Met at the lobby with a great check in experience after a long drive in. Got the room fast, and dinner recommendations. That night I met the hotel manager--"OJ"--who provided a very positive perspective of how he values every guest who stays at this hotel. His staff mimics that attitude...my room was always spotless. Thick towels are folded like at a five star hotel. The morning breakfast is a good meal. Eggs, sausage or bacon, good biscuits and pastries, cereal, coffee juice, plus fruit and yogurt. All the electronics and ventilation systems worked in my room without error. Everything was clean and polished. Hallways easily accommodate wheel chairs and walkers as do the doors to the rooms. Elevators are available as well as baggage carts. I had a good and big bed. Extra blankets in the closet. Nothing went wrong...and if anything had, I think "OJ" would be up to fix it himself. So this hotel won the Platinum Award in 2017. I think they deserved it. I had a great experience....2 thumbs up for business travel or personal travel.
We were in town for my son's retirement party at the AF base, this hotel is located very close to the base and right across the street from the Aviation Musuem. We picked this hotel because it was the closest to the base and to my sons home. The room was clean and comfy, great heat and great air conditioning if needed. The room had a mini fridge , a microwave, which came in handy. Free breakfasts in the morning, good selection of food. All the employees were very helpful and very friendly. Kudos to the entire staff! In the evening they made fresh baked cookies, a real treat and much appreciated. We had a room on the first floor ,right next to the elevator, but never heard any noise. The bathroom is very small, the sink is outside of the bathroom. My only complaint is the lighting at the sink , it is very dim and makes it extremely difficult to apply your makeup. One other little complaint, the road to get into the hotel is not very visible in the dark, there is a very tiny lighted sign at the entrance, and I mean very little, wish they had a bigger lighted sign, I can't tell you how many times we missed it and had to U turn, lol. All in all, we will definitely stay again when visiting family in the area.
I never know how to rate some places. This is not the best place I have ever stayed, thus I cant give it a 5, but this hotel was the best place there is to stay around here. It is older, but clean and the staff was very friendly/helpful.
I have stayed at many Choice Privileges motels. This is one of the best I have stayed at. The rooms are clean, roomy and comfortable. I have been at this location for almost a month and have been very pleased with the customer service shown by the staff. They are very helpful to recommend good places to eat. They have a list of all local restaurants that includes the direction to travel to each and also the distance to each location. When I checked in, I asked which restaurants on the list were good places to eat. All of the ones that were recommended were good places to eat. The staff is also very helpful to recommend anything that I need in the area (souvenirs, Christmas lights, etc). The breakfast has all the normal items and is a great way to start the day.
The first thing I need to say about this hotel is that all of the staff I interacted with were very friendly. That doesn’t happen everywhere, and it’s certainly worth note. Well the building does not appear to be new, it is well kept and nice. There is a no smoking policy throughout the hotel, Which is a plus for me, though some may not like it. The bed was comfortable, and unlike many hotels I’ve stayed in recently, the towels were still soft. I love soft towels. Of course, the review could not be complete without mentioning the breakfast. I was very pleased. There are scrambled eggs and either bacon or sausage. (The scrambled eggs appeared to be the type made from that egg-in-a-carton stuff, but wasn’t bad. It’s what I mostly ate.) There was breakfast cereal and milk. While I was there, it was raisin bran, Froot Loops, and frosted flakes. The milk was 2% or whole milk. There were biscuits and country sausage gravy. There were various pastries and bread. There was prepared oatmeal, as well as packets for instant oatmeal. There were three different brands of yogurt, two of them light. There were two Belgian waffle maker‘s, one standard and the other could make for miniature waffles. There were also two types of waffle batter: one standard, and the other cinnamon. Both were delicious. There were also boiled eggs, bananas, apples and oranges. Drinks included orange juice (that wasn’t that great), apple juice, cranberry juice (that was great) and water. The breakfast hours were reasonable: from 6am to 9am. Of note, they also had water with lemons and apples in a basket available in the lobby. The fitness center has one treadmill, one weight machine, and one other machine. I can’t remember if it was a bike or an elliptical or something. There is an outdoor pool, but it did not seem kept up while I was there in November. It is probably seasonal, but it was not covered or drained. There is also a business center with two computers and a printer. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and am glad I chose this hotel. *(In full disclosure, I’m still at the hotel, so if something terrible happens before I check out, I’ll have to leave another review. But I don’t expect that.)
Very clean and quite, the staff was friendly, wonderful breakfast, beds were comfortable . The facility was well maintained. We were well satisfied with our stay. We will certainly use this hotel in the future
I called to make a reservation and asked about pets. I have a parakeet. I was assured that this hotel was pet friendly and I made the reservation, was emailed the confirmation. I got a call from the hotel the day I was to check in saying that this hotel doesn't accept parakeets. Now I'm scrambling to find alternate accommodations. I should have been advised ahead of time and not told just hours prior to check in.
I travel a lot for my job. I've been to a lot of hotels. I've stayed in some dumps and some high end luxury places. While this hotel isn't a luxury hotel it isn't anywhere near a dump. What makes it great if the staff. They are extremely personable and accommodating. The rooms are clean when you get there and stay that way. There is an excellent restaurant within walking distance, a pool in the back and free breakfast in the morning. They have extended stay rooms with kitchenettes. If you are working or visiting the base it's easy 3 minutes to the gate. I definitely recommend this place for anyone starting for a while or even just passing through.
Nice stop off of interstate 75. We always try to stay on a tight budget but expect quality and comfort and this delivered both. We showed up late and couldn't take advantage of the pool but it looked very well maintained and clean. Cookies on arrival for the kids was icing on the cake. We will definitely make this hotel a priority while traveling from Illinois to Florida again.
This is a return visit for me. The décor is a bit outdated, but the rooms are comfortable and the hotel is relatively quiet. The breakfast area is kept clean and well stocked. Given the hotel's proximity to Robins AFB this is an excellent choice. And, by the way, they have warm cookies in the evening!
