Hi. This is our 2nd stay in this hotel. Once for business purpose, now 3 days for leisure. I'm happy I decided to be back to this hotel: ideally located, nice and confortable rooms, warm enough those days as it was almost freezing by night in Madrid, delicious breakfast and nice welcome every morning by the breakfast team. Which is a plus !!! Efficient service at reception. I made the booking directly via the web site of the hotel. Really competitive prices! I can't wait to be back!
I have double reservation and Hotel did not manage this issue and change me a room rate I did not stay. I booked 2 rooms and I did not stay this hotel again. When I stay in this hotel I explain our many time but they don not solve.
Situated in the heart of Madrid, the Hotel Santo Domingo was a perfect base from which to explore Madrid. The open-top bus stop was only two blocks away, two Metro stations were within 100m and you could easily walk to the royal palace and its magnificent gardens, the cathedral and a host of cafes, tapas bars and restaurants. The hotel itself was tastefully decorated, well maintained and the staff friendly. Our room was small, but the price was low and we could have had an upgrade to a much larger room for an additional 30€ a night. We also passed on the buffet breakfast at 14.50€ in favour of coffee & a croissant. No complaints
First visit and would return! We upgraded our room and our room was overlooking the hanging garden so was wonderfully quiet. Room lovely and comfortable with nice modern decor. Had a couple of drinks in the lobby bar and prices were very reasonable but didn’t purchase any on the roof top as drinks are sadly extortionately priced, which is a huge shame as the views are sensational. I would expect to pay a bit extra but not the prices they charged. Everywhere was walkable, Plaza de Santa Ana, San Miguel Market, Plaza Mayor, Puerto del Sol, Royal Palace and Gran Via. Lovely cafes, restaurants and bars with lovely seating areas outside. We were so fortunate with the weather as was high 20’s in middle of October. Perfect for people watching! Get booking as a perfect stay!
On arrival the recptionist suggested an upgrade to better rooms by paying 40 which I agreed....We were given two rooms in front of building room numbers 240 and 244. The noise from the street could be heard all night and to make it worse more noise from building workers in front from 7 am. We all slept very badly..in fact I slept only 2 hours fitst night
Checked in a 3 adults and were given a very poor room with very little room. Asked at reception and friendly lady offered us a better 'suite' for the same price. They showed us the room and moved us which was great. New room very nice good beds and 2 bathrooms. Courtyard balcony mini bar etc all very nice. Hotel bar also good and breakfast quite good value also. As all reviews check your room and ask to move if not happy. Seems to be a big difference between the quality of rooms. Really well located for restaurant theatre bars shopping etc and opposite the metro. Ideal for a weekend break in Madrid.
A very comfortable hotel in a great location a few metres from Santa Domingo Metro station (line 10). Highly recommended for a city break - 5 minutes walk from Gran Via. A very tasty breakfast buffet too! Excellent view from the roof top - complete with an open air pool in the summer
Nice hotel, next to the center of Madrid, walking distance from everything and metro station directly opposite. Small problem, the pool was closed. Gourmet restaurant good but disappointing breakfast and too expensive
We had a lovely 5 days stay. The hotel were fantastic organising a wheelchair to use for the duration of our stay. The room was a good size and the bathroom shower was fantastic!. Fabulous location to visit all the attractions and pizzas and restaurants. Shame the roof terrace was closed and swimming pool it was certainly warm enough to keep it open for a longer season.
It’s hard to compare To US hotels but location was great, rooms were small but acceptable, carpets stained but clean, staff was friendly, I would probably stay there again unless I found a better one cheaper.
