Heat didn’t work. Poor room design. But staff was nice and close to station.
The hotel met my expectations. I loved that it was close to the train station. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and a wonderful window that spanned the room. My only complaint was the room was cold and the room thermostat couldn't be raised about 25 c. It put a damper on what I think is a wonderful hotel.
I was only there one night, though I wish it were longer. On any issue the staff resolved the problem in MOMENTS: for example wi-fi connectivity and the replacement of an empty non-working little refrigerator with a working one. The room was big, the bed was comfortable. There was a desk to use with an appropriate chair. The decor, though a tiny bit worn, had this classic woody mod 20th century look that was rather pleasing. Check-in check-out, information questions answered were all quick, efficient and, dare I say, charming.
Fridge did not work and stuf did not help with resolving the problem
Beautiful room. But breakfast is expensive and there is no self-service laundromat.
A nice hotel, very close to the train station and pleasant walk to the center of town. I thought the breakfast was very good. Climate control in the room was a bit of a problem. The staff, however did whatever they could to be helpful. For example, I needed an electrical adapter, and they found one to lend me. In the future I will surely remember that the UK uses a different voltage than Europe. (In fact, I found almost everyone in Manchester to be kind and helpful I couldn't have a map open for more than a minute before someone asked if I needed help.)
A good business hotel in the city centre, near to the train station.
I needed to see my daughter on my way from New York and wanted a good rated hotel without all the hassles of moving around Manchester. Trip from the train station to hotel is just about 3 minutes leisurely stroll. The reception is kind of tacky and the elevators have obviously seen better days. But the customer service blew me away. I came in a wee bit too early for check in but that wasn't a problem at all. I was promptly whisked to my room. If Manchester was cold that day, the smile of the guys at the front desk started an inferno. The room was good with splendid view of whatever I could see. Sleep was comfortable. Room service was fast and decent but I'm not the type for English breakfast though. I will definitely come back and the reception wouldn't be a deterrent although it is somehow shameful that such a grand hotel could look so tacky.
I was quite surprised just how good the room was at this hotel. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a stay in Manchester. The only slight downside is that it takes little time figuring out exactly where the hotel is. But, you can easily see it from Manchester Piccadilly station. I will certainly be back here the next time I'm in town.
This hotel was immaculate although I spent only one night. The staff is very professional and helpful. I enjoyed my short stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone.I am very pleased.
- I arrived at the front desk, knowing that the payment had been taken from my account in August, as is normal for [...]. Then after I gave the lady on the desk my name and reference number, their was no record of me paying for it. I then was asked for my debit card, so if they need to charge me for the room, then they have my card to fund it.- After some persuasion, I then asked for my room key and explained that they would have to look in to this in the back office, as it was so unprofessional to do this in front of waiting guests, and for them to call me for an update.- I got the call after 40 minutes, stating that they had made a mistake and that they had seen the payment made back in August from my account! - In the call, I was told that I would be expecting a call from the Reservation Manager, never got the call and will not be returning to the hotel, especially as Prostitutes roam to the side of the hotel! Many thanks,Carl
- I booked two months in advance and got a great deal through [...] Location is perfect for Manchester Piccadily or even a taxi to the airport is 20 mins, as close to main roads- Spa is great and fitness rooms are of a high standard
Easy short walk from train station and walking distance to city center!
