We stayed in Lyon for 1 night on our trip home from a ski vacation. The Mercure hotel was just great for that. Rooms were very modern and clean. Quite small though so don't bring a lot of luggage Bathroom had a nice rain shower! And beds slept well We did not have breakfast since we thought 18 euro's a person was a bit too much. There are plenty of nice little boulangeries around that open at 7:00 am where you can get lovely pastries, fresh bread and orange juice and coffee. The hotel does not have parking but you can park in the nearby public garage for about 25 to 30 euro's a day. Lyon is an amazing city! We will definitely return next year
Cozy little great hotel. Friendly staff, clean and quiet hotel with an excellent location just a block from rue merciere, where the restaurants are, and a block from place de la republic where you will find shops, boulangeries and cafes. Did I mention location. 100% recommend.
It was a last minute decision. I didn’t know anything about Lyon and was marvellously surprised. The hotel location is fantastic The receptionists did an amazing job in providing all information I needed to see and get the most of the city in two short days. booked a dinner, taxi, tour in few hours. Thank you!
We've stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in December. Very helpful hotel staff who assisted in confirming restaurant bookings. Room is clean and considered spacious comparing to the ones I stayed at Paris.
This small and charming hotel is perfectly located in the core of Lyon's 2nd district. Rooms are small yet well appointed, and the staff are very kind, helpful and welcoming. Greta price/value rate. I recommend it without hesitation.
I stayed only one night in this hotel in the center of Lyon. The hotel is very nice and clean. The room was a little small but very well decorated. It was extremely clean and comfortable. Even if the hotel is located in a busy area, and even sleeping on the 1st floor, you don't hear anything from the room. I didn't tested the breakfast. I was just annoyed a little bit when I had to provide a credit card number by phone, even if I booked on the Accor website. I don't think that it's extremely safe, but it's maybe me just being paranoiac.
We had a beautiful room overlooking the Place des Jacobins. The room was spacious and comfortable with a seating area and a table under the wall-mounted tv. The bathroom was light-filled from a large window (large windows were a plus for this corner room) and comfortably set up. Plenty of room for toiletries, unlike many hotels that have scant shelf or counter space for such items. I would go back in a heartbeat. Very easy to walk to the old town. Metro and buses were easily accessible. We opted out of the full breakfast but enjoyed the express breakfast at the bar in the lobby. All in all, a great experience.
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in September. We loved the location as the hotel is walking distance to most attractions. Clean rooms and friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again.
Before we visited Lyon, we researched the places we wanted to visit and came to the conclusion that we had to find somewhere that was central with all the main sites within easy reach. This lovely hotel is just situated on the corner of Place des Jacobins. We were given an upgrade on our room on the first floor with views over towards the square. The room was lovely and the bathroom with its huge Art Deco mirror and pristine white marble, was immaculate. We were right to base ourselves at this hotel. Within a few minutes we could walk over the footbridge to the old part of town. Walking south, we were at the magnificent Place Bellecour. For shopping we were ideally placed with Printemps Department store to the rear of our hotel. More importantly there were many restaurants within easy reach. On arrival and throughout our stay the reception staff were ever so helpful. They never hesitated to help us, whether phoning for taxis or booking a table in a nearby restaurant. We also took breakfast in the hotel and would thouroughly recommend it. If you want to stay in the centre of Lyon, you would be hard pushed to find a better hotel. The reception staff really were helpful and friendly and for us made the stay even better.
I could nit pick; flimsy plastic cups rather than glasses in the room, very few hangers in the closet and nowhere else to put clothes, a cracked wash basin, etc. But the bottom line is we had a very pleasant stay in this very well located hotel. The staff were pleasant, helpful and spoke English. The room was clean, spacious and the water pressure was good (a pet peeve of mine in Europe). And the location was so good we walked everywhere. The old town is just a stroll away across the river. And even such sites as the Museum des Beaux Arts are not very far. DO book a Privilege room. They are usually just a few Euros more on most booking sites and they are bigger. DON’T book breakfast at the hotel. You’re going to eat enough in Lyon anyway. There is an impressive coffee machine in the room. And if you must eat something first thing, there are plenty of nearby cafes offering better value.
