We have made reservation in a other hotel but when we went into it, it was not possible to stay there. So we maid reservations at Howard Johnson and we don't regret it. very nice hotel right in the center of the town. Love the area, love the structure l, the great church across the street, very good location, staff is excellent, great facilities. We will definitely stay again .

Excellent !!! The personnel was very friendly. I will recomended to all my friends whenever travel to Mayagüez!!

Close to everything in Mayaguez and the West Coast. Not much to do in the hotel. The pool is tiny. Hostel feel. Church bells ring at 6am waking you if you are a light sleeper. Good hotel for the price.

I had a great stay. Staff was very friendly, very accommodating. The wifi connection wasn't the best but that was the only thing I could think of that wasn't the best.

Curtains stained & dirty - dirty floors - load music from clubs too close to hotel rooms -

was a very good experience, good facilities, service and parking

Lobby was nicer than expected. Room was ok but shower curtain had stale odor. Just needed a place for the night so it did the job.

The HJ is right downtown which is good and bad. The bad part is that at night, even during workdays the whole area is party zone. Don't expect any sleep. I'm not old but I do like to sleep sometimes lol. Also the keys never worked we had to get them re-set every time we left the room. Breakfast they included was stale pastries and yogurt. Good points is that the entrance is well lit and parking had 24/7 vigilantes. I have stayed here a few times and like the charm of the old side, but I can't deal with the noise, uncomfortable beds, and messed up keys. Last time I stayed at the Holiday Inn and it was quiet, comfortable and had real breakfast.

GREAT TIME BEACHES NEAR & GREAT,RESTURANTES ,CASINO CITY NICE & CLEAN @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Very good location for what we needed. Great staff.

This was my third stay here. I like the atmosphere, and the rooms are compact but comfortable, well maintained and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. I like the location near the center of Mayaguez, rather than in the resort hotels on the coast. The old main square is one block away, and it's convenient to the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, where I'm usually visiting. I don't usually have time for the amenities, such as the pool, so I can't comment.

The hotel is a great value. The location is in downtown. The staff is friendly and helpful. My stay was for business. I was pleased overall with the hotel.

El hotel cumplio con nuestra necesidad d quedarnos por 1 dia en un lugar confortable ya q viajabamos de Guanica a Añasco. Utilizamos el servicio de lavandería, ya q veníamos de algunos dias de playa.

I've stayed here before I wasnt happy that I had to pay $8.00 plus for parking also the continental brakfast was a disaster both times I've stayed here the coffe is cold the bagels were still frozen

I like the hotel the only thing that is annoying is the Catholic church bells. But also we left a pair of shoes in the room and asked later for them and they where not found.

The hotel was not what I expected at all. The pictures made it look nice and you have to pay for parking in a lot across the street. I only used it to sleep and shower it was OK for that.

We stayed here one night only as a stop on a road trip. The staff were very helpful. Our room was ready and waiting for us. We loved the antique touches left from being a monastery. Parking is not onsite, but at a parking lot up the street. However we were given plenty of time to unload our luggage and take it to our room parked out front. I read about views of a courtyard from the rooms, but not all rooms evidently because ours did not. Breakfast included a big pot of cream of wheat that was a treat. I would have liked hot water and tea bags included since I'm not a coffee drinker. Also surprised there was no juice, just a fruit punch.

Perfect location in the downtown Party all weekend!!

Staff was super friendly! The cafe was great to have in the lobby. Good wine and pasta. Location was great, right next to the town square. Cathedral bells chime a bit too early and you can hear them from your room unfortunately.

The overall experience was good. In my opinion, the hotel needs to improve customer service to become more attractive, improving the conditions of the rooms (offering coffee maker, but no power to connect it). For the rest is good and could staying again.
