No late night food or bar. Lobby closes at 11:00PM. There for a concert in MPLS. Back at 11:30 no snacks or drinks.
Excellent hotel and restaurant, in room coffee should be upgraded to nespresso, no mini bar, no comb etc, small stuff.
Arrogant front desk staff. The building is not connected on all the floors so you have to walk outside. The light for the bathroom sink shines in your face and doesn't light up the top of your head. Signage is very bad and its hard to know where to go. The rooms were very nice though.
We got upgraded to the Excellsior suite which was huge!
We love the staff, rooms, restaurant, and location for our visits to Minneapolis.
The hotel was very clean, staff was friendly and the ambiance was quaint. I appreciated the valet. The room looked modern with nice decor. The only downside was the hotel restaurant, Milwaukee Road. The food was not worth the money. I paid $100 for two over done filet mignons that were half their appropriate size. I understand the portions are generally smaller at upscale restaurants, which I could have looked past if the steak was anywhere near being cooked properly. The bag of Cheetos my boyfriend and I at after our dinner was more satisfying.
Great hotel and staff! Close to downtown and all MN has to offer. Everyone is very accommodating.
Room is smaller, bed was very comfortable. Only one robe in the room and no coffee was available for the morning.
Both facility and staff were excellent. We would recommend this to anyone.
My stay at the Rennaissance Hotel was so I could attend a friend's wedding. My needs were simple; a place to rest, transition from travelling mode to Wedding mode, and to recover between the wedding events. The Rennaissance Depot fulfilled all those needs very well. The room was well appointed, clean and quiet. The staff were courteous, knowledgeable and the right sort of efficient. Though I did not spend much time at the hotel itself, I could imagine returning to stay longer and explore Minneapolis more thoroughly while using this Hotel as a base.
The Hotel has a very nice location, history, and ambiance.
Arrived at 4 for check in and 1 of our rooms was not ready. (Had reserved a month in advance) asked when check in started and was informed 3. No comp offered and she could tell i was annoyed. Elevators were extremely slow...minimum 5 minute waits every time we used. Some remods going on inside which was fine..other than check in time issue and elevators it was a fine hotel.
This hotel was a great experience, they went above and way beyond.there valet and guest services treated us like friends we felt at home, there water park and ice rink were amazing, I would totally recommend this hotel.
It's a great building in a nice location, but not something I'd would go back to. Geared more at older couples and not very trendy decor. Guess it comes with the city and the area.

Thank you for taking the time to provide valuable feedback. I am not sure what you mean about the floors not being connected. There is no need to walk outside to access any part of the building. We will review all of our property signage to ensure its accuracy. Thanks again.

Thank you for the great review. We are proud of our historic areas and have a lot of pictures to show the history of the train station. Glad you enjoyed them!
