I stayed in this hotel last week on business. I found it to be a basic hotel that I would say was suitable for a one night stay. Breakfast was nothing to get excited about and for evening meals, there is a shopping complex about 300 meters away with a number of restaurants. Unfortunately, these restaurants do not have an English menu and no staff spoke English.
Had to stand and wait literally 10mins for 3 people to be checked in before us. Cannot understand why in the UK budget hotels where you have precooked check you in far more quickly. Spanish systems very ‘clunky’. Lady on reception very pleasant and professional, felt it was not her fault. Our room had a horrible stale smell to it, although clean. Suspect someone had been smoking in a non smoking room....One of the bedside lights was not working and the toilet seat was very loose. Comfy bed. BUT This place is looking increasingly tired. We have used it for several years but will be looking at alternatives for our next trip.
We picked this hotel as normally a Holiday Inn are good. This hotel we had stayed in some 5 years ago as we had visited the Warner theme park and we thought we would go again so we reserved the same hotel. Its easy to access from the motorway, there’s a Mc donalds and a shopping center and also a petrol station and a few extra things in the area. Its recommend staying here if you are going to the theme park as its only 20 minutes away. The only down fall of the hotel it is now very dated i think it needs a refurbishment as the interior in the room are not what i would expect from a Holiday Inn Hotel as i have stayed a many and can compare the difference between this one and others. The staff were helpful, free parking and wifi so I cant complain to much as for a couple of night it was fine.
The hotel was a little further from Madrid central than I thought, about a 15' bus ride to get in close enough to catch the metro (Calle Conde).. The hotel rooms were clean, small European style. Nice big eating area where the family and I played cards one night, drinking wine and beer purchased from the near by Aldi's. Continental breakfast typical European cold cut fare, but adequate. Maria, at the front desk, was very helpful and friendly on travel advice and answering questions. Did get accosted in the parking lot by a lady with a "faux emergency", needing money. Not first tourist to be sucked in per Maria.. oh well. about 15 minutes from the airport at 0430 in the morning, likely longer if later in day.. Huge parking area, free, unusual in Europe, but attributed to romote location on outskirts of Madrid..
When we arrived and checked in we were given a room that stank of smoke, so we asked for another room and were given the room 105 (20 steps away from the reception). The room and bathroom had hairs on the floor everywhere - it was clearly not cleaned or vacuumed properly. It took me a while to get rid of them all - had to scoop them up with a toilet paper one by one. Absolutely disgusting. The conditioner didn't work either - it was unbearably hot in the room, so I had to open the windows. The windows faced the car park so the noise of people walking, talking, leaving, car engines starting, car doors slamming started pretty much around 4am. What's even more upsetting is that the receptionists knew how close some of the rooms (including ours) were to their desk and nevertheless they were making noise up until 2am when I asked them very rudely to shut up as I couldn't take it anymore! Just imagine that - you work at the hotel, it's midnight, you know people are sleeping, and still you decide that it's a great idea to drag a few chairs across the tiled floor, start vacuuming at 1.30am or talk to each other at maximum volume that is considered shouting in most places around the world. Like, seriously people @ Holiday Inn?? Where is your common sense?? Basically all together I had 2 hours sleep - that's all I managed to salvage between the moment when the receptionist went quiet at 2am and the car park started buzzing from 4am onwards. Great isn't it?
Reason for booking was the close proximity to motorway links and this proved to be the perfect choice for that. Room was of the standard expected for an overnight business stop and the same applies to the breakfast which made for a good value for money stay. Staff were very efficient and seemed very professional. Only downside was that there was no facility for an evening meal. However, this enabled us to discover a fantastic restaurant inside the Rivas Mall 3 minutes walk away. So perhaps it did us a favour. Would certainly stop again especially now aware of not just the motorway links but also the attractions of the Rivas Mall.
Typical holiday inn style hotel. English speaking staff made life easier. Checked in during the middle of the night, and the staff arranged for a local pizza place to deliver us some food which was a nice touch. Clean rooms, decent continental breakfast and lots of free parking.
This hotel is not better or worse than he average Holiday Inn Express hotel in Spain: not that clean (especially dishes in the breakfast room), rather old and some pieces in urgent need of renovation (such as shower head in the bathroom). At usual prices it still makes quite a good price/quality ratio, but I paid quite a high price which did not make it worth it. Biggest problem, and reason for a downgrade of my opinion is the large number of buses which cause lots of nois especially if you have a room on the ground floor. Furthermore breakfast was a total circus with a large group of children taking over the entire space. Not my idea of a quiet start of the day in any case!
The staff was very friendly and efficient. The room was just ok. Rather dated although the water pressure was wonderful. The breakfast was very good; good selection of not only bread products but fruits and meats as well. Parking was horrible with coach busses in the lot as well.
We arrived mid-afternoon and the reception staff were very helpful as none of us spoke a word of Spanish. The rooms are clean, facilities in the room are all functioning. Beds are well made. Breakfast was from 7.30-10.30am. The usual cereals, tea, coffee, toast, croissants of various kinds, cold meats. Overall you pay for what you get and I think staying here out of the city it's nice, pleasant and quiet considering your only 10 mins away from city centre.
