We were informed upon arrival at this "Pay at Property' hotel that they had cancelled our reservation without letting us or Hotels.com know.
I believe the reason for the cancellation was that we had booked far in advance at a good rate for a premium room. Upon arrival, we learned that a large convention was taking place in the area and all rooms were sold out, I think our room was re-rented at a much higher rate due to the event. The hotel staff were unhelpful and uncaring that we had no place to sleep that night. Hotels.com did eventually reimburse us for the much higher rates we were forced to pay for an inferior nearby property.
Never again will I book a Best Western hotel as I believe they behaved in a fraudulent (definitely unprofessional) way.
