Kimpton Hotel Wilshire

We selected this hotel for its proxmity to The Ivy in Beverly Hills (our plan for breakfast) and LACMA. The rooftop dining was excellent. The food and views superb! It would be a nice touch if they offered blankets as the wind made it very cold even with the heating lamps. They offered a complimentary wine hour once we checked in. They let us keep our car in valet parking well past check out time while we enjoyed our day at the museum. They had cute bicycles to borrow but we didn't have time to use. The MAIN reason I didn't give this hotel a higher rating is the price! We thought it was too expensive. The rooms were nice but not beautiful. The hallways were dark and needed to be vacuumed. The cleaning cart was left in hallway even in early evening. I expected a bit more "luxury" for the price.

Location is great! Between West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Staff was friendly: front desk greeted us by name, valet asked about our day and gave us recommendations when asked. In and out valet was very efficient and convenient.

My stay at Hotel Wilshire did not make me want to return to that hotel in the future. I booked a room with a patio. Per the pictures they advertise the patio gives you a view of the pool. Well my patio did not come with a view of the pool or the city. I had a view of a concrete wall, which was connected to the hotel. The wall does have artwork on it however when visiting LA I do not want to see a wall, I want to be able to stand on the patio and see the city. if i want to see a wall with art on it, I would go to an art museum. Now on to room services...on 2 different occasions I received dirty towels and wash rags. I informed the gentleman at the front desk that we received dirty rags and towels. His reply was he would make room service aware of this. So I'm hoping that this issue has been taken care of. Lastly, our valet guy, Danny, was rude. As a valet he is supposed to open my door. Well that didn't happen... Would I stay at this hotel again, the answer is NO!

Great hotel. Great staff. Rooftop view is very nice.

Hotel Wilshire is a great little hotel if you're visiting people east of the 405. Great staff from the lobby to the garage to the great rooftop restaurant and pool. They helped me with my computer they brought the car up pronto they let a single ginger ale or orange juice slide and they did a great job making up the room and keeping it well supplied. It was super convenient and super pleasant.

Can't say enough good things about this hotel. I am traveling quite a bit and can be a bit picky about hotels. This place is excellent, though. The roof top bar / pool is a great place to hang out - during the day and at night. Beautiful views and great people. The room is very modern and comfy. Everything was top notch and the hotel crew was most accommodating as well. This is my to-go-to place next time I am in L.A.

The room was clean and a little bit small. The lobby is small but the staff are friendly

The hotel was very clean and the staff were very nice. The restaurant bar outside on the 6th floor was great. The only questionable item not mentioned when I made the reservation was the over $30.00 charge for parking.

I was leaving LA after a few months there for work and wanted to get myself a hotel on Friday / Saturday as it was my birthday on Saturday. Stayed here on Friday. Location was a little out of the way (barely) and the room was a little small, but it was clean, nice, staff was great... And the rooftop was fantastic - for night cap drinks and brunch. I hesitate on four star value, but this is LA and hotels are very expensive.

My wife and I stayed here because of the location. We had dinner at Lawry's and enjoyed a concert at the Saban Theatre all within a easy walk of the hotel. We did not discover the roof top restaurant and pool until just prior to checking out. Decent food and a wonderful view of the City. I wish we had stayed another night so that we could actually enjoy the hotel.

Not bad overall, but did not have the "wow factor"

The Roof restaurant is not 4-star restaurant at all. It has a nice view but cold. No good selections of dinner. It is nice for free coffee at the 2nd floor. They should serve a free coffee and sell some continental food in the morning at the ROOF. At 2nd floor they should serve as a drinking place.

I booked this hotel for its proximity to CBS Studios which was about a mile away, but walkable. I thought it was a really good value. I liked being able to go to the gym about a block away, LACMA close, hop-on hop-off tour bus close, staff very helpful, happy hour was nice, the room was great, and I liked the dining options across the street. I was very happy with my decision to stay here.

Place is very modern and looks great. Quite at night. Olny wish that the room had a cofee maker.

We came to the Wilshire for a weekend in LA. The location is amazing! Close to Beverly hills, Weho and UCLA where we attended a concert. The rooftop pool was also awesome. Sipping on cappuccinos in the morning while chilling by the pool and all of that with a Hollywood sign view. The points to improve are: -Room cleanliness. Let me explain, the room was very clean when we go there, but once inside the room, the daily service would be bare minimum (making the bed and re-hanging towels). - Rooftop bar service. I know you guys are packed, but waiting 40 minutes for a cappuccino is not an option. I would definitely come back here! But next time I'll have my cappuccino prior to hitting the pool.

Very attractive rooms and an amazing rooftop pool with decent restaurant. But no fitness center - you get free pass to LA fitness 4 blocks away. Many empty store front in surrounding blocks makes the neighborhood unappealing. Next time I'll look for same quality in a nicer neighborhood

The rooftop is great with really amazing views of L.A. and the Hollywood hills. The bed was comfortable and rooms were fresh and clean.

The amenities that were advertised by the hotel were not available as described (e.g. there was no breakfast served at the said location, and no signs to point to some alternate location). It may just be me having used to sleep on memory foam bed and pillow, but I found the bed (hard, spring) and pillows (feather) very uncomfortable. Tap water was not really drinkable due to all chlorine content, while this isn't hotel's fault, not addressing this by simply having bottled water available in the rooms could have been a simple mitigation to the issue. On the other hand, clean rooms, ok location, nice restaurant at the roof were positive points. Rooms have a nice TV, along with (almost) every possible way to connect your electronic devices, alarm clock (iHome), coffee machine and a safe.

Perhaps a bit expensive for one night, it was none the less lovely. Location to concert venue, just up the street, was perfect. The staff was incredibly patient and helpful.

Fun rooftop bar with amazing views, it was quite a surprise.
