Hotel Petit Palace Santa Bárbara

I spent 3 nights in this hotel, which is located in a great area of the city, walk distance to all the main attractions of the city but still a less touristic area. Room was a double use single, quite clean and new. Street view, not on the Santa Barbara square view, but was fine. Enough space in the closet, good beauty/care amenities in the bathroom. There no common area on the hotel, only a quite small area for check-in/out. The breakfast area/restaurant is small but nice, cozy and waiters are quite good and supportive with requests. There is also a open bar area in the middle of the hotel but during winter I suppose is closed due to cold weather. Wine selection at the restaurant is good, and prices are extremely convenient. I suggest this hotel for their location, and the good standard of their rooms.

I love this location-- you are steps away from tons of fun in Chueca and Malasaña plus right by a metro station. The receptionist was too cool for her own good and some of the design elements are just that-- design carried out without function being prioritized. For example the night tables were more of a danger that a useful piece of furniture. Still I will probably stay here again.

First time staying at a Petit Palace. It's no frills but was a great experience. The hotel was clean, the staff really on their game and super friendly. This location is also particularly great - there is a specialty chocolate shop around the corner. I would definitely stay there again.

The Hotel offers a very good breakfast, nice rooms and is worth the price. Good connection with public transport. Going out in the hip Chueca neighborhood is close by. Also good shopping possibilities all within walking distance.

the rooms are big but ours had a very small window, food quality very good and healthy, staff very friendly although the reception and communal areas are not top. It's a hotel to be conveniently placed in a busy area and close to just about everything and shopping street (Fuencarral).

Very interesting hotel, part of a boutique chain. Friendly and helpful staff, good Wi-Fi, clean rooms (yes, some of them like ours can be a bit noisier if pointing to the street but not to be unexpected if you chosen to stay in a central location, when we closed the windows there was no problem with the noise at all). Tasty and healthy breakfast, nice options, good coffee, attentive staff. One of the staff, Desi was even speaking our language and gave us very good pointers about attractions, food, etc. Our room was spacious, clean, bunch of channels on the TV (not many English channels though but all major news outlets were present). Well working airconditioner and a laptop was present in the room for Web surfing. Comfortable bed, safe for valuables, modern batchroom - all major points were ticked. The even better part was the location. We literally have not used any transport except when going to Toledo/Segovia and needed to catch a train. Alonso Martines metro station is 100m from the hotel. We felt safe all the time and we were very happy with our stay. Will definitely stay in this hotel again if by chance we visit Madrid again.

It is amazing hotel. Very clean and the hotel room like new. The reception staff are very friendly , helpful , and active. We were 5 friends and the room is big enough for us. The location is very good. The metro is just steps from the hotel and the hotel close to Gran Via.

The breakfast was very good and the service was great! The room was clean and the hotel location is good. The reception gave us a router for WIFI and it was very good and helpful. We will come back!!!

My wife and I have stayed at the Petit Palace Santa Barbara several times, and would stay there again. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is terrific—they’ve given us great tips on local places to eat and drink, and have helped with all our other logistical questions about Madrid. They even printed out our boarding passes for us. Breakfast is expensive (€14 per person), but worth it—a truly lavish spread of high-quality food, including eggs cooked any way you’d like them. There’s a little bit of noise from the street, but it’s not bad at all. If you want a completely quiet room, though, ask for one on the inner courtyard. The location can’t be beat, either. You’re just a few steps from the Alonzo Martinez metro stop, where 3 lines converge, and not much further from Tribunal, where you can catch, I think, 2 other lines. It was a 20-minute walk to the Prado, through the interesting Chueca neighborhood, which has lots of alluring boutiques and wine bars. We highly recommend this hotel. In fact, we plan to go back next summer.

Great hotel. very clean and tidy, the staff is very responsive and helpful, The location is great 10-15 minutes walk to the center, very close to a metro station. We had the balcony with city view - very nice room, and great view. The shower is open, and lots of water spills outside, creating a problem when you exit the shower, and the floor towel that is supplied is soaked in this water.
