We booked a king bedroom online and upon arrival we were never told it was a handicap room. It was late when we arrived so we were too tired to ask about an alternative. The room was very sparse on counter space, the bathroom especially with a very outdated, 1 person sink with no counters. The shower head was low which is ideal for a person with disabilities but not for us. The staff however were so very nice and there was included breakfast which was fine, hot and very nice to see agave offered plus good coffee. It was overpriced though for our room and I just wish we had been informed. I didn’t like that guests were smoking right outside the front door as we walked in.
We were just stopping for the night after 500 miles of driving. We picked up some Indian takeout to share in the room. Room was large and had a big enough desk for us to eat dinner at and use as a bar to make cocktails. Here’s what I liked and why we would stay here again. Clean Convenient Recently refreshed Comfortable bed Nice pleasant staff Good value Nice hot breakfast The only thing I didn’t like was the toilet. Sounded like a jet engine about to blow up when you flushed it. I actually jumped the first time I used it. HA!
Excellent service room was very nice very good breakfast. Will stay again next time we are in the area. Good value for price. Very clean and bed was comfortable easy access from freeway. Staff was helpful and found it to be very quiet
This hotel is not what you expect from Marriott in many, many ways. First, it seems old and run down. It's dark and creepy. It seemed clean enough just worn out. Can't even check email on the very old computer without it crashing. Breakfast was sparse, not the typical you expect from Marriott. The worst part is the customer service. Maria at the front desk was HORRIBLE. She was mean, spiteful and vindictive. She threatened to cancel our reservations because she was confused about why I booked two nights separately. It's my opinion that she has a problem with certain races. My husband is black and she treated him like garbage. Then the next night, she did the same thing to me! She tried to change the rate that I reserved the room at, and then threatened to cancel my reservations and my 80 year old parents reservation if I didn't like it. All of this and she KNEW we were there because my brother was in the hospital dying. She was horrible, vindictive, insensitive and unprofessional. She should not be in Customer Service or working with the public.
Decent hotel. Clean rooms. Fresh cookies when you check in. Free breakfast. My only complaint is the hotel is near the highway and train tracks, and of course is not sound proofed. Tough to get a good night sleep.
My wife and I spent 2 nights here in October. We were in room 108 in the back corner of the 1st floor next to the rear exit, which allowed us to exit and be seated at the Denny's next door in about 1 minute after our late arrival the first evening. It also allowed us to park very close to this entrance, as most people parked in the front. Room 108 has a king bed and a small refrigerator and microwave. The property and room were clean. The room was quiet, although I could hear the roar of the train (no horns) from the track behind the property during the night. The bathroom light was very bright, and a night light would have been helpful in the middle of the night. The sink is outside of the bath/toilet area which we always appreciate. The bed springs were noisy when I got in /out of bed, but the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good, but basic, with eggs, 2 meats, waffles, oatmeal, cereals and an assortment of fruits. There were no newspapers available. Overall, I liked this property, and we would stay here again if we are in the area.
We had a bad experience at a hotel about a half mile away the previous night. We called Hotels.com and explained our issues. They were able to obtain a refund for the second nights stay, and set us up at The Fairfield Inn and suites by Marriott. The staff were very professional, the room clean and comfortable. Most importantly, it was quiet. We have stayed in other cities at a Fairfield Inn and suites, and have never had a bad experience. When in the area again, we will be back.
Nothing to write home about. Is close to HWY 99. Close to Modesto and Ripon Mall fairly close with standard chains Rooms were clean. Staff friendly. Close to train tracks. But wasn’t noisy. Breakfast needs some attention
Well where to begin? My true rating is probably 2.5. Not as nice as I'd expect from any level of Marriott properties. Motel is located in the agricultural town of Salida, but is pretty convenient from the Highway if you have a long drive and need a place to stay. We had a Smallish room, but we just need a nights sleep before getting back on the road heading south to get home in San Diego county after getting an evening start home following attendance at a wedding and reception 200+ miles further north. Given more time I would have continued south and found lodging in the next sizable town of Modesto 8 miles down the road, but after a long stretch of road paving delays fatigue ahd set in an I opted to stop in Salida for safety. The are a around the motel was not that appealing to the eye unless you like heavy equipment lots and farm equipment lots. Fortunately they did offer a continental breakfast, and their was a Costco within 1/3rd of a mile for a Gas fill-up.
Myself and my husband were on a road trip from Georgia where we live, to the Pacific Coast. We were glad we chose this hotel as one of our stops. The staff was courteous and the lobby was very inviting and clean. Our room was spacious and comfortable, especially after riding in the car for a long time that day. Our bed was fantastic and the room overall was clean, well decorated, and with the usual amenities. I wouldn't have a thing to complain about at all with this stay. Highly recommend!
