Exceptionally unhappy with our stay at the Rafaello, and how they chose to deal with my feedback. Room 102 aircon did not work! This was during a really hot period at the start of July. Called reception around midnight to seek help and no-one answered. Reported following morning at checkout and no apology despite our inability to sleep that night. Wrote to the hotel and unsatisfactory response received. Needless to say, last stay at the Raffaello for us.

I did not book my room thru Expedia, as I recall when I checked I was only offered a 2-twin bed room. I then called the hotel and booked a room directly with a king bed. I am surprised that Expedia has booked me a 2-twin bedroom for the same same date, so I was charged for 2 rooms for the same night. I Never Confirmed the booking thru Expedia, I have email from Expedia reminding me to finalize the booking, which I never did. I therefore SHOULD NOT PAY FOR THE 2-twin Bedroom , and ask you to reverse the charge

We chose location for proximity to San Siro only, despite friendly, helpful staff, we would not chose to stay again. Hotel felt very old, needs updating. WiFi did not work.

The hotel itself was outdated with rooms that were minimally furnished. While the food was good, the restaurant looked like a cafeteria. This is not a 4 star property and is set in a questionable run down neighborhood . The staff was very kind and helpful .

I felt unprepared for the general condition and location of this hotel based on the summary and reviews found on Expedia before our trip. While we managed for our stay, I would never stay here again due to the following main reasons/concerns: the area around the hotel is dirty and feels unsafe for walking, especially at night. It does not appear to be a nice area of Milan. We had to plan our outings very carefully. That is a major concern of ours as we were travelling with children. The hotel fits right into the area as it is very run down from the outside. Inside it is in good repair for the most part but is extremely dated with old carpets and decor. The elevator was tiny (2people with luggage max) and did not inspire confidence. The hotel is also not convenient at all to the areas of Milan that you would want to visit and access to public transportation is not good (particularly if you are avoiding walking in the area at night). I hope this review prevents an unsuspecting family like ours from booking this hotel.

The family room we booked was great for the family of four. The room was very spacious and clean. It was also quiet so we could get a good night sleep. The staff welcomed us when we check-in us in near midnight. Late check-in was a key factor in us choosing this hotel. There are nearby bar and trattorias if you need a quick bite before going out for the day
