The hotel was a 2 minute walk from athletico Madrid old stadium. It was nice and pleasant area and about 20 mins from centre.rooms were very comfy and the bed was just right for me. Food was nice and a reasonable rate and a mixed choice.
GOT ROBBED INSIDE RESTAURANT AND STAFF DID NOTHING Not sure about u, but whenever I pay to stay at a 4 or 5-star hotel, I expect their services and security 2b above average. If u do also DON’T STAY HERE AS THE HOTEL COULD NOT CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR SECURITY OR WELL BEING. This was the 4th or 5th time I used this hotel and surely the LAST as this one experience has been a HORRIBLE experience. DURING BREAKFAST MY BACKPACK WAS ROBBED FROM INSIDE THE HOTEL RESTAURANT and the hotel did nothing, simply nothing to support me or help resolve my emergency. Did not even call local police. They simply acted as if nothing had taken place. It was I who took matters into my hand, even without speaking fluent Spanish and started calling local authorities, in order for the hotel staff to do something. What disgusted and shocked me the most was the hotel managers lack support and cynical attitude towards me the event I had just been a victim of. Instead of supporting me as their guest, they kept arguing that the restaurant is a public space and they had no responsibility for my security nor my well being while I was in their restaurant. As per them, the only private area in the hotel is inside are the room. Meaning that If something took place with me anywhere in the hotel premises, apart from inside my room, the hotel had no responsibility. Shocking news to say the least, especially when there are no warning signs anywhere to say I should look after my belongings inside their premises and watch out for thieves. THINK TWICE BEFORE U BOOK
We booked though booking.com and checked in on Sunday 18th March 2018 as my wife was competing in the EMA athletics tournament. We paid extra for a junior suite as we were staying for a week. When checking in the reception staff took copies of our passports but did not require a pre authorisation of our credit card. We had been having trouble with the keys to our room and had to keep going to reception to get them Re-activated. On Thursday evening we returned to the hotel late and made our way to our room to find the key was not working again. I told my wife to wait outside the room while I went down to sort the key out. At reception, I asked for my key to be re-activated again. The receptionist then said that they had de-activated my key due to my hotel bill exceeding €500. I said “so you have locked me out of my room because you have decided that I need to pay my bill even though I have another three nights remaining?” He then insisted that I paid the €1400+ bill there and then. It was also commented that I had three bar bills outstanding too. I had been at the hotel for the previous 4 nights so did not feel that this was excessive. At this point 2 other guests came to reception with the same issue and they too were not impressed. My wife who was not feeling well, was left waiting outside the hotel room for nearly 15 minutes. The following day I asked to make a complaint and was simply given a form to complete. I decided to complete this form instead. I offered to pre-authorise my credit card when I checked in but was told it was not necessary. I booked on line using a reputable booking website which had all my details. I was not happy to be simply locked out of my until I paid my bill in full. It is common practice to settle your account on departure. It is as though they think I am going to try and leave without paying. This is very poor practice and needs to be addressed. Another issue today was when we went to the bar to ask for some fresh milk to make a cup of tea in our room. The waitress tried to charge us over €2. The junior suite is equipped with tea & coffee facilities but only little UHT milk pots. We also asked at reception but was told the same thing. We have stayed in many hotels over the years and never had to pay to have some fresh milk in our room. One positive was the young waiter Victor. He was really helpful and friendly and an asset to the hotel. Would I use or recommend this hotel in the future? Definitely not.
To begin with the restaurant doesn’t open until 8pm. We then had to wait 35mins to get a menu. We ordered 4 main courses. After 20 mins they arrived, one was correct. The one person ate their meal and then the other 3 arrived. Half way through eating their meals a bread roll was brought round! At 9.50pm we left as no waiter came back to clear tables or ask if we wanted dessert or coffee. I went to the reception desk and wrote out a complaint, as requested (this was the Tuesday evening). We left on the Thursday morning with no acknowledgment of the complaint. We weren’t the only people who waited hours to get 1 course. As you come out of the hotel turn to your left and the first restaurant you come to is lovely, the food and the atmosphere are excellent.
NH offer quality hotels and this is no exception. Everything from the staff the rooms, and breakfast are very good. This hotel is a short journey from the centre of Madrid.If you want a good chain hotel at medium prices then NH are a good option you always know what you are going to get.
Stayed for the weekend and upon arrival hotel looked smart trendy and clean. We was checked on quickly. Staff friendly. Went to our room nice big business type room. Plenty of space, great hot shower. The little sweets and water at reception are a nice touch. We booked the Madrid tour bus at reception. About a 20 min walk to the square with bars on the way for refreshments! Got a taxi back was around €7 Lovely little tapas on the same row Little supermarket also Would recommend
Superb hotel which is only a 25 minute walk to the centre - or get the bus that stops right outside for 1.50 euro. We were given a lovely, large room on the 7th floor which was nice and bright. The bed was huge and very comfortable. An excellent bathroom too - which was exceptionally clean and spacious. It was my partner's birthday whilst we were there. At breakfast, one of the waiting staff came to our table with a lovely birthday cake with candles etc and wished her a very happy birthday! We had not mentioned it was her birthday, so can only surmise that one of the reception staff noticed this during check-in and arranged for the surprise. This was an extremely nice touch and very unexpected! Breakfast consists of a very wide range of cereals, meats, cheeses, pastries, tortillas, fruit, juices, bread, desserts etc and we were really spoilt for choice. The coffee and huge range of teas was also very good. We would like to say a very special thanks to all of the staff who made our stay an enjoyable one. Everyone was extremely friendly, polite and helpful, and it made our stay all the more enjoyable and stress-free. We would definitely staff here again if we were in Madrid, and if all NH Hotels are this good then we will be probably book another for our next city break. Oh, and they have very fast free Wifi too!
We stayed for 2 nights and were delighted with our hotel room. Very modern hotel and the room was clean, large and bright. Spacious bathroom and luckily we were on the 7th floor with views over Madrid.
We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights ( 22/12/2017 - 29/12/2017) ! Its a big hotel , its seems new and is modern decorated ! We had room with river view ( i recommended ) ! The room was clean , big and quite ! The housekeeping was very good also the staff in the front desk , with polite and helpfull people ! This hotel is very comfortable for tourists , its has a bus station in 20 metres , in the order to visit the city center you will need only 10 minutes !
Lovely sized rooms. Gym is really well equipped. About 15/20 minute walk to plaza monument. Hotel staff are really friendly too. Only downside was there is no kettle in the room for morning coffee etc..
