Exactly 29 minutes walk from city center. Maastricht School of Management just 3 minutes walk. Bus no 1 can take you to city center and the bus stop is just in front of the hotel. Breakfast is excellent. Very nice staff except the old reception person working late at night. Clean rooms. Coffee and tea with a cattle in the room. No free bottles of water.
REALLY Great hotel breakfast variety was EXELLENT already looking to book next year spotlessly clean everyone in our group really liked the hotel and venue would recommend highly this was the second stay at the NHS Maastricht and we all enjoyed it very much the staff were very helpful and friendly could not recommend this hotel any more than it deserves don't think I would go anywhere else as we visit friends in Maastricht every year so this is the place to stay folks brilliant
to be added to the title, in plus of unpacking and packing again and unpacking again : bath room with hairs kept in the bath tube, as well for the first night as for the night after, no extra toilet paper changed from a night to another, kleenex not operable after the change of an empty box - all we had to ask to be fixed ! Very pleasant breakfast, and very pleasant staff at the restaurant.

first off: the hotel isn't bad, the rates aren't outrageous. I don't think the personnel is well trained, or it is mistrusted Two things bothered me: 1) I booked a room through their website, which was convenient and simple - except for the fact that, as it seems, one is lured into prepaying, which is a thing I hate to do for various reasons. As I understand, the website slyly changes a caption from 'Pay at the hotel' to 'Prepay' for your stay or something similar, when 'there are no more rooms at that rate for paying at the hotel'. I'm not even quite sure what that means, but one is not made clearly aware of that. It had no effect on me this time, but: It's SLY AND NOT UPFRONT 2) Since I had already paid, I thought should be able to get a receipt: Negative. I would have to wait until they could add the room charges. So I would think that I could go to the bar and room-charge: No deal: they needed my credit card info to allow for a deposit charge. What is up with that??? Why can I not get get my invoice for an already paid stay, if everything else is going to be charged separately anyway? This is a provincial way of running a hotel - not something I expect from a fairly established hotel chain. I think this is due to poor management. Real hotels get your credit card info at check-in and allow you to charge whatever, because they get their safety deposit right then and there.
We celebrated New Year here this year and it was absolutely amazing! The rooms were very clean and spacious and the food was excellent. We had dinner and breakfast there and both were really good. Even though the hotel was fully booked, it was very quiet, even at New Year's Eve. The hotel is not very far from the city center and if you want, you can even walk to the center. The reception staff is very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Overall a great hotel and I would stay here again if I visit Maastricht.
This hotel is about 20-25 minutes walk from Mastricht center. The main strength is location where it is located adjacent to the MECC convention center, close to the University and the large hospital in the area. Train station is also very close. I stayed 2 nights on business as my company booked me here. Wifi is free but extremely weak in that you could barely use it for messaging / email. There are no charging / electric outlets next to the bed. You can't even disconnect the lamps to use the sockets. The only socket is on the desk not bedside. Not convenient for the smart phones. Room, bed and bath are basic. The furnishings is very dated. The tub has a simple shower, due to the glass screen door on the tub a little difficult to get out. I am guessing people must have slipped. A business hotel I expect a modern shower stall. No bath robes. The breakfast was good. The first day I wasn't told that we could order made to order omelette. I saw bikes and scooters for rent, didn't have time to check them out or the gym. Overall basic/bland if you need to be near the congress center.
As the hotel is conveniently located opposite the Maastricht hospital that I unfortunately have to visit regularly because of my wife's medical condition, I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions. It's high time that I write a review, because it really is an excellent place. It's such a relief to know that whatever the hospital has in store for us, I never need to worry about a comfortable place to sleep and a good meal. The hotel itself is really good: it has everything you could need, and it's modern, well-organized, spacious and clean. But what really sets it apart is the staff. These people go out of their way to help you out. My first very positive experience was actually when I wasn't even a guest. Because of her treatment, my wife couldn't stomach the hospital food and we randomly went to the adjacent hotel around noon to see if something there appealed to her. At that time, both the breakfast area and the restaurant were closed, but the staff whipped up a fresh, healthy and delicious 'brunch' for my wife regardless - free of charge. They haven't let us down since. From helping to find a lost keychain to allowing me to take meal from their very nice dinner restaurant over to the hospital - they do it all with a smile. In my experience, that attitude is somewhat rare in the hospitality industry in The Netherlands. If you need to be at the hospital or, hopefully, for something more fun at the also adjacent MECC convention center, this is absolutely the place to be. And because it's only a short commute to the city center by bus (stops in front of the hotel) or train (3 minute walk to Randwyck plus 5 minute train journey) it's also a solid choice for a weekend trip to Maastricht. I don't give out perfect scores very often, but the level of service merits just that.
Second time there for the University, and this is perfectly located. It is 20-min walk to the city center, or 5 minutes by train. It is efficiently run, quiet, and clean. The breakfast is very good. No complaints with anything.
Arrived at the hotel late in the evening. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and spacious with great facilities. Decided to have breakfast in my room which was fresh and of a good standard, also had room service which there were no issues. Had a meal in the restaurant where the staff were welcoming, as it was mid-week it was quiet but the food was lovely and did not take long to arrive. Would stay there again if I found myself back in the region.
