Booked this place for 4 nights and it proved perfect! Good old Google maps got us easily to the hotel in the rental car which was no mean feat given the Melbourne traffic... Nice friendly welcome and qucikly up to our room on the ninth floor with great views across the city from the Southbank... to the Cathedral, Flinders Station etc over the river. The room was superb... plenty of space with separate dining and living room, kitchenette with plenty of storage and large bathroom. The kitchen was equipped with dishwasher (not used) and washer/drier (used!), although all the eating places on the southbank are just a short walk so not really used for eating... Even though this was right on the Southbank, the soundproofing ensured a good nights sleep every night, including Saturday!! Staff were very helpful and friendly and really made this place such a great choice - highly recommended!
Just Wonderful - upgraded to top floor and next room grade. Staff were helpful and genuine in their attentiveness. Room was well equipped and bed comfortable. Really perfect way to spend our anniversary.
Quay West Suites is in an excellent location in Melbourne City, minutes away from the nearest tram station and Eureka tower. We were on a holiday to celebrate our anniversary, and were very pleased to have early check in and a bottle of wine with yummy cookies in our room with a balcony. Good amenities (microwave, fridge, outside sink, sofa) and good service at reception and breakfast, (although the breakfast spread could have been more varied and tasty.) We were also chuffed to have a complimentary shoe shining. Overall a pleasant recommendable stay.
We stayed in a Two Bedroom Suite recently and just loved everything about the Quay West Melbourne! The suite, the views, the handy location, the pool facilities, the restaurant and the absolutely fantastic staff! Just loved it all and we will be back for sure!
I have been staying at Quay West Suites in Melbourne once a year, in January during the Australian Open, every year for about eight years. Obviously we (my mum and I) are fans. We usually stay about about a week so having access to a kitchen is a huge benefit to us. In recent years we've been taking advantage of the hotel breakfast, which we both enjoy. The rooms are always clean and well maintained and the service is friendly and helpful. My only criticism is that the in-room dining service could be improved. We ordered room service one night and weren't overly impressed with the food – it was over cooked and was far from restaurant quality.
Stayed here recently a few times for business. It has a great location easy walking distance to the CBD and restaurants/attractions/public transport. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Really nice pool and small gym. Only con is that the breakfast is a bit pricey. But there are are plenty of nearby choices. Glad this is the location my business chose as the preferred hotel in Melbourne.
We had never stayed at this type of hotel. The apartment style was very comfortable and service was great. It was also very well located. We had a little miscommunication regarding the reservation, but they were very helpful in sorting it out.
Potentially the best hotel we stayed in during our time in Australia. It’s location is perfect, next to the river, across the road from Flinders Street station and within easy access by foot to local transport, the sporting venues and the city itself. The bed was probably the best we enjoyed during our stay in Australia, exceptionally comfy. The room was not only spacious but being a suite had in room washing and cooking facilities. The gym was a touch small and adjacent to a decent sized pool and Jacuzzi. More importantly both were available both early in the morning and later at night which was ideal as sometimes the pool is closed after a days sightseeing. Breakfast was a nice array of both hot and cold food with great coffee but the organization of it all seemed a little bit chaotic. For quite a large hotel there was only a small amount of space for breakfast and it could have been organised better. What was available was lovely and our needs were always catered for. The staff were exceptionally helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble for reception who helped us organize transfers to the airport and anything else we required. On the final morning we were leaving before breakfast was open so they kindly ensured something was delivered to our room before we left. Similarly the concierge was a font of knowledge about the city and its sights and the excursions available. A lovely guy and again nothing was too much trouble. We were made to feel as if we were the hotels most important guests.
An apartment hotel in Melbourne that is near the center of the action. The staff is great, parking is available, and in the adjacent River Center are many dining options. Across the river (via a pedestrian bridge) is the Train Station. From here, you can get anywhere.
We stayed in a one bedroom apartment for our wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful Melbourne skyline view from out balcony. There are endless places to eat along Southbank to choose fro all within easy walking distance. We found a window seat to enjoy the people watching and soak up Melbourne. Our room was very spacious, well presented, and our kitchenette had a good selection of crockery etc. We brought back wine and dessert to enjoy from our balcony. Only minus was that you can't see the casino flames, and the Taxi driver got lost both dropping us off and picking us up. Check your map to give good directions, and assist them to find the hotel as it is tricky. Great little romantic get away.
