The staff we dealt with were hit and miss. The person who helped us to check in was kind of rude, but everyone else were nice. But be warned, the hotel will preauthorise payment for your stay, without asking you. And it will take 1 month for the money to be returned (as per hotel staff). So I had no choice, but paying with that cc & got a really bad exchange rate. Also, the room we stayed were really old and nothing works properly. Toilet doesn’t flush properly, shower curtain keeps falling down.

Review of Hotel Nuovo

The hotel is tiny and when you get your head around the fact that it's 1 star, its great. It was clean and comfortable. Don't expect too much in terms of amenities. Decor leaves room for improvement, but in saying that there is nothing wrong with it for the price. Talking about price, it offered great value for money. We were there for city weekend break, so we spent very little time in the hotel. It's close to everywhere, Duomo (1 minute), shops, eateries, bars, pubs, etc. Overall opinion. Don't expect 5 star and it's brilliant. I'd stay again.

Low star hotel in a very accessible location

This was the cheapest hotel we could find within walking distance of all the sights we wanted to see so keep that in mind when reading the review. Rooms: The rooms were basic, as they should be with a low star hotel. There were 2 twin beds, a table & tiny TV, chair, & an upright standing fan. The room was not huge so it was just a little tight. Beds were comfortable enough (although we were exhausted so it really didn't matter). There were big windows with nice curtains. It was not hot while we were there. I don't think there was AC, but we didn't check. If it is hot, well, you have big windows and a fan. Location: Great, just a few minute walk from the Duomo & subway stations. This is probably why it was one of the most expensive hotels of the trip (while certainly not the nicest). Bathroom: Our room had a private bathroom. Sink, toilet, and shower. Not big, but does what it needs to do. Amenities: We didn't use any special amenities except the Wifi. Be warned, Wifi did not work in the rooms, it only worked in the lobby. When booked through travelocity a charge was put on the card. At the hotel, we were asked to pay. Apparently the 1st charge was just a hold & we needed to pay. Difficult to figure out with the language barrier. l didn't want to hassle with payments while on the trip which is why I paid online. A good low star hotel, however, too expensive in my opinion. Expense is probably due to the location, it was just a small block from the main attraction

Whether you will like this hotel depends on your expectations. The hotel facility is basic, spartan even. In my case, this was not a bad thing. I needed a basic room, at a reasonable price, in central Milan. If you look around, the choices are limited. Many of the hotels are exorbitantly expensive. The room, bed and bathroom were clean. The location, two shot blocks east of Milan Cathedral (Duomo) cannot be beat. The hotel itself faces Piazza Cesare Beccaria, a relatively quiet, mostly pedestrian boulevard. Hotel front desk were helpful and efficient. As long as one doesn't expect a full service hotel, then I think the experience will be positive.

Clean room, comfortable bed. Excellent location. Shower was square and tiny with a shower curtain that pulled around on 2 sides. The force of the water creates drafts that makes the shower curtain attack you and cling to you. And the shower pan is shallow and may overflow onto the bathroom floor where there is a second drain. Poor design. Helpful desk clerk. They are in a pedestrian only zone so you have to walk a block to get a taxi.

Great location away from the crowds but still in the middle of the action. Shower tiny, bed comfortable, clean. No elevator. Very few rooms so not busy or noisy. Short subway ride from both train stations. Duomo 3 minute walk. No breakfast.

Milan hotel.

The room was comfortable but a little bit small and basic. The bathroom was so narrow that you needed to squeeze between a sink and a shower to get to a toilet and after the shower all bathroom was just flooded. Although it was cleaned just before we arrived it didn't feel very hygienic, we didn't feel very comfortable sleeping in the bedding and or using the towels as some of them had strange stains one them. The hotel is situated just few steps from the Duomo so the location is perfect but we were glad that we only staid there for one night.

Amazing location, and also very quiet

A basic hotel with very helpful staff, and in an amazing location very close to both the Duomo and the shopping street. Miraculously for a place so close to the centre of town also remarkably quiet. The room itself was fairly basic, not large, but clean and comfortable.

Unbeatable for the price and location combination. If you want to be near the Duomo and not break your budget this is the place. Great public transport connections as well. The room was very simple, somewhat outdated and small but clean.

Excellent value for the price Room was small but very clean and quiet. Very close to Duomo and metro. All night reception, staff really helpful. No breakfast but lots of places to eat nearby. Great value for staying a night or two.

Best Part of this location other then cleanliness and service is location,cathedral is at max 5 mins away,Shopping Market and mall 3 mins away,night out life and moreover (latina) airport 15-20 mins away. IF i will visit next time this hotel would be on my top of list.

Not luxurious,but good for the money

It's a no-frills, basic hotel. The room was clean and the sheets were changed daily. Fantastic location and the price was good. The main downside was the shower, which had a VERY low basin that always overflooded. There's actually a second drain on the floor of the bathroom to catch the overflow from the shower. Poor design.
