On a trip to Nevada and spent the night, reasonable price and clean and friendly. New owner and making upgrades as he goes, our ac unit was working overtime but bed was comfortable and unit was very clean. Would stop again without hesitation.
We stayed on the bottom floor with VERY creaky overhead boards. The people above us kept us up most of the night walking around in their room. There was a coffee pot, but no coffee, just cups, creamer and sugar.
I booked his motel online with Hotwire. It was a non-refundable reservation (of course). We arrived after approx. 12 hours of driving (tired and ready to relax). When we arrived, we were advised that we would have to pay $20 extra for two beds despite booking the room for three people and the Hotwire reservation clearly stating "Rooms will sleep the number of guests, but bed types and sizes aren't guaranteed." We were given a choice of one bed for the three of us or the $20 additional charge. We just paid the $20 and decided to work it out later with Hotwire. STRIKE ONE. When we got into the room, we found it to be somewhat dirty (dirt all around the edges of the room) but the bedding was clean, so that was enough for us after a long day's drive. But, to our additional surprise, we found an old, rotten, mouldy cucumber in the freezer (the fridge had been unplugged). STRIKE TWO. After a brief shopping trip, we came back to the room to settle in for the night. As I was laying down to read my five year old son bedtime stories, I kept getting bit by something. I started to get welts all over my legs, arms and head. I searched the room for bedbugs, but there was no sign of them. I continued to read and get bit. Then my wife noticed a bug on the pillow by my son's head. I quickly captured the bug and put it in a Ziplock bag. STRIKE THREE. We decided to cut our losses at this point, we packed up as fast as we could and get out of there. I gave the bug to the desk clerk and wished him a "merry Christmas" and left nothing but a vapour trail as we drove out of that place. Judging by the way I welted up and the fact that the hotel is pet friendly, I suspect the room was infested with fleas. Since the room was likely not rented for awhile (based on the condition of the cucumber), I suspect he fleas were very hungry which was why the attacked me with such tenacity. This was the worst hotel experience we've ever had. Good luck if you stay in this place.
Both clerks were friendly, the price was good, and the rooms were clean. The only gig I had was that though accessible, the 6am continental breakfast wasn't set-up until 6:30. No biggie... I just had to self-serve a bit more.
Its pleasant surprise stay for us...nice room, location, convenient and excellent check in service staff. The rooms are pretty clean and comfortable, noise free. Nice Chinese restaurant near to the motel. Having all required amenities in room like freeze, microwave, free wifi, bath tub.
**Before I start this review, I want everyone to know that the Interstate in this area and the exits in have been recently renovated, and your GPS might send you all over the place because it's simply confused or the GPS needs updating. I would have an atlas on standby just in case.** This is an older motel that has the modern comforts: Clean bed, fridge, microwave. And the shower? I wanted to stay in all day. Nice, hot water. Clean towels. Carpet looks like it had been replaced recently. Very nice. I got plenty of rest both nights without any outside drama from neighbors. There is a shopping center and restaurant within walking distance. The gas station is VERY close by. Close to downtown area. If you are into karaoke, there is a Chinese restaurant that has karaoke 7 nights a week not that far from the motel. It's driving distance. The only issue I had was with the Wi-Fi service. My HP laptop would not connect to the Internet, but my iPod did. You might wish to check with front desk to see if you have a connection on your computer before you decide to stay. I will bring my Chromebook the next time I stay here, it usually connects to most any Wi-Fi service. And speaking of front desk, the staff could not have been any more friendly than they were. I stayed two nights with my Jack Russell and yes, I would stay here again.
This hotel is a bargain. It is not intended to be a fancy lodge and doesn't attempt that style. It is clean, comfortable, convenient and simple. When traveling a economical room is all that is required. The Royal Crest in Medford is central to restaurants and to the entire city. When you stay here, you get a good nights sleep and save money.
We're seniors and on limited income so it's difficult to find an affordable place to stay that's also safe, clean and that has the amenities we need. The owners are friendly, the motel room spotless, and the room rate was affordable. The room had a fridge, microwave, tv and free wifi. There was an additional counter on which we could prepare food. There's also a windshield cleaning station with paper towels on the front of the building. They deserve 5 stars.
The carpeting had specks and lint and clearly had not been vacuumed. Cheap wrinkled sheets appeared to be clean but the bedspread gave me the heebie jeebies. Upholstery on chairs was filthy. The bathroom was clean and appeared to have been updated in recent years, which was a bonus. Sketchy location behind a gas station. All in all, Ick. Only stayed there because it was late and other places were full.
This is a typical cheap motel. The staff has been very friendly and it is close to everything. Comes with a coffee maker, hair dryer, refrigerator, and microwave. Free WiFi. I can only complain about one thing, but it is a pretty big thing, the floor. Do not walk around your room barefoot, if you do the bottoms of your feet will be blacker then if you walked down the street barefoot.
