First time visit to Milan, the hotel was great & on a direct tram route into the city centre (a very cheap & convenient way to travel to & from the city) We had a great stay ... the hotel (yes a little dated in the bedrooms) but was spotlessly clean & the staff were warm, welcoming & friendly. Breakfast was amazing !! So many choices (all perfectly presented) & could literally sit & graze for hours !! We only stayed for 2 nights & always had a little vino rosso (or 2) in the lovely little bar area after returning from the city. The drinks came accompanied by a lovely selection of snacks (nachos, salsa, olives, crisps) all free of charge .... a generous touch. Would definitely stay here again & wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel. We had a great time in Milan .... thank you Hotel Rafaello 💕
Despite a reasonable location, this hotel has unfortunately destroyed my desire to ever visit Italy again, let alone Milan or this particular hotel. The customer service is the the worst I have ever encountered in decades of European travel. The lady on reception took rudeness to a new level- aggressive and frankly intimidating in her tone and choice of words. I haven’t cried since the birth of my child but the tears couldn’t be held back. I asked to speak to the manager who was much more polite but unfortunately he seemed scared of her too. The rooms were ok, just ok. Breakfast was ok. However, the service and manner of some staff were upsetting and have unfortunately ruined my holiday and experience of Milan. Frankly disappointing and unacceptable.
Stayed at Hotel Raffaello for three nights. Have no complaints whatsoever. Hotel was clean, staff were friendly and very helpful Beds were comfortable and bathroom clean with hot water in plentiful supply. They even provided slippers. There was a problem with the hair dryer, which was making the most horrendous noise. We reported it at the desk and immediately were sent a new hairdryer. Breakfast was very nice too, and free. I don't suppose I will be back to Milan, but I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting. It isn't in the centre but you soon get used to the trams which leave from right outside the hotel and run very frequently.
This place is pretty tired, the beds are very hard and the shower temperature was very inconsistent. It is in dire need of updating, maybe it was a 4 star hotel in the 80s but it isn't today. The breakfast was alright, but I wouldn't pick it again.
Nice hotel and friendly staff. Good choices of breakfast. There is supermarket and good restaurant nearby. Far from the noise of city but not a good idea for who want to travel to city center area. Overall, sastify with the stay.
A little out the centre but don't let this put you off, no 14 tram right beside hotel, tickets from shops or reception 1.50 a single. Well placed for alfa museum a taxis only 30 euro, big shopping centre by museum too. Nice enough breakfast selection and always warm welcome from all staff, rooms spotless clean every day. Tourist tax a little steep at 5 euro per PERSON per night but not hotels fault but would mount up if staying a few nights and might put me off again to be honest. Good long island ice tea at the bar!
We booked this hotel as part of a 4 night break through BA Holidays. We couldn’t believe the overall value of both the flights from LHR and Hotel Raffaello in Milan. The hotel is right on the main tram link (no 14) to the centre of town. It takes 30 minutes to reach the hustle and bustle of a busy city centre. All the staff at the hotel were professional, courteous and above all friendly and helpful. The rooms were more than sufficient, some slightly ‘tired’, but for the time spent in the hotel, more than adequate for the job in hand and very reasonably priced. We would thoroughly recommend Hotel Raffaello to all future guests and thank the general manager and all the staff for a job well done!! Thank you!!
We stayed 5 nights and quickly got the hang of the tram which was right outside. It did take 25 mins or so to get into the centre of Milan but it was a direct and safe route in and out. The hotel was clean, friendly and well managed. We had drinks and burgers at the bar a couple of nights in a row which was great and there was always mint and lemon water available. Breakfast was good too. It is not a brand spanking new hotel but it was comfortable and well priced. I would return again
I was staying here 2days and 1 night in room 107. But it was enough for be bitten by mosquitoes or another kind of bed bugs. It seems like pillows and mattress not so clean as it looks like. Due to the fact that I’m allergic now I need one week to be recovered. Because of my swelling face in the morning I cannot go to a business meeting. Thanks for my the “best” Christmas mood!
I stayed here for a small meeting and it was just right for that. Enjoyed the restaurant and the area has other places to eat and tram stops very close by. I probably would not have elected to stay here because it's farther out of the city center than I tend to like. I hadn't rented a car and to get to the airport cheaply, I would have needed to go into the city and back out again on the train so had no options but to taxi, which was outrageously expensive. So! The +'s and -'s of Hotel Raffaello in my opinion? It is definitely clean. I agree with other reviewers comments that the staff wasn't all that friendly but not with the complaints about it not being a 4 star hotel. That designation is not the same as in the US and this hotel definitely has the amenities that make it a 4. I liked being near the tram and took it into Milan proper twice. It's an extensive system and while confusing to figure out where to get tickets at times, once on is a nice ride. There was a desk in the room and the bathroom was quite large. Yes, the elevator is small and stairs not necessarily easy to find but given the number of hotels in Europe I've stayed in that don't even have an elevator, this was good by me. There is parking attached, I don't know if it's included or what it costs but is right at the hotel. i recommend as long as you understand the location and are okay with doing what you need to to get to the airport and into the center of the city.
