Me and my husband came back this year to the same hotel because we liked the service. We had no doubt to stay here this year. The hotel is near to Gran Via,restaurants and also shopping stores. The customer service was excellent,Claudia,Conchi,Barbara,Patriiciia and Isabel. We had to leave the hotel to go to Paris,Venice and Canary Island and our luggage were kept ind a safe and honest place. Defietly we will come back next year and recommendee it to our friends.Very friendly.
This review is long overdue but I truly had to take the time to leave a small note as we were treated so well at Hostal Ballesta and really loved visiting Madrid! The hotel is affordable and located in a great area close walking to restaurants and bars and shops, right by the centre! The hotel is rather small i think no more than about 30 rooms, we had a doubles room reserved, and there is free wifi throughout the entire hotel. Just excellent staff and hotel.
We stayed here for a week in November 2017. It is in a fabulous location, just a few minutes walk to Grand Via. Lots of working girls in the street but never felt uncomfortable with them. After a while you might get a smile or a nod of recognition! The rooms themselves are clean and reasonably well equipped. Housekeeping was efficient. There are no facilities for tea/coffee in the room but there is a machine which will vend a tiny coffee for 50c. Our aircon didn't work, neither did the international channels on the Tv - Overall - good budget hotel in great location
Perfect location for metro, bars and restaurants. Friendly staff. Room clean, tidy and bathroom seemed newly fitted. Samsung TV and decent air con. Lovely touch was the free mini bottle of fizz on arrival! Would stay here again if coming back again to see Real Madrid.
Stayed in this hotel for 1 night. Ticked all the boxes - Near a metro station, cheap, clean, relatively comfortable bed, aircon, quiet. Lady at reception very nice. Only one thing to warn you about - Prostitutes all down the road the hotel is in. You can ignore them of course but they are there. A good hotel of coming to watch a game of football and staying one or two nights
A basic but clean hotel in the centre of Madrid, within walking distance of many attractions as well as bars and restaurant. There was always plenty of hot water for showers. The room contained a double wardrobe, with hangers, but no drawers. The TV had English channels and the beds were comfortable. If we go back to Madrid we will return to Ballesta.
This is my third time to stay at Hostal Ballesta and it certainly won't be my last. The staff are efficient and friendly and the accommodation is clean and comfortable. It is fantastic value for money considering its central location, everything is just a short walk away. I have read the negative comments about the working ladies that are on the street outside but they don't bother anyone and they are on most side streets in Madrid and also on some main streets too. This should not put you off staying at this property. On my return to Madrid I will definitely be staying here again. Thank you for making our stay a great experience.
I previously reported there was no air con, however, later I found the switch and the room then was comfortable and quiet. There were well priced restaurants nearby and very close to the shops and main square.
Nice size room (Room 102). Nice staff. Relatively clean room. Convenient location. The staff also doesn't bother visitors if you're having friends visit (like many hotels in Spain do). The "working girls" outside the hotel are harmless and it's really not a sketchy location regardless of what some people say. The walls are also not extremely sound-proof but this is a nice, reliable place to stay and I'll stay here every time I'm in Madrid.
Great location. A little noisy outside sometimes but that doesn't bother me. Room was pretty clean overall and spacious (room 102). Reception doesn't bother you or your guests so that's also a good thing. Great, reliable wifi service. I'll stay here again and again when I'm in Madrid.
