Loved this hotel , staff were excellent , so convienent to the marina . I'm glad I didn't do all inclusive , it have us the freedom to try other places . I would definately go back to this hotel . Pretty big hotel , but I love to walk , so this suited us.

super friendly and helpful. Not perfect but I keep going back due to service and quality

Great place. Was really pumped about the place before we left and was not disappointed when we arrived. We've been going to Cabo for over 20 years and this place is perfect. See you guys next year.

Service excellent ,great food and location. Amazing views and what you would expect from Cabo.

We stayed at The Ridge - the construction quality was rather poor. Considering that this is the more "exclusive" lodging section apparently, you could hear every voice in the hallways and every step of the people above you. God forbid they moved a chair. Also, we were right near the back driveway and at 3am you heard every party/group coming back loudly from town. The rooms were very spacious, the kitchen well equipped, and the pool area very nice. Food was also very good. The staff experience was rather mixed- a few were very nice and others were terrible. The best part was the location into the heart of Cabo/town. Walking distance if you like to walk or a close taxi ride. This wasn't our worst vacation at all, but not our best either.

Stayed at the Ridge for a week. Nice hotel, but not that impressed. Rooms were nice, but the view wasn't very good. Unless you have one of the top floors, your view will be the back of another building or a rooftop of air conditioners. The pools were very nice and the view from there is nice. It is also a short walk to the marina which was nice. They charge extra to use the fitness center and for internet service. Wireless service is only available in the pool and lobby areas. Even then, the service is very weak and we had to constantly log back on after getting kicked off. Only one person in your party can get service at any given time. I guess when you are paying around $300/night I would expect free wireless service throughout the property (including room) and use of the fitness center to be included. Also, the food was overpriced, and not that good either. Would never stay there again.

This place is simply gorgeous. My fiance and I spend 3 full days enjoying the views. This was our first time in Cabo. This resort is right next to the beach but beware that you cannot swim on the pacific. If you want to swim, you should stay at a place that faces the Sea of Cortez. The hotel has a "VIP" area called the Ridge, but this is all part of Playa Grande Resort. When we got there one of the concierge (they have many) told us that we "got" the VIP area, but in fact, we paid more. So don't let them tell you that they have both open when you get there if you already paid more to stay at the Villas. You have to be diligent if you dont want to do the time share selling sessions because theyt staff will take every opportunity to get you to one, by gibe you "free" things. The grounds are great and the view is fantastic and it is a great spot to relax.

Advertised by resellers: ocean view at the ridge but it is, in fact, city and marina view. Don't pay extra. The infinity pool is good tho.

We loved every moment of our stay. I will definitely come back

We have visited Cabo San Lucas for 34 years and this is the finest and best hotel ever! World class in every way.

Wonderful spot between the marina and the Pacific made everything very accessible. View from pool area is spectacular, it's easy to just hang out there all day. Views from the room are nice, a little noise from the traffic below if you're hanging out on the terrace, but quiet inside. Room is spacious and very comfortable (loved the bed) but a few small details are off. Quality of the linen is passable, but not premium, adjustable lighting in all rooms BUT the bedroom, no kleenex, etc. Small stuff that if your used to luxury you might notice, but won't ruin your trip.

We booked a week's stay at The Ridge, May 1st-9th 2011.Check in was quick and uneventful. Surprisingly, there weren't any timeshare salesmen around. We decided to dodge the timeshare trap by avoiding the concierge/towel card greeting at arrival. We asked to go direct to our room. Our 3rd floor room was clean, and well appointed, nice bathrooms. While the marina view was pleasant, it was offset by the parking and construction lots below us. The sound of traffic and barking dogs was constant. We also didn't like the maze of elevators and stair climbing that we had to endure after walking to and from the hotel lobby & marina. While that doesn't sound significant, it becomes a brutal chore after 90 degree heat. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to those who don't like stairs. While we found the cleaning staff very polite and hard working, we noticed the service staff to be a bit too talkative to one another before guests and apathetic/unwelcoming until addressed. The insincerity was obvious. The exception was the concierge [...], she was very polite and helpful. The guest computer at The Ridge was very frustrating due to being set up for Spanish users. Come on Playa Grande, 99% of your guests are English speaking, please set it up accordingly. The keyboard was sticky, also in Spanish, and the cheap glitchy printer delayed printing our boarding passes for over an hour. A cheap standing set up with no privacy, only available 9AM-5PM. The hotel should provide a desk with chair and a more private location. Frankly, there should be two computers for a hotel selling itself as a five star establishment.Details, wall sconces, lights, awards, hung tilted. It just shows an obvious disregard for guest impression.Lastly, while we didn't bother doing so, we found the hotel rules regarding food and beverages purchased off location a bit off putting. It would have been pleasant to enjoy our own snacks and beverages at poolside, the hotel prices are unconscionable. Definately not five star, closer to a 2 star.

The VIllas at the Ridge was amazing. I had the best 4 vacation days in a while. You have to understand that playa grande and the villas at playa grande are different. I believe these villas where supposed to be strictly timeshares but didnt sell out. The room was more than what I bargained for. I really should not have gotten the much for paying so little. Perfect view, 1 bdrm and 2 baths, Kitchen with utensils, and the best is a shortcut to the main street where OXXO (Like 7-11) was. I will definitely return to this place.

Check in and Check out was horrible! The hotel and rooms were fantanstic!!! Great views and a very close walk to the Marina.

This property is beautiful and has an exclusive location on the Pacific Ocean with amazing Rock formation all around it. The hotel room we had didn't have a good ocean view. The buildings are slanted so there are few full on ocean views. We were upgraded from being in Ridge to a large 1 bedrm suite by the pools in Playa Grande. The timeshare push they say will take 90 min took 3 hours! But we didn't fall for the bs! Their bottom line price is around 12k. The guy we had got angry we didn't buy. I guess it was an ego thing. They drill you with personal questions and try to make you feel guilty if you don't buy! Lol! Its worth it to attend as we got a 100 credit towards the bill, free vacation coupon, and huge discounts on the Sunset cruise and Atvs! Just say NO! Lol. Medano beach is so nice but the vendors mk it hard to relax! No vendors on Playa Grande beach! But no swimming here. Sand in this region is like rough Desert sand. But the landscape is breath taking! Ate at the office! Fyi, no shoes req! Its in the sand! So cool! I love Cabo. And will stay at the new 5 star resort by Playa Grande when its fini. It is beautiful! Playa Grande has amazing location! Wld go back!

Playa Grande was a great place to stay. The room was roomy, clean, and had a great view of the Marina. We did have an issue at check in...I had my [...] confirmation and letter that my card was being charged...when we got there, they said I had cancelled my reservation and they were not expecting us....this made us wait 45 minutes to check in, but they did make a room available.

The Ridge has the best view we have found in San Lucas. The pool is quient and quaint with unbelievable mountian view of marina and the pacific. Try Michalenos resturant for the best authentic pork dishes and rib tocos. Minerva,s has the best fishing fleet in Cabo. Air conditioned Migel Loco's on Miguel Hidalgo St in Cabo San Lucas has excellent food and drink specials. Tell the owners [...] that Lawrence and Penny from Dallas said Hi. My wife and I were the first customer to vist their resturant on opening day 4 or 5 yrs ago.

Private suites at the Ridge but it was a hike from the main lobby and downtown as well. Be prepared to take several elevators but you had 2 different pools and a great view of Downtown and the beach. Conveniently located once you get out of the resort and into the beach - can walk over to other resorts as well as other nearby pools. Very friendly staff and maid service but be prepared to pay for small amenities such as internet, gym, etc... However, the best part was the spa (amazing) and rooms are very spacious.
