Not very friendly and not very clean....................................................................

Very good stay as always. Staff is always great and helpful. Resort is always making upgrades and I've always enjoyed staying there.

I must say that this was out second family experience at the Royal Villas Resort (We were here just three months ago) and this is the first indication that we liked the place the first time. We found interesting improvements like new and much efficient elevators (this was an issue in our previous stay) and it seems than in general is getting better maintained. Our suite was very good and really very clean which for us is always a big plus. The staff was really very nice and in general our experience was very good. One important thing to improve is the car traffic at the main door area as we were blocked there some times when trying to go out for breakfast, lunch or dinner (we love the variety of food options that you can get at Mazatlan and always have a place to visit in mind) and loosed some time there. Great location, great facilities and great price. Our entire family was very happy so we'll get back at the Royal Villas Resort at the first opportunity. Enjoy!

have always stayed in the gold zone. never here. enjoyed my stay. clean room, great staff, everyone was friendly. great pool and beach access. all requests were met with speed and professionalism. will definitely stay here again.

Royal Villas is located in a good area with a very nice view. The swimming pool is fine. The staff is friendly and communication was not a problem. However, the hotel and the facilities are getting a bit old. The air conditioner is very noisy and I have to turn it off to sleep. Good thing I was there when the weather was perfect and that was not a problem. The wifi was weak and only work once in a while. The phone in my room was broken and it took four days to replace it. They also want about 3 dollars to make a local call.

What the resort lacks in some areas, they make up for it with their super bellhops and the services they provide.

I really enjoyed this hotel, it will become my favorite choice in Mazatlan, great location, nice views and great rooms..

You need to bring the exact description of your room with you so they can read what you're suppose to get. I print it in Spanish and then hope for the best. Nice place, good location, great Bellmen. Good time!

I am sure my ratings seem inconsistent. Not all the hotels fault. I don't like the über tourist Golden Zone per se. Only stayed there for convenience sake, since I play tennis in the area. While this hotel is fairly dramatic architecturally, but it suffers from.. 1. Really bad tourist economy. 2. The idea that tourist will be appalled if they see an insect. This place is bombed with insecticides. The smell follows you. The rooms have that numbing cleanser smell that is just as bad. The staff is at best bored.

This was our third stay at the Royal Villas. It just keeps getting better and better. The staff all recognize us now and were eager to greet us. We plan to return many, many times if the service continues to impress. One small criticism: There was a private wedding reception in the hotel grounds on the Saturday evening. This party interfered with the entertainment that the hotel had already provided for the "paying guests" in the bar area. They had to cancel the live music entertainment in the bar at 9.00pm in order to accomodate the wedding party and the hotel guests were NOT invited to the wedding. The wedding party went on until after 3.00am and the music could be heard all over the hotel! It didn't bother me, but it was the talk of the breakfast buffet on the Sunday morning after.

This was my second stay at this hotel in as many months. Check in was a breeze, check out even easier. The all inclusive package is well worth the money, although the constant signing for every single thing that I ordered became very tedious after a while. They say it's for inventory purposes, but it's still aggravating to be chased around for signatures. Service is great, the food delicious, great location, excellent location, nuff said!

This hotel is a bit older than most but has been upgraded and they are constantly working on it little by little. This Hotel has the best beach front in Mazatlan and the pool is next to the beach so you can watch the waves while sun bathing. The loungers al have cushions on them and no other hotel I seen had cushions. The poole is always warm and not to deep. Like i said you don't have to lie on the beach to enjoy it from this hotel. The bell Captian Renaldo and Bell Boys Rafael and Arturio cannot be beat. The most helpful bell boys I ever met.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days as all inclusive guests. The hotel for the most part is nice and well kept, the room we stayed in was a little "worn" , but for the money we paid, it was certainly tolerable. The waiters, front desk and maids were all very polite and attentive and overall it was a very positive experience. My only negative experience was at check in. We arrived slightly early (approx 1.30pm), we were given a room immediately, but they would not give us our all inclusive colored wrist bracelets until 3.00pm. I mean, come on, how much "free food and drinks" could we possibly consume in 1.5 hours? It kinda spoilt the holiday mood a little bit but , I guess the hotel has rules about this. Other than the check-in thing, everything else about the AI was great and well worth the money that we paid. I would definitely use this hotel again.

The room itself was great, but the service left something to be desired. It felt like they were trying to nickel and dime us every step of the way. The ladies in tour desk harassed us every time we went by trying to get us to buy their tours. They even scolded us for going with another company for a tour that they didn't even offer.

we relaxed and visited with friends. ate out and enjoyed the beach, the weather was fair ,some cool days and the lobby is wide open so it was quite cool and breezy.I like the hotel and people in the area.

The hotel was really nice, the staff was fabulous (everyone was helpful, polite & spoke English), the pool & beach were excellent, the food at the restaurant was good & the location was great (walking distance to shops, restaurants & night life). We really enjoyed our stay & would recommend the hotel to our friends. The temperature was wonderful, everyday was around 78 degrees.

Everything we wanted was easily excessible thru the Hotel! Staff was great as usual! Rooms were Perfect! We had a blast!

Good Location. Stayed there many times and pretty much the same. Good Staff.

Very good, location was ok, but the renovations were messy, and the internet was not working properly, one does not expect to move around the room trying log on.The staff were friendly and spoke good English. We were permitted to stay an extra 3 hours at no charge, this was excellent for us.[...]

The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that they have a friendly staff. After a great night out there was to much noise early in the morning from the repairs in the hotel, like jack hammers and drills. Every morning!!! To top everything off the elevators stop working, so we had to climb 4 long flight of stairs!Try to enjoy the buffet before the pigeons! Hotel needs help!
