Generally everything was very nice. Some things could be improved in the room. The staff was very kind and friendly. The food in the restaurant was magnificent. I hope I could have a possibility to visit Milano and the hotel again.
Visited the Milano for 2 nights early November 2017 and enjoyed our stay overall. The hotel is located only a 3” walk from the Lotto Metro station, easily within a 15” ride to Duomo in the city centre. Room was comfortable and spotlessly clean with good facilities, however it was spoilt in our second evening when we visited the bar at 7pm and were the only people between ourselves and 7 other parties who were not offered the complimentary bar snacks. Was it coincidence that we were the only foreign nationals in the bar at the time, I’m not sure, however it left us with a sour experience of the place.
I stayed 8-13 September, for five nights, for business. I stayed at the Mélia Milano while attending a convention at the fairground. The hotel has an excellent location for that, within a 10 minute walking distance. Similarly, there is short distance to a metro station, which provide access to Milan. For a fairground event, the hotel has a great location. The rooms are a little dated. I was initially allocated a room on the top floor, which was nice, if a littel scuffed, but also faced a mobile phone antenna which emitted a persistent beeping sound that couldn't be ignored. I tried to get a room reassigned, but this proved to be an insurmountable hurdle for the front desk. Only when I demanded the General manager did options suddenly become available, and I was reallocated to an alternative. I hate having to play these games in hotels. In sum: it's great for a fairground visit, but otherwise, I would stay elsewhere in Milan.
We’ve stayed in other Melia hotels already, our stays were always good / great. This time, our stay at the Melia Hotel in Milan was not good, in fact our stay was terrible. It started with the check—in, I assume the guy behind the desk was a trainee. He did not care, he did not care at all. On top, we got probably the worst room in the hotel!! Not sure where the pictures from nice looking rooms on the website comes from... Next day, we checked out... but nobody asked about our stay... The whole ‚package‘ was incredible bad: the service, the room, simply everything. Our stay was horrible... Attached our ‚room with a view‘
Staying on the Level floor of the Melia was amazing and the staff always took that extra step to give us the help we needed. From directions to hair appointments , arranging the packing and mailing of our belongings, there seemed to be nothing that they wouldn't do - and always with a smile!
Location to the Milan fair which is 5 minutes walk away. Only 20 minutets drive to the Historical centre of Milan. 30 minutes away from Milan linate airport. Quiet area. Rooms are spacious with free wifi- there is also availability of free mobile phone to use as your concierge.
Great hotel, was there for an event very well organized. Great clenginess but expecially great staff, asked assistance to front desk receptionist (blonde with tatoos don't know the name) help was quick and resoulute. Would come back.
This hotel is listed as 5 stars, while the lobby area is beautiful the room i was assigned to was definitely not 5 star. I had spiders on the ceiling and several mosquitoes. On my last night only stayed 2 nights while I was sleeping I had a buzz by one mosquitoes which Im afraid flew right into my nose. That was not pleasant at 12 midnight.
We stayed at the Melia Milan for one night on our honeymoon trip around Italy. We arrived by train and took the metro 20 mins across town from Milan Centrale and then a 2 min walk the other end. The hotel itself was quite grand as you would expect for a 5* hotel and looked mostly set up for conferences. It's not located near any points of interest in Milan (they're about a 45 min walk away). We booked a Junior Suite with a city view which was possibly in the furthest corner of the hotel on the 5th floor. When we opened the door it was so depressing. It felt like we were the first people to open the door in months. Everything needed a little TLC. There were scrapes and dents on all the walls and the "city view" was a brick wall (as per photo). We decided we didn't pay £250 a night for a room like this room and went back to reception to move rooms. We said we booked a city view room and that it was our honeymoon. The reception explained that a city view doesn't necessarily mean a view of the city. We showed the photo of the view and I think that made the point. They moved our room to the 4th floor and it was much more acceptable. Still not great, seemed dated and unloved but a marked improvement on the previous room. The second photo is from the bath in the second room we got. I expect more from Melia as a chain. Second disappointing stay in a row (previous time in Athens). They mostly feel dated and old. For the price in Melia Milan it incredibly didn't even include a breakfast. Average at best. Would recommend staying somewhere closer to central Milan and at a nicer hotel.
I spent 6 nights at the Melia Milano, and it was wonderful. My first time in Italy. The hotel is close to the metro and the convention center. There are lots of great restaurants within walking distance. The staff was very friendly, and professional. I’m looking forward to staying at this property again.
