Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, The Depot

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The Hotel has a very nice location, history, and ambiance.

Arrived at 4 for check in and 1 of our rooms was not ready. (Had reserved a month in advance) asked when check in started and was informed 3. No comp offered and she could tell i was annoyed. Elevators were extremely slow...minimum 5 minute waits every time we used. Some remods going on inside which was fine..other than check in time issue and elevators it was a fine hotel.

This hotel was a great experience, they went above and way beyond.there valet and guest services treated us like friends we felt at home, there water park and ice rink were amazing, I would totally recommend this hotel.

It's a great building in a nice location, but not something I'd would go back to. Geared more at older couples and not very trendy decor. Guess it comes with the city and the area.

I was disappointed that the waterpark doesn't open until noon on Friday! Poor hours, but the waterpark was fun. While the stay was nice, there were minor details missed that I honestly didn't expect for the price. The lamps not plugged in, fridge was off, clock was blinking and time not set. Not a big deal. Our stay was fine. Average!

staff was friendly from the get-go, overall impressive appearance with great ammenities! close to restaurants and Target Center! even in the freezing-cold winter weather, we were able to walk to various places downtown. great experience overall!

There were not many amenities that were free with room. No free parking, no free Internet . Clean and nice hotel but a little disappointed.

Convenient, good value and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and willing to assist.

My fiancé and I stayed for 2 nights and had a great experience. I can't think of one thing to complain about. Even with the freezing weather, we were able to walk to the Target Center and surrounding restaurants. Staff was helpful with all our questions, too. Overall, great experience!

We had a great time for a mini vacation. Rooms were clean, restaurant was good and pretty affordable and the waterpark was great. The concession stand could have had a little more food options but overall, my 3 year old had tons of fun in the train and playing in the arcade. Easy to find and lots of parking options. Excellent staff and service.

Kind of far from the clubs. The hotel was super nice though! Loved the Aveda products in the bathroom.

Staff was friendly from when we checked in, to the Wedding reception, and in the morning walking through the halls. My only complaint was the catering crew from the Wedding reception and that has little to do with your property. It was perfect for our needs-thank you!

I was there on business but will definitely plan on taking my family for the water park and ice skating next time.

A fantastic staff combined with clean, tastefully decorated rooms and a great, inexpensive breakfast buffet make this hotel a winner. Throw in how they carefully blended in the architecture of the historical train depot and you can't go wrong with this place.

A very special occasion brought me to Minneapolis, and staying at The Depot made the trip even more special. From management to wait staff to check-in assistance, everyone goes out of their way to make sure your stay is memorable. You won't be disappointed . . . that's a promise.

This hotel offers both its own indoor water park and after the beginning of December its own indoor skating rink. It has a great restaurant on the property and was easily accessed from I-35 for those driving their own vehicle. The downtown area has lots to offer in addition to the Metrodome . The only thing we weren't too impressed with was the room service breakfast which arrived on time but not hot, never a pleasant thing for eggs or hash browns. I guess the idea of finding good fruit in Minnesota in the middle of winter might have been asking too much. The breakfast buffet down in the lobby was a much better choice, Parking was a little complicated with cards that sometimes worked and sometimes didn't used to access the lots. The hotel is definitely one we would use again the next time we were in the area.

Booked this on sale for a recent Vikings football game. Very nice and large rooms, clean, friendly staff, and convenient location for the game. Only downside was that there was a lot of street noise in the early morning with traffic and people walking by, which interrupted sleep somewhat. Also, the parking options were a bit expensive.

Friendly staff and great restaurant and bar. Luxurious feel that permeated event he hallways and rooms. and most importantly, amazing bed.

very clean, comfortable hotel in downtown MPLS. I stay here only when prices are competitive (>$200/night), other times I'll stay at the W, etc since they are all comparable. When priced right, it's my 1st choice. It is walking distance to business areas and Target field, but not much else

Came to enjoy the Art A Whirl weekend in Northeast Mpls. Check-in and out was fast and friendly. Desk staff were very helpful and accommodating, even offering to look up information to better help us plan our weekend. Outstanding hotel and staff! Made for a delightful weekend get away. Thank you!
