First of all this hotel was so bad that I did not even get to stay in it. I made reservations three months in advance and the last day before flying out to Peru I get a message that my reservation has been cancel. To this day I do not know what happen and why my reservation was cancel. No one was able to help me out and I ended up staying in a different hotel at no fault of mine. Bad service bad communication bad everything. Don’t book here they will cancel your res.

Excellent hotel! Perfect location! Great service! Highly Recommend!!

The staff at the hotel is simply outstanding! They are warm with a friendly smile, and go out of their ways to make you happy. Given the claimed star rating of the hotel, improvement opportunities exist in food service (we booked the all inclusive rate). The breakfast buffet is average and could be improved in both quality & variety (my benchmark here is the breakfast buffet at Tambo del Inka in Sacred Valley). The lunch and dinner are ok. The menu lacks variety. The tastes could perhaps be improved without increasing the calories. Tried both classic and passion fruit pisco sour. Only average. I have tasted better pisco sour with many different creative toppings elsewhere on the same trip. Overall, an outstanding hotel with outstanding staff at a unique location. Our experience here was substantially better than that at the Belmond Miraflores Park.

Yes, it’s expensive, but well worth the splurge. Get a room with a terrace if possible. The location is perfect. Staff is excellent as is the food. A perfect place to spend a birthday. The Belmond rocks!

How many times are you planning on going to Machu Picchu in your life? Probably just once? In that scenario, if you’re not a hiking nut it’s worth the money to just save time and energy and stay at the Belmond. They even hold your bags and let you shower there after you’ve checked out earlier that morning.

Once in a lifetime experience, perfect location, and beautiful grounds. I am a simple guy so the service was way over the top for me. Location just outside the Machu Picchu gate so we were first in line. Quite expensive, but once in a lifetime....

Amazing hotel. Right at Machu Picchu. Location, Location, Location. Food Excellent. Yes, it is expensive, but exxperience of staying at Machu Picchu worth It. Highly recommend.

Everything is excelent. Great location, and great service !

The hotel is nice and comfortable. The service and food are outstanding…the location is everything ! No views of Machu Picchu from the hotel or the rooms.

The only reason to stay here is to have easy access to Machu Picchu in the morning. There is nothing special AT ALL about the hotel itself. That being said, the staff are amazing and very helpful.

When we arrived in Aquas Calientes, it was pouring rain. A welcome sight was a representative from The Sanctuary lodge - compete with umbrellas and help with transport to MP and our luggage. Super breakfast but then again, paid a lot for it!! Dinner at lodge was average - especially for what they charge. Nice rooms, great location and help from staff - especially arrival and departure was extraordinary!!
