Hotel Wagner4.0 out of 5.0

The front desk people are very nice and we're willing to change my 2 rooms out when we noticed the air conditioning was not working properly. But wow; their AC system is just not up to American standards. My wife locked herself in the bathroom because of a faulty door lock. The towels were like sandpaper. But the beds were comfortable. Good location.
This hotel is a very nice, old-fashioned Italian hotel, decorated in almost gaudy but pleasant style. Reproductions of music/instruments based paintings (after Richard Wagner, German composer), in between golden framed mirrors are giving a special touch to the overall Milano atmosphere. The people working at the hotel are extremely nice and helpful. Their help would be even more appreciated if they could fix the problem with the Wi-Fi. If you have a MAC or iPhone, your device will be searching for the network and once you find it it will never give you an option to enter password. i-Phone did manage to connect, but it was sporadically, but most of the time without any luck! The reception staff tried to blame it on my MacBook Pro, but then quickly other people confirmed they also had trouble with the WiFi. Every bathroom has a digital scale, with modern, transparent design. However, when we tried to see how many kilos we gained in Milano, the scale was dead. Probably the batteries. Other guests also had the same problem! So, the Hotel Wagner is GREAT, but only if you live like you are in the 80's!
Good location with easy access to public transportation, bars and shops. Somewhat overdone Italian Provincial decor throughout the hotel and rooms. Funky showerhead with LED lights. Convenient grocers next door for whatever you may need; a public market with a wide range of shops inside and out is right across the street. Good free Wi-Fi. English-speaking staff ready to help.
A beautiful Old World Hotel in a good location but missing some finer points. 1. A/C controlled by front desk so go from freezing to warm all night long. 2. Pillows are like sandbags, stiff necks and lack of sleep await you. I called for a down or feather pillow and they told me they had none-not very 5 star 3. Hot water shower dance-everytime a toilet gets flush your shower will go from warm to scalding hot in second and stay there while you patiently wait. 4. Grumpy front desk staff and apart from a lovely waitress the dining room staff is just as grumpy. Not at all 5 star 5. Nice housekeeping staff 6. nice bath towels 7. pleasant bar tender Not a memorable place to stay
Good location with easy access to Subway station lots of restaurants, bars, and shops around , check in ok, nice staff, furnishing poor, safe not working, pillows not comfortable, only one electric socket in the room, very old TV, Breakfast was good
The staff is gracious and welciming. Everyone at the desk had a good command of English. Rooms are decorated in over the top grandma style. Loud print carpet. Breakfast was OK. They serve stale bread. Unusual for Italy. The neighborhood was nice.
Nice hotel with a very high lever of service every where. Breakfast well prepared , Personals very formal , All you can aspect by Milan Hotel. Nice place if you have meetings need., Regards and compliment To staff : very professional with high competence. Regards
Firstly, as usual for a hotel in a famous city it's expensive which makes you wish for more for your money and resent the premium price. Once you get over that and accept that this is the going rate for an average hotel then it levels the playing field. The staff are great, very friendly and very helpful. The hotel is very conveniently located, easy to get to from Malpensa. It's also pretty convenient for getting to Fieromilano exhibition centre but don't get on at Wagner, walk to the next stop Buonorotti it's literally a minutes walk. Would I use again, probably. Would I get excited, no.
Lovely hotel convenient location with Wagner Metro steps from the door. Welcoming & helpful staff, clean attractive room, delicious breakfast and interesting neighborhood to explore with Piedmonte theater near by. Highly recommend & will stay again!
Recently my husband and I stayed at the Wagner Hotel. Let me begin by saying that the hotel is very clean and the staff is very helpful. Breakfast was included with the room and it was good with many choices. We did find the rainforest shower a bit difficult to operate. If put on all the way, the water spurts all over and the towels were rather rough. It also had tiny lights in the shower which made it a bit interesting. However, the thing that makes this hotel memorable is that everything is gold, yellow, and mirrors---the whole bedroom is mirrors. Actually, the breakfast room also is all mirrors. In any case, it's an interesting experience to stay here but I'm not sure I'd stay again although the location is very convenient to restaurants, shopping, and the metro.
