Stayed here on a recent business trip and had a great experience. Superb location (ask for room overlooking the Rhone) and facilities were excellent. Ate in the hotel restaurant due to time constraints and selection and quality of food was very good for a hotel restaurant. Great location for visiting the beautiful city of Lyon. Friendly, helpful staff will help your experience.

I stayed there for a week in a Business Trip. The hotel is really nice, the beds are amazing and the staff is super friendly. Breakfast is good, you have to pay extra for it but they'll charge it to your room. Lot's of good options. Rooms are really comfortable and Beds are amazing! I had a really nice sleep. If you're getting a room you have two options with a view to the city and the river (Which I recommend) or with a view to the Park. The biggest downside of the hotel is that the Gym is not up to the quality of the rest of the amenities, but you have a huge park to go for a run.

We came to stay at Lyon for 3 nights on our way to Paris. Convenient location with 10 mins from train station and 2 mins walks to bus stop. Hotel has no parking, u have to pay for parking 2 euro per hr or u can buy daily one stop pass for 15 euro per day. Be very very careful about the P2 parking entrances, so narrow, lots of vehicle scratch their passenger side of car against the bar on the right. The bar is below drivers visible area, so be careful if u use this parking structure. Unfortunately, most of restaurants are closed due to Xmas holidays. Didn’t plan ahead for Lyon, then “Dong” the front receptionist gave us the best of best local information to tour around the city, old town the church, art museum, best dine in town. I would definitely recommend this hotel/ Dong to others travelers!

We visited Lyon for the first time and stayed at the Hotel Crowne Plaza. It is a very modern hotel in an upscale complex. Our room was very clean and attractive with a view of the courtyard. Staff members were very attentive and assisted us with our questions at the desk. We traveled from the hotel to Lyon downtown by bus which we were able to catch just to the rear of the property. The buses run regularly. There are several restaurants in the complex as well as one inside the hotel itself.

Room was cosy and clean, with all you need. Nice bed, temperature set perfectly. Neighborhood is quiet, yet not far from the city. But one thing: staff and service were way above average. Nice and professional, like we haven’t seen in a long time! Congrats!

Probably the best Crowne Plaza I have ever been to. Modern, clean, well appointed, very nice room as well as common areas. Could easily be a 5 stars hotel as far as the property is concerned. A pity the service was not up to the standard of the hotel: - check in took 20 minutes, only two person of staff and hotel was full and peak time (18.30) - no priority was given to IHG members - I am a Platinum, what should I do, shout it out loud that I am supposed to go first? Or think that 10 people ahead of me were all Platinum? - also at breakfast, cups were missing as well as some food was not replenished. Many tables were not ready. Hotel was clearly full but under staffed. - Dinner was not bad but again took two hours because of lack of staff. Staff was always kind though, just couldn’t keep it up. There is a parking beneath but hotel has no agreement with it and paying at the hotel is far more expensive. You need to pay each time at the cash-point of the parking, which is a bit annoying. Overall I would have no doubt and go back next time.

We had the opportunity to stay in Lyon for 3 nights in November. The hotel is very clean, in a safe neighborhood, The hotel is also reasonably priced and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone whether travelling for business or pleasure.

We arrived by bus from the central train station-very easy and only 1,80 euro each. Check-in with Franck was easy and pleasant. I asked for a 2 pm (14h) check-out and received without any issue due to my Spire status. We checked in and went to our room-#705. Upon arrival, I was very impressed with the 2 room, 1 ½ bath suite, which I had booked so no real upgrade. The room was clean and looked very welcoming. The air worked fine even though it was chilly outside but muggy inside. I really liked the retractable blinds that could shut out everything or let in just enough light. Thus begins our issues. Just above us was the 24/7 workout room. Boom Boom Boom! We arrived at the Executive Lounge at 6 but I realized from my emails with staff at the hotel that it didn’t begin until 6:30. A young man reentered and left a bottle of red and a bottle of rose but no white wine. The snacks included peanuts and some bread with pate. There was no attendant. I called down when the red wine was empty and another bottle was brought but again no white. Basically, the executive lounge was a joke. There were 2 or 3 at most other people there. Finally, after I called down again around 8 (20h), I went down to the front desk and then to the restaurant where I met Frederique. I found out her name the next morning. She gave me a bottle of white wine and said not to come back! I took it to my room where I had taken the 2nd bottle of red wine from the lounge. Since we were tired and really ready for bed, we only drank one glass from the bottles so I returned them to the empty lounge. The next morning, we headed for breakfast in the restaurant since Franck said we could eat there as well which was not what the emails told me that I had received in response to my questions before our arrival which said we had to book breakfast or eat in the lounge. The lounge breakfast was decent with scrambled eggs, meats, pastries, juices, etc., but when we stopped by our first morning for more coffee, nothing had been touched so fully wasted food. The second morning when we stopped by, we saw that some food had been eaten but not much. Upon our arrival at breakfast in the restaurant, Frederique came running over to apologize for the issues the night before with the lounge. I thanked her and received top notch attention from her and genuine concern. We were doing a Beaujolais Nouveau tour the second evening and did not get to experience the lounge so I have no idea if it were any better, but I doubt it! Our breakfast the second morning with Frederique was as fantastic as the first. We returned to our room and relaxed before our checkout since we had not returned from our Beaujolais Nouveau tour the night before until 2 am. In conclusion, Frederique and Franck were fantastic and made our stay even more memorable. They need to either improve the lounge or just get rid of it! We will definitely return to this hotel on a future visit to Lyon. They recognized my status but the lounge itself was the big negative!

it was one of my best stay , very nice clean hotel , rooms are comfortable , very friendly and helpful staff ,good location very rich breakfast ,, I strongly recommend this hotel for everyone visiting Lyon

This was our first visit to this hotel and it is very good. It is located alongside the river and is in a very open area. We were en route from Calais to Nice and this was a convenient overnight stopping point. It is right next to a large conference centre and behind there is a large area with restaurants and shops and a theatre. Quite a well developed area in fact. Our one criticism was that they would not allow us to bring the car to the door of the hotel to unload. I fail to understand why as there is a huge open area there and it would not cause anyone any problems at all. We had to go down into the multi storey car park and this was a problem because the place was full and we had to park at the very bottom - where there is no lift. This did cause us quite some difficulties as we had heavy bags and there were steep steps. They really do need to change their access policy for guests to unload. I am a senior citizen and nearly gave myself heart failure trying to get the cases up the stairs. I could not have managed on my own. As to the hotel itself, for some reason the hotel's own restaurant was closed on a Friday evening. Extraordinary. The staffing at the bar was somewhat intermittent - I had to go to reception to get someone to come and serve us a drink. Breakfast was good but expensive - make sure you get a tariff inclusive of breakfast. The room was excellent and of the standard I would expect. I would stay here again.
