Host was very welcoming, amenities are high-tech, and property is gorgeous - we're birders and there was a lot to admire in the yard, including two Barred Owls calling back and forth in the early morning. I wish, though, that the listing would have noted that this unit is the lower-level of an occupied home. Could hear footsteps and dogs barking periodically, even with white noise machines going. We were in the property much of the time as I was recovering from a procedure, and I wouldn't have booked this spot if I would have known it's not a standalone location. Full transparency, I didn't reach out to the host to make any requests re: noise, and he may very well have been open to trying to make adjustments, but I didn't want the hassle of communicating back and forth. The host was very also gracious in trying to help us extend our stay on the website even though that didn't work out. Would not book again because we prefer units that aren't connected to a full house, and wish this listing was clearer.

I planned our stay due to a family funeral in Arlington. We also enjoyed some sites in Washington D.C. check in and check out was very easy and the property was as described, clean, comfy with luxury touches. Kevin answered any questions I had and our time at “the Wooded Retreat” was enjoyable. We saw deer and a fox from the patio window! Would highly recommend!
