All the reservation process was very well handled by the hotel service. I found the team really professional and helpful. I felt welcome by either the reception personnel, at breakfast and at the bar.
Our last visit we had an economy room a few years ago and it was fine. We booked a panoramic room this time.. asked for high floor.. were given the 2nd floor. so requested a change. There were "bits" in the bed, the bed linen smelt like hospital bed linen. The walls were painted a depressing dark grey, the panoramic window had curtains that didnt close so we called for this to be looked at and the rail fell when the maintenance man came. The shower was broken, the double bed was two single "on wheels" tied together and the bedside tables were both wobbly. Nice location as always but wont be staying here again.
Good location. Very central, metro across the street. Plenty shops, restaurants and bar options nearby. El Corte Ingles store about 10 mins walk. Pool & terrace bar closed during our visit (but was February). Rooms were fine. Good wifi. Pity no tea/coffee facilities in room. Breakfast buffet was ok but pricey at E14.50. Avoid mini bar, supermarket across street!
We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights - first night was absolutely horrendous and second night was okay. On our first night, we went out for the evening and left one of our key cards in the electricity socket, we come back to find our key card missing which of course we started to panic as it means somebody had been in our room, my partner went down to reception to get our key cards changed as we were scared someone would just enter our room during the night using our card - the chap on reception said "housekeeping probably just came and took it out to save electricity"...... this is not acceptable, especially as we had only got there that day and our room was already cleaned, so why were they in our room again and why did they think it was ok to take the key card? That was the first problem, and then the second (on the same evening) was realising how thin the walls are in this hotel!!! If you are a light sleeper, I really don't recommend staying here - the people in the room next to us, we could hear every word of their conversation and even their text tone!!! Then they decided to play loud music .... which isn't a fault of the hotel but obviously we could hear it as if we were playing it in our own room. At 1am (after being awake since 3am the previous morning) we had enough and called reception to sort out the problem, which they did. But it just emphasises how thin the walls are. The 2nd night we were very wary, but luckily didn't have anybody staying next to us. I've given the hotel 3 stars because of it's amazing location (1 minute walk to Gran Via) and also having a line 2 metro station right opposite - but I don't think the hotel is worth it's 4 star rating, maybe 3 stars. Only my opinion though.
We booked a panoramic room and we're given the room number 235. If you book this room type I would urge you not to accept this room when you arrive. The while room is themed under the sea, with projector lights to show under water theme, paintings of fish and dolphins on the wall and what can only be described as a 'cave shower' which is a paper mache structure with the worst shower ever. It's too close to the wall and has the poorest water pressure of any hotel I have been in. Most of the 'features' of the room didn't work like the remote operated curtains, the light switches and a bed that is placed on wheels on top of a blue glass floor (yes, blue glass - under the sea themed, remember). The staff in the hotel bar were the most rude hotel staff I've ever come across. One guy was particularly rude. He dismissed us, ignored our requests and blatantly walked away when we asked for drinks and food. He stayed away from the hotel bar for long periods of time and left half poured drinks on the bar for 15 minutes at a time while he walked into the back for no reason. We did attempt to complain about all of this and the bar staff but we're told there was no manager available until after our departure day. A truly awful room, terrible staff and a service that fell way short of any where near a 4 star hotel.
we had a room on the 3rd floor it was well decorated and very comfortable we had enough space for a couple the bathroom was more of a wet room than a bathroom please see pics below. it was in a good central location with easy access to a metro station and within walking distance of Gran Via, Opera, Puerta Del Sol.
The overall rating of the hotel is very good, check in very quick after a very slight hicup!! we were offered an upgrade room, and the room was perfect large beds 5 th floor and although we were in a very central area no street noise. The bathroom was spotless and large plenty of towels one little point one morning we had no fresh towels, but phone call to reception and they were delivered within 5 mins. Great central position virtually on the Gran Via and 5 mins. to Porto del Sol. All staff friendly. we didn't eat in hotel so no comments on this or Bar. Value very good and would have no problems in returning.
The rooms are adequate but hopeless if you want to iron something (a shared hotel iron with the shortest flex you can imagine covered in electrical tape and an ironing board as solid as a paper bag ). If you want tea and coffee there are no facilities in rooms so don’t bother. There are no tissues in rooms. One of the bar staff is the rudest, most unpleasant hotel staff I have ever come across, slamming his mouse into his computer in front of customers, ignoring customers for 10 minutes while he is on his phone, vacating the bar for 15 minutes at a time then barking at any customer near him. In contrast another bar staff is the nicest most helpful members of staff. This indicates weak leadership at the hotel. We were defrauded by the first barman and the manager had no idea this was going on. One night the night club under the hotel opened resulting in no sleep for hours and hours as clubbers screamed, shouted and yelled at the top of their voices. Do not go here if you want a good nights sleep
On Feb 20th I arrived at the hotel with a written confirmed reservation done on Jan 18th and I was informed the reservation was cancelled on the previous day. Hotel said there was a problem with the Travel Agency credit card and that sent they sent a message on the previous day to inform about this issue. Travel Agency informed they never received such message and argued that the hotel shouldn't cancelled the reserve without proper communication. It's not acceptable that after one month of the written confirmation, hotel present such argument without proper communication. DONT TRUST this hotel!
Absolutely loved this place . We stayed in a standard double which was overlooking the square, the beds were so comfortable ! Bathroom and shower were amazing . The location was brilliant , supermarket was just across the road main Gran Via was a 1 minute walk away with so many shops. You can get to all of the main attractions within a 20 minute walk . The only downside was no tea coffee facilities and only 4 English tv channels ( which were news) . The cave bar was brilliant cocktails amaxing and the bar tender was lovely. All staff really helpful .Will defiantly stay here again .Thanks for having us 😁
