Very clean hotel. Staff was very friendly. There was free breakfast every morning and coffee refilled everyday in the room. Beds were very comfortable.

Staff was nice and accommodating. It was between Hollywood and Santa Monica Beach so it was in the perfect location. Lots of eateries down the block or just around the corner within short walking distance.

I chose this hotel because of price and location. It wasn't too far from the beach and the price was good. It was more quiet than I expected since it was right off the freeway. Clean and cozy rooms. The breakfast was fantastic and I liked that they stayed serving until 930.

pleasent, would have preferred a lot less busy location

Extremely friendly staff & great location for freeway access with pretty standard HI Express amenities. Is actually a converted older place so rooms have outside access but are updated to what we have grown to expect. One nice unexpected treat was that the breakfast area is in an outside courtyard with side curtains & heat lamps in case of wind/rain/cooler temps. All in all a great value for the area. Parking is available in underground garage for a small fee, but definitely worth it.

The staff is very friendly. The first day I came to the hotel, they have free sandwiches. The breakfast is good btw.

entire block closed off for freeway construction each night. biggest ripoff of my life. they should have paid ME to stay there... BBB, Department of Commerce, Chamber of Commerce, and every other government/ private organization I can think of will hear of this scam. Including local media...

Fine! But terribly overpriced.

Needed a hotel near LAX that wasn't too far from Pasadena--we were there for the Rose Bowl and one couple was flying in late to LAX. This place is literally on the corner of the 405 and Santa Monica Blvd.--and I mean right on!!Traffic noise was horrendous--about 40% of the rooms face Santa Monica Blvd. The rooms are nicely re-done in an IKEA sort of way but this place is old!! Two levels of underground parking that have scary entrances and exits---and don't trust the ad--they charge $7 a day to park there---and there are no options. The breakfast buffet was quite good but the eating area is in the outdoor "atrium" on the second floor. It was 45 degrees there during our stay and the coffee was essential to keep our hands from going numb. The good- location was very handy to LAX, Santa Monica Pier, 3rd Street Promenade and an easy drive to Pasadena. If location matters, moderate cost is your goal and your expectations are kept in check---this is the place!

The only complaint I had is that the fitted sheets on the bed were skimpy; every night the bottom sheet came untucked the instant I turned over in bed. I don't think I'm especially athletic in my sleep, so I think the problem is the skimpy sheets. Other than that, the hotel was great. Nice continental breakfast, comfy room, as advertised. Close to I-405 (maybe too close) and Santa Monica Boulevard, and handy for going places in L.A.

Comfortable Beds, extremely clean room, friendly and helpful staff, sufficient parking, central location from all attractions, great breakfast will carry you for the day, would recommend and will definitely stay there again

Staff was very helpful. However, after I checked in and went out for dinner, when I came back there were three police officers and yellow tape on the doors. Apparently someone robbed or attempted to rob the front desk. There was no staff at front desk to explained what happened. So, I just took the elevator up to my room and secure the door .

It was clean, fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion. My son was able to get a razor from the desk clerk. No bellhop, so as a female, it's good to know that ahead of time. Very friendly staff. They serve a moderately good breakfast. THe beds, location and noise level were excellent. Cleaverly designed room to give you a curved bench next to the desk to eat or have beverages with friends. TV options were good with HBO included and games for the younger set. THe parking was underground and they were generous about it. My visitors could park there and not give them any info. I'd stay there again, but for having to smoke in the garage.

The room was very comfortable and relaxing....the hotel was very close to the freeway exit and the on ramp so it was a good location......the exterior of the hotel was ok but again the room was great.....the location where the breakfast is served was a tiny tiny room but they offered a good start in terms of food. We were very close to the Westwood area which was the area we wanted to be close to..... All in all is was a pleasant stay the staff was fantastic......

The Holiday Inn was very clean, the room was good size and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location, right off the highway was great for us. It gave good access to both the business and recreation areas we required and desired. It provided good access to Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Holloywood, west LA, the coast (beaches) as well as medical facilities. Not having to pay for parking and breakfast was a definite plus. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visting the west LA area.

Very close to the VA Hospital in West LA. Parking was excellent.

I thought this hotel was a new remodel and chose it for that reason as well as location. However, they were still doing construction and drilling caused a lot of noise. The work that had already been done was adequate but only mediocre in my book. I had to ask for bathroom supplies. The cleaning people wanted to begin everyday at 8:30 am and my room key expired every day. That was really annoying. On Easter Sunday morning, 8:30 a.m., there were doors slamming and loud talking right outside my room. When I checked, it was the cleaning crew. I would have to say the hotel staff and construction people were much more interested in what they needed to get done for the day then in the comfort and needs of their guests.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express West Los Angeles because it was near a location where I had an interview. The gentlemen at the front desk were all so helpful and courteous in providing me with information about the area. The hotel grounds are clean and the woman helping in the breakfast area was very helpful, especially early in the morning. I will definitely refer a friend to stay at the Holiday Inn Express West LA.
