Excellent service during our stay, from valet parking to in room dining and bar service. Rooms were clean and hotel in super central location with most things in walking distance including a well stocked supermarket across the road. The reception also willingly extended our check out time. Free Wifi also very powerful. The breakfast was poor though. We did turn up half an hour towards to end of the serving but that was no excuse to have many offerings out of stock and then for the waiter at the end of the session to have the cheek to ask us to hurry up?? Not ideal for a lazy Sunday breakfast. We ended up having second choices for all the breakfast we had. And this is why the hotel missed out on 5 stars.

I liked very comfortable double beds, for my two kids too, in the same room. My kids loved the pool in the -1floor. Hotel location is very good. I would like fresh salad and vegetables during breakfast.

This hotel was perfectly placed for our four day trip to the lovely city of Lyon. The Opera House, old town, Basilique, markets, Confluence centre, rivers and the beautiful park to the north east of the city are all easily accessible. Our party included both walkers and strollers and we found public transport allowed us to visit all these places. The hotel itself is spacious and well appointed. The rooms were large; bathrooms roomy and clean; and there is a small pool and gym. All staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were fabulous! Huge choice and croissants must get a special mention - melt in the mouth delicious. There is a good restaurant in the hotel as well as a good choice of different eating options within walking distance. The only negative point is the bar prices which seemed very high and put us off using it. This was a shame as it contained a pleasant seating area which we would have used in the evening. However there are fridges and kettles in the room and a supermarket just outside the hotel. All in all this hotel was a good choice for a large group and I do recommend it.

I visited Lyon for a weekend trip, and I stayed at Mercure Lyon Centre Saxe Lafayette. The hotel is good and close enough both to the railway station of Part Dieu, and to the city centre, to allow walking to either destination in around 10 minutes. The room was OK - large but sparingly furnished (small table, no writing desk, not so comfortable chair, good light level, very good bed). Isolation from outside noise was not very good. The bathroom was quite small and the shower was on top of a very small bah tub, so not very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent but expensive. Staff were kind and helpful.

My partner and I visited beautiful Lyon and decided to stay at this Mercure location. The location is okay, it is walking distance to some of Lyon's attractions. The hotel staff was quite friendly and helpful, they would call restaurants to make reservations and make suggestions for a variety of other restaurants and attractions. I found the rooms to be quite average, nothing exceptional in comparison to other hotels. Breakfast is the one thing that really shines in this hotel, it is absolutely delicious and it was one of the reasons why we stayed in this location. I would recommend this hotel to friends due to the pleasant staff and the good breakfast buffet.

We had a lovely long weekend city break just before Christmas with friends. The hotel is well placed for Lyon's extensive public transport, and in easy walking distance to downtown Lyon and on to the old city which is really quaint and typically old France. The staff were very friendly and helpful We had the buffet breakfast each morning and used the warm and welcoming bar in the evening. The rooms were big , clean and warm with a very comfortable bed. Would recommend this hotel for location, facilities, friendly staff and value for money.

Stayed here for three nights on a mini-break in Lyon. I originally looked at some of the more expensive hotels on the Presqu'Ile, but realised it was only about a ten minute walk from the Saxe Lafayette to the centre. Its not an especially inspiring location, but is only a short walk to the shops and restaurants, and is also handy for Les Halles de Lyon. We walked everywhere over the weekend, only getting the tram once when it was raining. The hotel is very nice - we had a nice big room and had no complaints except for the price of a coffee in the hotel bar! There is an artisan bakery round the corner, and a supermarket next door so no need to buy an expensive breakfast at the hotel.

Cleaners, maintenance men making a lot of noise from early in the morning. Hotel nice but expensive. Reception staff very helpful except one man with dark skin. He was very angry for no reason and is rude to his colleagues and customers. Serious attitude!

I spent one night there (from 23.00pm to 7.00 am) with a friend in a twin room and we paid about 130€. If you want the breakfast it's 18€ more, if you just want to use the parking it's 24€ more for just one night !!! Ohhh and we asked if we can have the car for 7 am in the morning.... they were in late and we only had the car at 7.15pm.... of course my friend had been in late for work. There is nothing in the fridge, they just offer you a bottle of water... the bathroom is small and the shower is badly protected (you put water everywhere if U don't make attention). The hairdryer doesn't work as well. And there is the noise of the ventilation all the night and it's really badly soundproofed. The only good point it's the kettle in the room with free tea (WOOW Halleluia). That's all. You have to revise your price.

Stayed here as part of a technical session that was being held there. Would not have chosen it otherwise. Newly renovated lobby, nice, clean, relatively large rooms, reasonable priced. Internet was free, but I opted for the higher data rate version for a fee (I think it was 9 Euro a day). Breakfast buffer was good, but not terribly varied. Included eggs, bacon, sausages, cereals, yogurt, bread etc. Dinner was not as good...my colleague and I both had steak frites and it was probably the toughest, most rubbery piece of hoof I had ever eaten. Definitely a disappointment. Salad Lyonnaise was a disappointment, too. I'd skip the hotel for dinner. Overall, the hotel stay was comfortable, clean, and fine. For tourism, though, not the best location. It is most of a 1/2 hour walk to get to the old town from the hotel. A taxi to the town center is on the order of 10Euro (so more to the old town). Not directly near one of the subway stops and it is a bit too long to walk from (most of a mile) from Part Dieu with bags. Think I paid over 10 Euro for a taxi from Part Dieu with our bags. Options from the airport are a taxi (some people in our group paid as much as 80Euro), airport shuttle train to Part Dieu then walk/cab, or Uber. Uber was the cheapest and easiest as a taxi to Part Dieu and the cost of the airport train combined were higher than my Uber bill.
