Stayed here 3 nights with my 2 adult daughters, room only. We were given an attic type room which was prettty big (though my tall daughters banged heads a couple of times on low ceilings!) 3 beds, good size bathroom. It was very hot during our stay and reception advised we leave one of the room keys in slot so that air con would be on all day, so that meant the room was pleasant temperature. There was just one very small window, so high up that we couldn't see out of it. Disappointed that 2 of our 3 nights there, the outside courtyard area was closed to residents because of private functions. We would have liked to have a night cap there.
Positives: Excellent location on the doorstep of Malasana and Cheuca. Lots of great restaurants and shopping near by and minutes from Gran Via. Room was large, bed very comfortable with plenty of pillows. Efficient silent air con and wifi was good. Large walk in shower with good water pressure. Nice outdoor courtyard with a bar and dining. Staff were friendly. Negatives: Breakfast was a bit haphazard. There are two members of staff working the breakfast room and they spend most of the time fighting to keep up with what's needed. Each day I had to ask for more plates, cups, cutlery, water in the coffee machine, more bread or just find a clean table to sit at. There seemed to be a shortage of crockery. The large Nespresso coffee machine is totally inappropriate for this type of property. It's too complicated and most people spend some time trying to work it out before using it which just holds up the process. The amount dispensed for each cup is ridiculously small meaning people were having to go back and forth several times which of course meant there was always a queue. I'm sure the hotel things having Nespresso is a selling point but it's actually not. In the morning people just want a good cup of coffee thats quick and easy. A simple bean to cup machine would be more appropriate. On one day there was a selection of bread, the next just a brown loaf, the next just white baguette. Inconsistencies in what's being offered on a day to day basis needs to be looked at. There were however plenty of small fancy things in small fancy glasses which looked nice but no one seemed to be touching. All very nice but get the basics right first then focus on the fancy.
Modern and stylish hotel with exceptionally helpful staff. Great location for exploring Madrid too. Good healthy breakfast and a nice courtyard bar. Very comfortable beds. Nothing too much trouble. Definitely recommend.
Family room was massive and the kids loved the bunk beds in the separate area within the room. The breakfast was nice and fresh.hotel is in a nice area with plenty of bars and restaurants in the area.
We stayed here for four nights recently to attend a family wedding. The rooms are well equipped, comfortable and very clean. Ours overlooked the internal courtyard which was lovely. The hotel is convenient to walk to many places. For us the outstanding part of the holiday was the interaction with hotel staff, from the team on Reception, to the breakfast room staff who had eternal patience explaining how the coffee machine worked, to the cleaning staff - all were delightful and their English language skills put my meagre Spanish to shame.
Stayed two nights in a calm, modern furnished, comfortable room oriented to a side street. Attentive, helpful reception and service, very good restaurant with outside terrace to patio and bar, calm in comparison to lively quarter outside. Really enjoyed the evening menu as well as the big breakfast buffet. Prices very reasonable! Hotel is well located, close to bus and Metro station and many places are within walking distance. Happily come back when in Madrid.
When I asked laundry service I didn't write material for request because I had not written it at previous hotel and I didn.t know that. However I think your staff in counter didn't show such offensive attitude to me and I was so disappointed.
This is a very nice hotel in a great Neighbourhood in Madrid for alternative shopping, close to museums and nightlife. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And the room was very comfortable and quiet.
This hotel was a last minute find and pleasant surprise! The staff was extremely helpful, great property and ideal location (i.e. nightlife, markets nearby and great walking distance from much of the City). I'd definitely return.
There are many reasons to recommend the Petit Palace Santa Barbara, and the first is the amazing front desk staff. They were incredibly helpful in so many ways. They had a smile for us every time we came back from a long day touring Madrid. They had band-aids and first aid kits for blisters. They had recommendations and directions at the ready. They were everything you would want in a hotel staff. The air conditioning was a blessing as the temperature was 103 degrees everyday we were in Madrid. Unlike other hotels, you could leave your card key in to keep the AC going all day. There was a laptop in the room. I have never had access to one in my room at any hotel around the world. The waterfall shower was extremely relaxing and the blow dryer and vanity mirror were great extras. They provided you with all the amenities and toiletries you would ever need. You cannot go wrong with this hotel.
