Excellent room. Comfortable bed. Quiet room. Clean bathroom. Nicely furnished excellent tv. Free wifi. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Bedroom had double door to cut out noise so very quiet. Convenient location for transport. Room nicely decorated.
The stay in Mercure Saxe Lafayette was great. It's location midway between the train station and downtown made it a perfect spot to organize my visit. Staff was courteous and friendly. The hotel has a nice restaurant itself, but a couple of blocs away near the park and metro station there are several other nice local options.
We have booked a prestige suite for 3 days. Excellent price, but the hotel location was a little far from the city center. Was nice to walk a bit more, but we could have stayed in a closer hotel. The prestige room is very recommended, we loved it.
The hotel is nice, at least the renovated part. It's well located, but there is a little bit of walking to reach the Old Lyon. I would have given it a better score but the checking in was a mess. After completing the check-in online, the key card was ready on arrival; however, the room was prepared for one person despite being booked for two. The staff had the option to just say 'sorry' and get the room fixed, but they chose to provide some strange explanations that made everything worst. Not so good for Accor members.
Excellent location. Easy to reach by all means of public transportation. Very good for family. Good price/quality. Very nice breakfast with a lot of choice. Hotel is a bit old especially bathroom needs a refreshment. Swimming pool is small.
A clean and comfortable hotel in a good location . Other than attending a function at the hotel on Sunday evening, I did not eat at the hotel. The meal at the function was not very inspiring. There are a lot of restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel to eat at. The bar was very nice, but rather expensive.
Excellent service during our stay, from valet parking to in room dining and bar service. Rooms were clean and hotel in super central location with most things in walking distance including a well stocked supermarket across the road. The reception also willingly extended our check out time. Free Wifi also very powerful. The breakfast was poor though. We did turn up half an hour towards to end of the serving but that was no excuse to have many offerings out of stock and then for the waiter at the end of the session to have the cheek to ask us to hurry up?? Not ideal for a lazy Sunday breakfast. We ended up having second choices for all the breakfast we had. And this is why the hotel missed out on 5 stars.
I liked very comfortable double beds, for my two kids too, in the same room. My kids loved the pool in the -1floor. Hotel location is very good. I would like fresh salad and vegetables during breakfast.
This hotel was perfectly placed for our four day trip to the lovely city of Lyon. The Opera House, old town, Basilique, markets, Confluence centre, rivers and the beautiful park to the north east of the city are all easily accessible. Our party included both walkers and strollers and we found public transport allowed us to visit all these places. The hotel itself is spacious and well appointed. The rooms were large; bathrooms roomy and clean; and there is a small pool and gym. All staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were fabulous! Huge choice and croissants must get a special mention - melt in the mouth delicious. There is a good restaurant in the hotel as well as a good choice of different eating options within walking distance. The only negative point is the bar prices which seemed very high and put us off using it. This was a shame as it contained a pleasant seating area which we would have used in the evening. However there are fridges and kettles in the room and a supermarket just outside the hotel. All in all this hotel was a good choice for a large group and I do recommend it.
I visited Lyon for a weekend trip, and I stayed at Mercure Lyon Centre Saxe Lafayette. The hotel is good and close enough both to the railway station of Part Dieu, and to the city centre, to allow walking to either destination in around 10 minutes. The room was OK - large but sparingly furnished (small table, no writing desk, not so comfortable chair, good light level, very good bed). Isolation from outside noise was not very good. The bathroom was quite small and the shower was on top of a very small bah tub, so not very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent but expensive. Staff were kind and helpful.
