Despite the Hotel being in the busy area of Bonne Veine; however sitting on the dining terrrasse which overlooked the race course and the golf course gave it a certain tranquility that was enjoyable. The service was superb, the staff always ready to serve with a smile- including Jonathan and a female staff whose name escaped me at the reception etc...One in particular stuck in our mind - look for 'Charli' the bar man, he went the extra mile forever willing to serve the customers well- he made our stay especial with his person centred cocktails which he had a way of finding out through his conversations. I gave a letter to hand over to the Hotel manager to the front line staff at the reception to express our gratitude and in making our stay pleasurable. The brunch - buffet style is worth having on a Sunday with varied sea food platter among other items on the 'formule'. The swimming pool is heated, so one can have a swim late in the evening. Overall Very pleased - our room was fairly basic but the bed was comfortable and the housekeepers kept it neat and clean with change of towels. Be aware that the jacuzzi was closed at 5pm one day. The steam room and the sauna made up for it. Near by the town Cassis is a 'must see' with its numerous restaurants, the beach and the marina. Also one should see la route des cretes which is 500m above sea level and the view is simply beautiful on the way to Cassis.

We booked to stay here in July , the hotel made an error with our payment and took 10 times more money than they shoul have and then took the correct amount. Despite numerous phone calls and e mails to them, it has now been 3 weeks and they still have not refunded us in full. The accommodation manager has been trying to help but tbey still owe us a lot of money. We hope that if our trip goes ahead, the service at the hotel is better. I see that the director general of the hotel has responded to most of these reviews, we look forward to ours !

we were meant to arrive at the hotel on a but missed our flight so arrived on the friday, the hotel gave us complimentary breakfast in replacement for the stay. Also being pregnant i had quite a few odd requests which they were happy to help with. Although not in the main city centre i'd pick this location again as it is literally 5 minutes from the beach and if you want you can take a short taxi or bus ride to the port. Only negative is the rooms have no fridge so you either have to go to the bar or get room service, We simply asked for ice in our room for any drinks we had which they happily brought to us whenever we asked. The staff was great and the hotel was lovely.

We went to have dinner on the Thursday when there is music. The food was well prepared with tasty sauces. The service staff are friendly and efficient. The restaurant has a pleasant terrace. Over and above the quality the restaurant is sensibly priced. À restaurant worth the visit. A very plaisant experience well worth returning to.

I stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip to Marseille. Hotel was very comfortable and staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Good restaurant and bar menu for lunch and dinner and comprehensive breakfast buffet. I would recommend. Ten minute cab ride to the Congress Centre.

Stayed at the Golden Tulip for 3 nights during a conference in Marseille. Great location - five minutes walk from seafront and beach, and 15 minutes to Rond point du Prado by bus where there is access to the metro and Parc Chanot Marseille convention centre. Room was large with a balcony overlooking the park and had a side sea view. Bed was comfortable and very big! Bathroom was also modern and again very spacious. Everything was spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and efficient, and breakfast was plentiful with a good choice. Unfortunately the pool and steam room was not available to use while I was there but this did not impact on my stay. My only disappointment was the lack of facilities to make and store drinks in the room - there was a coffee maker with two pods of coffee and two disposable cardboard cups, but no fridge if you wanted to store cold water/fresh milk. As I don't drink coffee I would have liked to be able to make a cup of tea or hot chocolate on an evening. The bottled water was also not replaced after the first night. I believe drinks could be ordered from the bar or on the room service menu, but given the price of the room I would expect these amenities to be included. Overall, a very pleasant hotel, but be prepared to buy drinks/snacks from the shop across the road if you don't want to pay hefty room service charges or go to the bar.

Came for convention, so accommodation was tight - and expensive. Chose somewhere a bit out of town, but easy to get to the sights and the old port by taxi or bus. A short walk past the racecourse to the beach. Lovely weather, so very easy to sit in the sun, drinking, watching and working out what version on Moules to try next!!

Stayed here whilst attending a conference in Marseille. 4 nights. The rooms are a little tired and the showers are a bit of a pain. They soak the room if you are not careful. However the staff are very helpful and friendly. The food was good. I only ate breakfast there but that was very good. It takes a bus or taxi to get to most places which are about 10 mins away. Overall, good rather than very good.

Room was acceptable, clean & wide. I liked the breakfast buffet which stays till 10:30 am. Internet speed was acceptable, the staff are friendly & helpful. There is a turkish restaurant in front of the hotel but other than that there is nothing around, it takes around 15-20 min by taxi to reach vieux port.

I got there with a short notice. Just requested a quite room. The receptionist was extremely helpful and gentle. He got me a room that was a little more expensive then the average but that was overlooking Marseille's horse racing track. It was very quite and I could relax and work in absolute peace. The personnel of the restaurant/bar are very helpful and gentle although professional
