An old hotel on the best tapas bar street in madrid and less than 30 minutes walk from any of the main attractions and sites in Madrid, this hotel has been modernised but still retains features of interest, such as the glass floor in the breakfast area. The room was light and airy (we had a larger room with balcony to the street) with plenty of hot water and deep bath as well as good shower over. We had breakfast included, although this was a bit hit and miss as to whether there were plates to put the food on! But breakfast was served until midday at weekends so perfect for first morning after lots of hard work prior to our visit. With its ideal location and its own delicious food it was popular and could be noisy as the rooms all opened out into the central atrium housing the restaurant area, however this didn’t stop us from sleeping (well not me anyway!)
Nice place for lunch or dinner Although serving size is not big price is moderate. 4 servings + 3 drinks (just enough for 3 persons) for about 60 euro. Good for families although not child seats available. Its the inner yard of a hotel, a bit noisy but comfortable.
I booked this because the rest of my group was joining me a couple of days later. I'm glad I did. The staff was exceptional, helpful and friendly and there was nothing they weren't able to do to make my visit comfortable. There is a bar in the front entrance that got a bit noisy but the noise seemed to die down about midnight or 1am each night so wasn't too bad. Exceptionally clean room, and each room has its own configuration. Will stay here the next time I'm in Madrid
Nice small hotel with 17 rooms and a nice and lively restaurant and bar right at the entrance. We stayed in two larger rooms and due to some noise in one room we where swiftly relocated to another room. Stayed for a weekend in early February with family.
We stayed here for 3 nights in March and were very pleasantly surprised. Our room was very spacious (huge bed, large tv, nice bathroom, balcony) and spotlessly clean. Staff are great and the bar downstairs is really nice. Location is also excellent - we walked everywhere!
We decided last minute to take a long weekend in Madrid, this hotel was an excellent choice in price, location, atmosphere, and service. Its worth noting if you want to stay in a quiet place, this might not be the place for you, the rooms are on levels surrounding a restaurant courtyard, and this restaurant is VERY popular! We were only on the second floor, so I dare say if you were at the top (4 floors I think) then it would be less noticeable, not that it kept us up, we were so exhausted from walking eating and drinking that we slept like babies! The staff were above and beyond, what I mean by this is, they were happy and smiling! It's so nice to be in a place where people seem genuinely happy in their job! The bar area in this hotel is very small, but the measures a large, the food scrumptious and again it has a wonderful atmosphere. We did have an issue with our air conditioning, but a word to reception and it was sorted same day. The breakfast was delicious, lots of fresh farmhouse style bread, with jams and preserves, yoghurts and plenty of cold meats *The ham is amazing) They also cook to order from a small menu. All in all I have to say I would definitely seek out this hotel again, it is perfectly situated for the food market *One of the best places to eat!!* There are lots of bars and shops close by, it was a very lovely trip .
Our room with a balcony overlooking Cava Baja was stylish, spacious and comfortable. The location is excellent and we could walk to everything we wanted to see . Trip Advisor is asking me to add more detail but I think I’ve got it in a nutshell and I’m just padding this out so my review can be posted.
This hotel is well located in easy access to Madrid's main tourist attractions, there are some issues like the rooms at night are very noisy since the restaurant downstairs is directly connected to the rooms, fridays and Saturdays are very loud. Breakfast is very basic, I recommend eating breakfast in one of the many restaurants nearby.
The beautiful restaurant is tucked away in the end of the reception and behind the bar. One of the speciality is the cocido which is served in 2 or 3 services (soup, vegetables and meat). The price for the cocido including an excellent wine is 14,90€ per person. As an aperitif, we had some houmous and toast, the the first course of the cocido, an succulent broth with vermicelli followed by a very well garnished cocido. Second helping was also offered and so we did. That was our best meal in Madrid! Highly recommended...
Cool little place on a side street near Plaza Mayor. Four stories high over a medieval inn with the original building exposed under a glass floor. Small rooms and bathrooms, but clean with nice bedding. Delicious breakfasts and café con leche. Helpful staff. Street the Inn is on can get crowded, noisy and littered. Easy walk to Palace and Cathedral.
