We read the reviews for this hotel and thought about cancelling but the stay turned out far better than expected. Room was fine and clean. Receptionist on arrival very helpful and friendly. For what we paid this was absolutely fine for our one night stopover and well located for the town centre
Absolutely disgusting hotel. Never go there. Blood on bedding. Rude staff. Sick on travel cot. Went from a family room to a small double due to electrics not working. Cant believe this is a 3 star hotel I normally trust Expedia with their ratings but after this experience I'll never return to this hotel and trust any rating.
I booked this hotel before i read the reviews, when i read the reviews i was genuinely worried about what the hotel would be like, in my opinion the hotel is no where near as bad as the reviews.. my room was clean, bathroom was also not so bad. Now there could be allot of improvements here that is definite but the hotel is relatively inexpensive and i had no issue being there at all. It was a very very hot day that i stayed and the AC worked well so that is a plus :) Would i stay again.. probably yes, take any reviews with a pinch of salt, but of course do not expect the Ritz
The worst stay I have ever experienced in a hotel. On entering the hotel it did not look bad until we went to our first room which was extremely unclean. There was dust everywhere, sheets were stained and unclean. The bathroom stank and the bin was filled with rubbish from whoever was last in the room. Next, we got moved to a second room which was still not smelling clean, bed sheets were definitely not clean and had makeup stains on them. Furthermore, the shower was broken and the water was either boiling hot or freezing cold. The shower curtain rail was filled with grime and the toilet had marks in it throughout. The third room we were shown the carpet had come up of the floor, the windows did not open. In addition, it smelt like wet dog. When going to complain we were then made aware that no managers were working the weekend and we were not able to get a refund as the staff there didn’t know how to process it. How can managers not work the busiest time for hotels and have staff working that are unable to process something as simple as a refund? The hotel shows a complete lack of care from management and owners. The carpet throughout the hotel was dirty, windows all grimy and horrible smell throughout. Not worth the money or time spent coming to Luton from Devon, over 4 hours away. Still haven’t heard from a manager, would definitely never recommend staying here. Would be better off staying in an AirBnB or there are hotels not far away for only £10 more.
I went to this horrible hotel which should be closed down. Firstly I parked my car in the in the limited spaced car park 10/1 chance of getting a parking space, there were piles of rubbish and the car park is rat infested but that’s not the worse bit. I went to my room, only to find a note telling me that the sheets hadn’t been changed from the previous guest, which was an extremely nice warning as I requested a sheet change immediately but they took 2 hours to change the sheets. Would I stay again? Definitely not.
Car park- When booking it says free car park on site, nothing about how small it is, I had to park at NCP which cost me £15. Check in- all ok, gave me wifi details. Hotel- when first entering hotel all looks ok The lift was out of order, which was annoying as I had 3 Heavy bags and was staying on first floor. Room- was not impressed at all, it’s in a dyer state, in need of a clean and tidy up, the edges are dirty, things chipped here and there. The bed however, is comfy. My room faced the front of the hotel, and all I can hear is the traffic going by. I originally thought one of the windows was open, it was slightly ajar because it doesn’t shut! The noise of the traffic was a nightmare and going to be a awful nights sleep. The WiFi also wasn’t working, wasn’t told that- had to call reception- an engineer was coming out at 7pm! The Tv channels wouldn’t work pass channel 3! Very annoying! Food- so restaurant opens at 6.. the choice of food is bad! Such limited choice, the price is ok though. First I opt for a glass of wine- Pinot Grigio- this wasn’t chilled, don’t you check stock before opening. I chose sirloin steak and salad- medium rare. What I got was an over cooked bit of beef frying steak! God awful. This is supposed to be a 3 star hotel, I’d struggle to find a reason to give it half a star! Do not recommend this place at all!!!
I stayed there for one night and thought it was lovely when I got into the lobby as the decor is modern and bling. However on closer inspection not so fancy! The bed was nice and large and firm, but we had to sleep in layers as the room was cold and the heating is controlled by reception. All I could feel is cold air blowing out of it every time we asked them to turn it up, we gave up in the end. the room we had was close to the main road and was so noisy. As already mentioned by other people the windows are old and drafty and the indoor ledge itself looks like it’s never been cleaned. The bathroom has a poor finish and needs doing properly but the shower was nice and hot. Breakfast was poor I don’t eat meat, gluten or diary so there was nothing for me apart from tinned fruit and breakfast is set to a small sized plate no buffet or seconds. My partner had the full English and wasn’t impressed he thought the beans might have been reheated. I felt the man serving needed a good meal himself he looked so thin. He wasn’t very lively either. I’d hate to have dinner there as the menu was worse than your average pub grub or cafe. The orange juice in the morning was like drinking concentrated sugar. Not the best hotel if you want a good nights sleep and a good breakfast. Best part was the lovely bed but I dared not to inspect it closely.
My husband and i had stayed here several times before and were never fully satisfied however always gave the hotel the benefit of the doubt. This particular night we were staying as we had a flight to catch the next day, we both had big heavy suitcases. We had been placed on the third floor and there was no working lift. We kindly asked if there was any concierge service and the attitude ee recieved from the man at reception was appalling. My husband did his back in lugging the suitcases up the stairs as a result of this. The room was almost as terrible as the attitude we'd just received. The carpet by the window had been lifted up so there was a horrible draught coming from under the floor. The shower didn't work properly, within seconds it would go from scorching hot to freezing cold, and the pipe wasn't even long enough to put up into the holder so both of us had to sit down with the shower in one hand just so we could wash ourselves. The parking round the back was an utter nightmare, the lot was so tight and people were parked right in the middle of it so the cars at the end were blocked in. We managed to get a space but in order for us to manoeuvre out of the parking lot we had to reverse all the way out on to a busy main road. The staff here are NOT helpful, the facilities are absolutely ATROCIOUS and the parking is a flipping joke. We wont ever be staying here again.
I stayed in the hotel last night and the place was very clean. I wasn't sure about paying the price as the reviews were bad. Room 111 was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. Great night sleep. Reception staff friendly.
Entrance is attractive and very inviting. Staff are polite. Unfortunately, the room was quite shocking; carpet worn/ made up of scraps; bedding was old fashioned, fraying and had cigarette burns; despite booking a room for two only 1 bath sheet, bath and hand towel supplied. Breakfast was ok apart from the tinned mushrooms which were salty.
