We booked a junior suite for the 3 of us (husband, daughter, and me) instead of 2 rooms at a less expensive hotel, and sprang for the pricey breakfast as well. Everything was terrific, from the immaculate and comfortable and quiet room to the Godiva chocolates on the pillow to the friendly concierges to the location right by the Gregorio Marañón metro stop. And the breakfast was amazing--fresh fruit, cheeses, jams, great Serrano ham, bacon, tortilla española,....also, the air conditioning worked really well, essential in July heat! We are so glad we stayed at the Hespería Madrid and would choose it again in a minute.
We stayed in this hotel for three nights and cannot fault it. A very nice room with a large, comfortable bed.The restaurant area where breakfast was served was very attractive. We didn't have any meals other than breakfast in the Hotel but breakfast was quite an experience. All very good quality, immense variety of foods including international items such as green tea eggs, ( we didn't try them!). Clientele seemed mainly business people but there were some tourists. Would definitely stay there again. There was no kettle in the room but it did have a coffee maker but I think you had to pay for the pods.Underground station and bus very close to the hotel. Don't miss Museo Sorolla ten minutes walk from the hotel.
I would give this hotel a 6-star rating were it possible, because it raised my expectations of hotel quality for the rest of my life. The room was spacious and immaculate. Nice touches like fresh flowers daily, and thorough housekeeping daily made the room extra special. The staff were the most professional and helpful I have ever encountered. Their attention to every detail. The breakfast was divine, with a selection of hot food, fruits, cereals, yogurt, bread every day. We also partook in the Hikari restaurant one evening and the service and food were unparalleled. It was the most luxurious experience of my life, and it was very difficult to leave. The only criticism possible was that it was a little distance from the centre of Madrid, but it is steps away from the Metro, and taxi service takes you anywhere in the centre in 10 minutes.
Stayed 2 nights as Insight guest and 3 nights as private guest. We're offerred the chance to stay in same room but took the opportunity to move. Our extra three nights were cheaper booking directly than paying through insight. The room was bigger, had a better view and a turn down service. The floor also had complimentary lollies and fruit near the elevator. Dining area was better as a private guest and seating area was different. Maybe they think everyone wants to eat together on tour. Gym was good although quite warm for Spring. Air conditioning in gym needed improvement. Another running machine would be good. Unfortunately women feel safer in a gym than on the street in a strange city.
Wonderful staff. Classic hotelier service. Actual silver cutlery & silver domes room service ... and 100% linen napkins. Excellent choices at breakfast including the biggest Muesli selection I've ever seen (Bee pollen, Chia seeds, all manner of seeds ... etc etc) All the modern comforts you can imagine and more (Ten pillows to choose from on the bed, Natural sponge, Bulgari bath products, espresso machine & paper cups to go, tie rack ... etc etc). Small touches I've not even seen at the Four seasons & Ritz Carlton ... and those two are very creative. Fresh flowers everywhere. On every floor in the hallways. I had 3 different fresh arrangements in my room alone. Tip: Try to book directly with the hotel. You may end up being upgraded to an enormous room. Or to a room with a Terrace & Jaccuzzi like we were!
The hotel exudes luxury from the moment you step inside; fresh flowers everywhere are most welcoming. Rooms are more than ample sized and the amenities are amazing. You have your own slippers and fluffy robe, along with a dental, sewing and shaving kit, a scrubbie for the shower, shower cap, q tips and cotton balls. It is the only hotel in which we stayed that had a coffee pot and coffee service, and the towels were extremely thick and fluffy. Breakfasts, as in all of southern Spain's hotels, is most amazing and more than ample. It is also the only hotel in which we stayed where air conditioning was on before you stepped into the room. In all other hotels you first had to be in the room to cool it down; when you left the room the air conditioning also ceased. Not so in this hotel. We will stay here again!
This hotel is very nice, the staff is paying attention to each and every little detail. The breakfast is rich and fresh. Everything we needed here at the hotel was provided quickly and efficiently. They even provide you the next day's weather forecast with a couple of chocolates on the bed every day, nice gesture :o)
My niece and I stayed two nights in June 2017. We were part of a tour and were happy with the hotel service. The staff we accommodating and helped with dinner reservations. Great location within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. We recommend!
We are staying in Hesperia hotel in Madrid for a week. This is the warmer five star hotel we have stayed ever. The price was right. The service was so friendly we felt like in the family. Everybody was caring for our wellbeing. With hot wether out side this was our refuge.
Another short stay at the Hesperia. Never had any complaints, service has always been excellent. Quality of food is very good. Location very central on Castellana. As I mentioned before the standard rooms are quite small, functional but small. So I asked whether any upgrades were available. They offered me the executive penthouse suite, I just did not think it was worth for me to pay the extra as I was not going to spend much time in the room. I was given a standard room, but end of the corridor as it has more light. Not sure about this. The room itself faces the inside court of the building, which is quite dark, and it has quite small windows. The bathroom has a large window, which makes it light. Also, the bathroom in these rooms is larger.
