Esperanza, An Auberge Resort5.0 out of 5.0

Esperanza is probably one of the best resorts I have been to. The concierge contacted me prior to arrival and arranged all transportation, spa appointments, etc. Paula did a fantastic job. I'm not sure what the staff to guest ratio is, but it has to be close to 1:1. I had a top floor one bedroom palapa spa suite (room 54), and it was appointed very nicely. The outside deck was very large and had a plunge pool. I honestly cannot say one negative thing about Esperanza, as it truly is a gem in Cabo!
We stayed in a beautiful 3 bedroom villa that perched just over the ocean with outstanding views of it and the pool grounds. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the service. In particular, Salvador Venegas (our personal concierge) and Fredy who took exceptional care of all of us at the villa pool. I would also highly recommend the spa- my service with Connie was above and beyond wonderful. We cannot wait to return and see these friendly faces again!
Everything about this trip was PERFECTION! We (6 ladies) stayed in a gorgeous 3 bedroom residence, it was huge with an amazing terrace. It also included a Butler who made us breakfast, snacks and anything we wanted. I wanted to take him home with me. We spent each day lounging by the pool drinking yummy cocktails, eating delicious food (the tuna tostadas are to die for), and visiting the spa for treatments (so relaxing). Seriously never wanted to leave....can't wait to go back with my husband for a romantic get away.
Overpriced by a wide margin. In fact, its a rip off. Firstly, it is in the same price and category as the One and Only, which after staying at both, is a misplaced assignment. This is no Palmilla and certainly no Pedregal. It has no spa or ocean access, like all the other top tier Cabo properties. You need to have a sauna and/or a steam room to have a spa or call yourself one. This has neither of those. No plunge pool, nothing but a group of treatment rooms for services at a very high rate from second tier providers. And again, no ocean access. Their food and beverage is quite ridiculously priced yet mediocre. $25 for two eggs and a side of bacon. $12 for juice. Another $10 for coffee, but with a service charge and mandatory gratuity on top. So expect breakfast for 2 to cost $150 or so. Have a couple of small frozen Margaritas each while lying by their pool (which is cramped unless you spring another $200 for a cabana) and again, expect another $200 for your drinks on top of that. A day by the pool with a few drinks each is roughly $500 so by the time we left the resort, we hadn't so much as order room service, eat dinner at the resort or even get drunk - but somehow our food and beverage bill came to over $2500 for our 3 day stay. Thats over $700 per day. And no, it isnt exceptional. Its rather mediocre. So while the grounds are nice and lush, you pay for a room with pool access. No ocean, no true spa and a massive bill for virtually anything. Hell, its $300 for a ride to the airport and back. For me, at this price point - I left disappointed. I wont be returning to the Esperanza next time, but our old favorite - the Palmilla. Same price, but superior in every way shape and form. You dont leave feeling ripped off or even close - but I did at the Esperanza. After our experience at the Jerome in Aspen, I think our time and experience with the brand Auberge is well.....fini.
A group of us stayed in a 3 bedroom villa, complete with personal concierge. Victor made us guacamole, apre pool drinks, and just cared for us the whole stay. We had a plunge pool, so pretty. Meals were excellent, pool and spa outstanding. I will be back!
Love this hotel. Great service! Gorgeous setting. They take care of your every wish. The spa is fantastic. Really beautiful, a perfect place to spend half a day. Love the pools, the view, the food, and especially the villas with the pools/jacuzzis. Can't wait to go back!
Was there for a long weekend and had a great time. The service makes the place. The people that work there are genuine, friendly, attentive, and conscientious. Monica Martinez is a terrific concierge. We would return tomorrow if we could. Also, the grounds are very nice and you are not too far from Cabo San Lucas. Highly recommended, but bring your wallet.
Accommodations were fantastic! The people were great and the overall beauty is unparalleled. The food is plenty good and the service is really great. There is a lot of elevation change and outdoor stairs so I would be careful about taking elderly parents or grandparents.
This was by far the best place we have ever stayed! Beats the Four Seasons by a long shot. We have been to many places all over the world and have found this place to be the absolute best of the best!
Quite and secluded location. Easy cab to city as needed. Service amazing. Very private! About a 20 minute ride to Cabo San Lucas. Very low key. Obama, Clintons and Putins stayed at this resort...That says it all :)
