Clean and comfortable hotel in a good location right on the Port. Nothing fancy but had a good stay. The Metro is right by the hotel as was the tourist office which is where one of the tour companies picked up from.
very nice hotel, location perfect to visit the city of Mareille Buses and metro near by and lovely view on the "vieux port Reception desk perfect , very friendly and helpfull, possibility to store the luggage
It is a Great location, with a good price, and a fabulous staff. Walkng distance to great cafes, and shopping. The tour boats are just in front of the hotel to take you to Chateau d'If. Very clean and safe.
Stayed here on business for one night. Its right on the seafront and close to bars and restaurants. I stayed in room 502 which was lovely with an exceptional bathroom and power shower. The room was well decorated and clean. The staff were very helpful especially the lady and man at reception who helped me set up my Wi-Fi and lady helped me organise a taxi back to the airport. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice with croissants and eggs and bacon. Again staff were very helpful and courteous. A one minute walk onto the marina with stunning view of the moored boats and sailors selling their fish and goods. Would stay here again. Merci beaucoup.
My husband and I stayed at the Escale Oceania for two nights in early August, 2017. Check-in was very pleasant and efficient. The woman at the desk ws very kind and welcoming. The lobby is very small and so is the elevator, but the room was great - adequate in size, clean and comfortable. The hotel is centrally located in the Vieux Port area which makes it perfect as a jumping off point for anything one might want to do. The only minor negative was the air-conditioner which didn't work as efficiently as we would have liked, but we were comfortable during the hot weather during our stay.
My daughter and I stayed for 4 days in July. The staff without exception were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was on the 4th floor and although not large, was clean and comfortable and the shower exceptional. We had a small balcony and a view of the Old Port. The position of the hotel is Ideal being close to bars and restaurants as well as the ferries. The metro is just over the road and the busses and trams are also very close. We were not disturbed by noise at night and found the air conditioning very efficient. We did not take the very reasonably priced breakfast offered by the hotel as we preferred to sit outside. We enjoyed our stay and would have no problem in highly recommending this hotel
Unfortunately last day before we leave. Air condition was broken but it was fine sleep thru night . It's true. Anyway location is excellent. Unfortunately weather too windy which cruiseboat cancelled.
We have just returned for 2 nights at this hotel watching the end of the Tour de France. Firstly, excellent location, right on the old port. We arrived and were told by Sally that our rooms were ready at 10.30am and we could have them. Great start. The staff couldn't be more helpful. If your looking for a mid range hotel in an excellent location, you wont do much better. Thanks to Sally and the staff for everything. Great city.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Karim and Sally at the front desk were extremely helpful and gracious. The hotel is comfortable, clean, and very conveniently located to the Vieux Port. The housekeeping was immaculate; the breakfast is more than adequate (the usual croissants, coffee, tea, hard-boiled eggs, sliced cheese and meats). We needed a cab for a very early morning trip to the airport, which the hotel arranged, and everything went very smoothly.
We flew to Marseille from London and caught public transport to the hotel which was pretty straightforward. As you head out the airport the buses are to the right of the terminal. You can buy tickets from the machines which have an English option on. Buses leave every 15 minutes and take about 25 minutes to Saint Charles railway station. The cost of a return ticket is 13 euros. From the train station head for the Metro. The machines again have an English option. You want one solo journey which is 1.70 euros. You need Metro line no. 1 and the direction you are heading in is la Fourragere – 2 stops to Vieu Port. The exit you need is Canebiere, as you come out of the exit you will see the hotel. A taxi on the other hand would be about 50 euros. The hotel is in a great location for Vieu Port, lots of bars & restaurants within walking distance. Look out for happy hours. The various boat trips are available from a short walk from the hotel. It takes about 15/20 minutes to walk to the beach, and it’s a nice walk passed the harbour. We had a room on the 6th floor that was clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served on the 5th floor and was a very good selection of fruit, cereals, croissants, bread, cheese, eggs that can be boiled, scrambled eggs, fruit juices, teas and coffees – enough to keep you going for several hours. Staff were friendly and helpful.
