Just loved this hotel! Centrally located in downtown Carmel, an easy walk to the shops, restaurants and beach. Very comfy bed, and loved the fireplace. Wine and appetizers were a nice touch each evening. Breakfast just so-so, but if you are not picky, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, turkey bacon(?), cereals, bagels and more make for a lot of options. Front desk staff were great! Would stay again!
Enjoyable. Parking was convenient and easy. We had no issues with finding a spot at the hotel. As with most hotels in downtown, it can be a bit noisy. Room (303) was big and decently furnished. Room did warm up during the day as there is no A/C. Overall great value.
Excellent location in Carmel with free parking place. Our room was very cosy : good size and clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. Very good breakfast. Pleasantly surprised by the afternoon wine.
Stayed 2 nights. Rooms were very clean and large. Nice bathrooms. Staff was great. It is managed by Four Sisters, who manage several hotels and do a great job. Included in the room fare was a full breakfast, cookies in the afternoon, and wine and munchies in the late afternoon/evening. Fridge, microwave, coffee in the room. Parking on site. Place is very quaint and nicely decorated. A little more than a block off of Ocean. We would definitely stay here again. Only negative is the floor above us was a little squeaky, so I'd recommend staying on the top floor, if possible.
Very conveniently located close to Ocean avenue. Rooms are well sized and well equipped. Very helpful receptionists, good breakfast provided plus 'happy hour drinks and snacks included in roomrate. Parking for hotel guests.
We loved our room, 202, Check in was a breeze.. We were greeted with fresh baked cookies and given a map of the town. Love the breakfasts, afternoon wine and hors d'ouvres, and delicious cookies. Proximity to everything in Carmel is a huge plus. There's a little neighborhood market just a few steps away and with a fridge in the room it was a huge plus. We bought sodas, water and fruit. Even though the hotel provides most of that for free. We were able to walk anywhere we wanted to go. It was about 1/2 mile down to watch the sunset on the beach. It's quite a trek back up the hill.. so be prepared. The price was very good considering Carmel tends to be a bit expensive. The service was above and beyond. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. The only downside, which I think is a citywide problem, is the lack of parking. We had to "squeeze" in a few nights.. and even once parked on the street.. but that's the price you pay to enjoy this quaint little town. Bed was comfy and even though it was January the fan in the room was a nice touch to circulate the air and make "white noise". Keep up the good work.. We can't wait to come back!!
We loved our room, 212, fireplace, location, refrigerator. Weather was rainy so fireplace was a welcome amenity. Love the breakfasts, afternoon wine and hors d'ouvres, delish cookies. Proximity to everything in Carmel is a huge plus. We were able to walk anywhere we wanted to go. Price is excellent considering Carmel is typically on the high side.
we loved the fire place and I even used the very clean hot tub. the breakfast was hot and fresh. the happy hour was outstanding. we have stayed here 3 times now and each visit was great. we will stay more times for sure.
Room 311 was quiet. The fireplace came in handy! The room was a little outdated but the Carmel location makes up for it as restaurants and shops minutes away. The price is quite reasonable compared to other hotels in the area, The beach is a 10 minute walk from the Inn. Ivy at the front desk is wonderful.
We liked our large room on the third floor in a quiet location, the very comfortable bed, welcoming staff, and the gas fireplace (cozy on a chilly night). The provided breakfast had something for everyone, with fresh fruit and juices as well as an egg dish every morning. The wine and appetizers in the evening were delicious also; we enjoyed the fresh vegetable tray and various dips. While Carmel is pricey, the location of the inn means one can walk to all sorts of restaurants and we think, given the amenities, the inn is good value, at least in the off season. The bathroom is rather old fashioned, but very clean. A fridge is provided, as well as a coffee maker. The only niggle: there is no desk space in the room, and these days everyone wants to set up a laptop with a desk chair--at least we do. We set up our lap top on a low coffee table and sat in front of it in a very low chair. Result: an aching back. The room is large enough to set up an inexpensive side desk and chair. Are you listening, Coachman's Inn? Those with mobility issues should request a room on the parking level or main floor, since the steps are very steep and there is no elevator, although staff did offer to help with bags.
