We stayed at this hotel with some trepidation after reading other reviews. I can only surmise that there are different quality rooms and ours was a good one (does booking direct with the hotel help secure a better room? Maybe?). Everything about this hotel was, for us, perfect. Check-in was friendly, the concierge knowledgeable and helpful, the room well appointed and comfortable (with a coffee machine and complimentary minibar) and whisper quiet. Breakfast was in the rooftop restaurant with fabulous views and great food selection. We would certainly stay again.

I can hear sounds of doors closing and opening also footsteps and apparently voice from other neighboring room, that I prefer not to hear. I'm sure there's no room insulation or it's inadequately installed. The breakfast is delicious and variety of food available, service good but noisy neighbor ruined the stay and I think earplugs should be one of the accessories given in the room. Other than the noise disturbance and old elevator that is a bit scary for me who's been stuck in an elevator before and the small space kind of crammed. I have nothing to complain about the room is beautiful and I love how they have soft drinks and juices in the minibar that they give for free without charge.

We stayed here one night before getting on an AMA river cruise. The hotel is conveniently located in the Bellecour area just across the bridge from where the river cruise ships dock and a short walk to the restaurants and shops in the Lyon pedestrian area. Our room was well appointed and comfortable. We did not eat at the hotel, but they have a very nice bar area (inside and outside) for pre and post dinner drinks. If you're getting on or off a river cruise ship, this is the place to stay.

I travel alone and was actually given a wonderful room without paying extra. The view of the Rhone River from my room was wonderful. I enjoyed sitting on the window sill at night just looking out. The room was clean and there was a nespresso machine for coffee and a hot water pot for tea. The location of the hotel was right near the Place Bellecour, which is where the tourist information is and the bus tour originate. It was so very convenient.

The room was spacious and well equipped but unfortunately the armchair was worn and it was not possible to sit on it without sliding off. The furniture in the room needs updating to merit 5 star rating. The concierge and front of house staff were courteous, friendly and excellent in every way. However when we arrived they could not find out booking even though we had confirmation from booking.com. They eventually discovered it with the wrong name spelling. When we checked in we upgraded our room and were told there was a 20 euro extra charge per night. However when we checked out we were told it was 40 euros extra per night and they tried to charge us for breakfasts which we had not taken. It was sorted out by speaking to the manager but not very satisfactory. We stayed two nights and were amazed that the bottom sheet on the beds was not changed! Not five star standard. We were impressed by the complimentary soft drinks in the mini bar. A very nice touch in the normally warm weather. We loved the robes and slippers in the room adding to our comfort. The hotel is in a great location and has parking which is unusual to find in such a premier position. We did not eat in the panorama restaurant this time but it is very good with a wonderful view day and night.

We were booked into this hotel by Viking River Cruises for two nights when one of their vessels had to be withdrawn from service. Whilst our room was just about OK with a nice river view and no noise to contend with, it was very dated, but others in our group had simply awful rooms with mould, wallpaper peeling off and no aircon. We were quite lucky in that one regard with our room, and it has to be said that the hotel's location was good. The lift service throughout our stay was awful, with very long waits at every floor. Our main complaint was the quality of the food served, albeit the very, very basic simply menus were pre-booked by Viking, no doubt at very knock down price levels. There were no choices whatsoever, the service was simply awful and the 'special rooms' we were made to use were not even up to one or two star levels. We were certainly seen as second class guests! Many of us simply left our uneaten food when it was 'presented' and found much better restaurants nearby, but at our cost! A big letdown for the usually excellent Sofitel brand we have enjoyed in other cities.

We enjoyed a great room overlooking the river. A comfy king size bed. A complimentary mini bar (juice and soft drink) is provided along with a nescafe machine. The hotel has a beautiful 8th floor bar to enjoy the view especially at night when the river is lit up.

This is a beautiful hotel. The staff are excellent and the hotel works very efficiently. The room was super. Huge fluffy white towels and a large powerful shower. Free non alcoholic mini bar. Tea and coffee in room. Beautiful robes and slippers. Very comfy bed. If I was being picky I'd say that the air con was a tad loud and the digital clock displays a little annoying when the lights went out but I'd be being picky! It's a wonderful hotel. The bar on the top floor is worth a visit but pricey. Car park is under the hotel so very handy but 27 euros.

I came back to this hotel for the fourth time, and I have to say: it's one of my favourite hotels in the Accor group! It's not the newest, not the fanciest, but it reminds me of the France of my childhood, where I always felt very welcome. We've got a nice upgrade to a big room. No views of the Rhône and a room with a style that reminded me also of my childhood vacations in France (that was in the 1980s for the record). But everything worked well, good airco, big closets, shower and bath, great bed... things that are often missing in new design hotels. For me personally, nothing has to change to these rooms. It was quiet, cool, spacious,... and we got free softdrinks which were very welcome in the Lyon heat! The only negative thing is that in these modern ages you need more than one power socket to keep all phones etc. charged... The restaurant on top was unfortunately closed during the month of August (it's very good) but the bar was open and I had a perfect Martini, which is quite a feature outside of Paris in France. Great knowledgable bartender! Very friendly staff, great hotel! We'll be back soon!

This is a lovely hotel with nice people that make you feel welcome. The hotel is situated 300 meters from the beautiful Place de Bellecour and on the shores of the Rhone. It has easy access to the Metro. The rooms are nice and with good functioning airco and a FREE MINIBAR. Good functioning free WIFI. Breakfast is served on the upper floor with a beautiful view on Lyon. The hotel has a small gym and a big health center. I love this hotel!
