Excellent location, great design Thanks to Philippe Starck. Cool rooftop. The Wifi was a bit weak but not a big deal and the bed not fully at my taste but everything else was a perfect for me. I'll come back.
5 stars ? YES, indeed ! May be, some guests would prefer som more "glamour" and infrastructure (pool etc) etc. But, we had a perfect and very agradable stay, because it´s the service what makes the difference: polite and friendly, efficient and quick, ...: muchas gracias!
Very clean, security is top, and staff is really friendly. Will recommend to anyone. Breakfast is really good. Will go back with family or friends. The location is great with only ten minutes drive to downtown. You even can walk to the stadium.
Traveled here on business for two nights, the hotel itself is quite nice if a little unremarkable, standard business hotel I guess. The rooms were a little bit dated I felt. The guest wifi didn't work with my name so had to use the public one which was ok so no big deal. There was no complimentary bottled water in the room, I still can't understand when hotels do not do this - it just feels like a cheap tactic to make you use the overpriced water from the minibar. Lastly it was the smallest bed I have ever seen in a hotel room, two single beds! When I called reception to query this they just said that was the standard so pretty much tough luck! All in place was fine for a couple of nights but any longer would not be ideal.
I stayed for 3 nights over Easter weekend. From the moment we arrived to check in (early) the staff were amazingly polite and helpful. The bedroom and bathroom were nice, well-sized for a twin room. The buffet breakfast was very good; a huge range of food that tasted lovely. Again the staff at breakfast were friendly. There's a little gym on the roof terrace. It has a few pieces of cardio equipment, barbells and some weight machines. We had no problems at all during our stay. In terms of location, it's a very quick ride on the metro/bus/taxi to the centre of town. There's a metro stop just outside. It's a 30-minute walk to Prado museum. It's well-located for 2 recommended restaurants; Lateral (a local chain but serving excellent tapas) and La Gabinoteca, which is slightly more upmarket and trendy. I would definitely stay at Hesperia again.
We were impressed by the amenities provided in the beautifully decorated rooms--not only did we find excellent hair care, dental, shaving, and other supplies but also a scale and sitting stool under the ample counter and sink. The hairdryer was easy to adjust and handle--one of the best I have ever used. Everything was top quality--decor, shower, cabinets, towels, and most important, the bed. We enjoyed the variety of fruit, pastries and meats in the breakfast room. The staff throughout the hotel were pleasant and knowledgeable. This is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at in thirty years of traveling.
Clean and spacious rooms, frequent towel change. However, staff was not very helpful in a sense that we required one of them to speak in Spanish to our driver and explain some details for him .. She refused and didn't want to call nor speak with him as we were offered the same ride by the hotel at double the price.
Arrived at the hotel and were greeted by a very lovely lady who was friendly at check in. This trip was booked as we were celebrating my partner's birthday therefore a pretty special week for us. 1. We were offered breakfast at the restaurant for a price of €27 which seemed pretty expensive but we were given the choice to take it or leave it. 2. When we arrived in the room, naturally I wanted to check out the view from the window and unfortunately it was a brick wall which made it feel prison like. When we booked this holiday there was no information about the room facing a wall otherwise we would have booked a different one. 3. I rang reception straight away to ask how much it would be to move to a different room however I first got told a price of €60 which then turned into €200 per room per night which was just too much on top of the amount we had already paid!!!! 4. I feel like this is extremely disappointing as we are repeat business customers and the hotel was nowhere near to its full capacity over our stay and I have had complimentary upgrades on many holidays, especially if facing a wall. This is mildly disappointing as we are not going to return to the hotel or recommend to our friends or family. 5. We had eaten out at a local brunch cafe almost every day (I would highly recommend doing this) however on the last day we decided to book the breakfast as it would make it easier for airport pick up. I rang reception and wanted to confirm the breakfast at the original price quoted of €27 however the woman said it's €30 instead. I explained we were quoted a different price but apparently it's only for the people who book the breakfast for the whole stay, not just a day or two. I explained we were not told about this and after being rude and actually laughing at me down the phone, the woman said she would honour the price of €27 which I was grateful for. 6. When we arrived at breakfast, the service was great from the gentleman doing the coffee and orange juice (not sure of the name) however when we went to check out and pay for the breakfast the price was €59 for the two breakfasts so the price was not honoured!!!!! We had no time to explain to the person at reception so we paid it as the transfer was waiting, I know it's a small difference of around €5 however it is all about the principal. This clearly proves they just pull prices out of thin air for different customers which is just unethical. 7. I will also be emailing the hotel about this as I would never expect this from this standard of hotel.
When I choosed Hesperia Madrid I was expecting a good hotel, tipically from Visa Luxury selection and when I arrived i found much more... It it a classic 5 star hotel, with discrete and well designed decoration from the lobby to the rooms. My room was very good, spacious and a delicious welcome sweet reception table was ready for me and my wife. The bathroom is an experience, from the upscale amenities to the soft and big towels, The "piece of resistance" was the Cava and Cake on my wife´s birthday!. The staff was extremely nice and always available, specially Mrs. Guerreiro. I will surely be back on my next trip to Madrid.
Lovely polite and helpful staff, particularly front door gent and check in. Looked after our bags until check in opened whilst we explored Madrid. Helped find locations we were looking for and explained the best way to get there. Nice room, love the aroma of NH hotels (think they all use the same scent). Nespresso machine and 'to go' cups - good idea! Really massive comfy pillows!! Winning! Happened to check in on my birthday (didn't mention it) and later that afternoon a cake (with candle) arrived - how awesome! What a nice gesture. Thank you! It's a 20 ish minute walk to the centre (we like walking) but the metro station is 1 minute walk from the hotel. Starbucks opposite with nice staff too! All in all very good, will recommend.
