. This was hands down the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. A few reasons why: -stained and soiled bedsheets -fungus growing in kitchen -room in total disrepair -showers with mould -dirty rags left in guest wardrobes -disgusting customer service from staff (no rooms ready until evening, 3 different attempts to provide a clean room, verbal abuse) -hotel policy for guests to empty their own bins not advertised (or else there's at 50 Euro fine) -requested a refund after 3 unsuccessful attempts to provide me with a clean room but hotel policy 'not to do that'
I understand everyone has different standards when it comes to hotels. With that being said, I was not happy with my stay at this property. I can give a quick pros and cons list to help anyone who is thinking of staying here. Pros: -Breakfast selection was surprisingly good (Especially the coffee) -Most rooms come with a balcony -Great placement in the city. -Comes with a stove and microwave (and utensils) -Relatively quiet, with the exception of the traffic (Nothing they can do about that though). -Free wifi Cons: -Rude employees at check-in desk. -If there is a problem with your room, it will take forever for them to fix it. Our entire floor had no air conditioning for two weeks and had no hot water for four days (Stayed for one month). -Breakfast is expensive. -The maids are inconsistent. While they would drop off towels frequently, they would forget to do other tasks, like restocking toilet paper and soap. It came to the point where they just totally stopped changing the bed sheets out. -They will charge you a 50 Euro cleaning fee if you leave any dishes dirty when you leave. -wifi was weak and constantly had to sign back in to use. -Etc. Overall, I would probably not stay at this hotel again just because of my frustrating experience. Not an awful place, but there are definitely better hotels to spend your nights in Marseille.
Well the beds were very confortable, quite room, nice air condicitioning, and it is close to the city center, metro and buses and more close to the nice market just at the corner, we can get anything there they are everyday only for few hours and then it is free to walk all the way to the city center
This hotel is not luxurious, but actually one of the best options in the area. The small kitchen is adequate, the rooms are spacious. The curtain pole fell down and they quickly sent someone to fix it. If you don't want to spend a great deal of money for almost the same service and level of comfort, this place is fine. Cleanliness should be improved though. They clearly have problems with housekeeping.
We returned home from this hotel today after staying here for 1 week. The first room we were offered had a few problems so we spoke to reception and we were moved to a better room with a balcony this time (previous room had no balcony). The reception staff were really helpful and we were offered free breakfast every day of our stay due to the upheaval of having to move rooms after 1 night. The room was clean and had nice little kitchen (although I did have to clean the fridge and microwave before using). Aircon was great and very much needed. The balcony looked out over a little square and a bit of road so was nice to sit out on each evening. My only complaint would be that the balcony and furniture were really dirty and I had to buy some antibacterial wipes to wipe down the chairs. The hotel is conveniently located near a Metro station and 2 supermarkets (Carrefour and a Leader Price - a cheaper supermarket). They do seem to have a tramp problem though by the supermarket - we were asked for money every day. The staff were so incredibly helpful and the room suited our needs. We really enjoyed our holiday!
The overall condition of the hotel was a bit weary. The room was good for the purpose, but didn't like it very much. The breakfast was very poor, after 10 guests they ran out of everything and had to wait half an hour for the next small amount of food. The toilet was stinking, the bathroom wasn't really nice either.
We stayed at this hotel last year, it was ideally located for our needs I think we were lucky as our room wasn't so bad and we were out sightseeing the city for the majority of the days, but the bath leaked every-time you had a shower, which to their credit, the hotel staff fixed within 2 hours from us reporting the leak.
I found this hotel very practical to join different points of the town easily. The comfort in rooms is acceptable and there is also nice views of the rest of the town. It's a quiet place despite some noises from radiator for heat. I hope they will do something about it. The breakfast was complete and diverse. The receptionist was helpful for any information about the town.
Check into the first night, no pillow cases on bed, sheets not done properly with mattress showing, shower broken, fridge leaking. Change rooms the next day, only to find bedbugs all over the place at 3am the second night. Immediately booked a room at the Novotel next door for the last night. Still haven't heard anything from this place in terms of compensation (even though it was booked through Hotwire). Not to mention, the place was overall just dirty. DO NOT stay here.
Convenient kitchen but we were 4 so 2 had to sleep next to it. Only one beedroom and a futon in the space next to the kitchen. The beedroom was tinny and we had a balcony to a parking lot. Far from the beach, not the best location.
