Was in Madrid for a long weekend. The hotel is a little out of the city centre but easily accessed by metro stations (Alvarado Metro nearest and 5 mins walk, took about 10 mins to Sol Square) I had a one bedroomed, spacious clean and comfy. Extra pillows, blankets etc in wardrobe. Rooms Living are and bedroom, air-conditioned and worked well. July 2017 the hotel is going through refurbishment, so work men in the corridors, but didn't start till 9am and noise was minimal.. No kettle in the room, although 2 ring stove, pans to boil water, fridge with ice box and other self catering stuff, No tea or coffee provided, but many supermarkets within a 1 min walk. The hotel has an irons and ironing boards and decent quality irons too. Many small bars and restaurants nearby and a great cafe with Deli, 50 meters on the left, great for breakfast.
We went to see Real Madrid play and this hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the stadium. All the staff at the desk were welcoming, friendly and helpful. There are numerous bars and restaurants close by with bus stops and taxis on hand to take you further afield. The rooms were large, comfortable and very clean. The only downside is if your room is on the main road it can be a bit noisy through the night with the bin collections. I am coming back and certainly wouldn't hesitate to use this hotel again.
The hotel is well located, only 15 minutes from The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The apartments were very nice, clean and well spaced. The reception was friendly and helpful with 24 hour service. The only downside was that there was no bar or food, but there was plenty of local cafe bars around
Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of October. Our reason for visiting was for a Real Madrid match the location for this was great around 10 minute walk. Not really a tourist area struggled to find places to eat where staff spoke English. Hotel was very nice room was big and was a lot better then i thought it would be especially for the price paid, staff was very pleasant helped us with any queries. Metro line not far away we bought a 4 day pass what was around €28 but that got us everywhere would advise to do same.
We have stayed in the Espahotel Basilica a few times over the past years and will stay there again on our next visit. The staff is great, friendly, and very helpful. And, they are in the process of remodeling the hotel. Highly recommended if you will be staying in the Cuatro Caminos area of Madrid.
A good hotel at very reasonable prices is to be found at the Espahotel Plaza Basilica.Excellent facilities and a spotlessly clean apartment made for a very pleasant and comfortable stay for two days. What an advantage to have a kitchenette with utensils for making drinks and meals if needed! A short walk to the underground and to the Bernabeu Stadium makes this hotel a very convenient place to stay.
I spent 3 nights at this hotel in mid October 2016, and it was fantastic. The staff were fairly friendly (not all spoke English), the room was really big (we stayed in a studio) and the location was perfect. Minutes away from one of the biggest shopping centres in the country, the beautiful Santiago Bernabeu stadium and a main metro station. Room was much bigger than expected and had essentials (towels, shower gel, shampoo etc), we had a safe in a nice big cupboard alongside a kitchen which was tucked away nicely. The TV had many channels, even some in english. The view was disappointing and the bathroom door was a nightmare (could open from the outside but not the inside once locked, i even got stuck in for 10 minutes when the handle would not turn to open the door, if i was on my own that would not have been a great experience). We had two single beds which were ok, we were also able to use two very comfy, warm blankets which was a plus. The mattress was firm but comfortable, it felt supportive but still compact (not as cheap as i expected, this is coming from a bed salesman too!). That was sat upon a firm top leg bed too which was easy to move luckily, as behind it was access to one of the only, very limited plug sockets. Overall I would recommend the hotel, lovely room, great location and cheap for what you get! (free wifi too, always a plus!)
We spent 4 nights at this hotel in the 2nd week of September. Not sure what to call it, because we booked it as a timeshare exchange through Royal Holiday, who called it Apartmentos Plaza Basilica. Either way, we had a very good stay! We had room 102 on the 1st floor. There were 2 small elevators, but we mostly used the stairs. The room was in the rear of the building and we had no outside noise issues. The room itself was very nice. In addition to the bedroom with 2 single beds and a closet, there was a sitting room with chairs, 2 tables and a sofa. There was also a small kitchen with a mini-refrigerator. The bathroom was modern, with shower, tub, toilet, bidet, hair dryer and sink. The people at the front desk were all extremely helpful, and answered all our questions. When we told them we needed to do laundry, they directed us to a self service laundry about 2.5 blocks away that was very convenient The location is away from the main tourist areas. The street itself is fairly quiet and there are many, many little markets, bars and cafes within walking distance. Nearly all the people we saw or interacted with in the area are locals, and the whole general area had an extremely local feel, compared to the touristy downtown area. There are 4 metro stations surrounding the hotel, but none are really close, as each is a 10-15 minute walk away (we found Alvarado to be the easiest). The metro will take you anywhere you want in Madrid. We had a very comfortable stay at a very nice hotel!
The hotel is really clean with friendly, english speaking staff. Metro lines are ~10 minutes on foot. It is a smoking hotel, sometimes you can smell it, mostly on the corridors, but it is not too discomforting. We were updated to a suite instead of a studio because of a full house, which was a nice touch, so thank you! A/C is good but a bit noisy, wifi is available but not too fast.
This is a small hotel in a great neighborhood. Walking down the street, we were the only tourists in this neighborhood, which is walking distance to the metro station Cuatro Caminos. We had a very nice room (suite) with a small kitchenette. There are many restaurants on Calle Orense, and the major department store, El Corte Ingles, is just a few blocks away.
