A great hotel with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The rooms are big and clean and staff is very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast is perfect and the hotel is on a good location on walking distance to the town center. All in all we enjoyed our stay!
Just back from 2 nights at this hotel. Check-in very quick. Room was beautiful - double bed, small table and chair, a sofa and matching chair. All very comfortable. My husband had ordered prosecco and strawberries as a surprise and these were on the table ready for us - a small bowl of strawberries that had been cut into bite sized pieces and the prosecco was delicious. We had dinner both nights in the bar. First night we both had burger and chips which was beautifully presented and was gorgeous - so nice I ate the rest of my husbands chips and tomato relish. Last night my husband had shepherds pie and chips and he really enjoyed it. I had chicken and chorizo pasta which came with choice of side dish and I chose chips. I wish I had the recipe for it - it was really really nice. Again both dishes were beautifully presented and exceptionally good value for money. Breakfast both mornings was buffet. Loads to pick from and again good value. This hotel is in a good location to walk into Derry which we enjoyed. It was very quiet both day and night and we enjoyed our short stay. Staff were all friendly. Can't wait to go back.
called in for lunch today with my son after some shopping. Had been on quite a few occasions before and found the food excellent. However, today menu was poor choice with just average meals nothing special for a lunch out. Ended up with burger n chips and fish and chips (not very exciting and which could have been got in any local chippy) 2 pieces of fish both well overcooked and about 20 chips a small manikin of peas and one of horse radish sauce the burger was just a mincesteak patty with a small bit of onion and 2 well overcooked onion rings and a piece of burnt cheese on top of the burger. We were very disappointed with the food and burger and onions being overcooked could have been over looked but it was clearly evident to the staff and to the chef or whoever prepped the plates that the fish was very overcooked. (Maybe that was why we got 2 pieces) very very disappointing. Spoke to one girl but she said she'd inform someone and headed off not to be seen again. we just paid and left. Wont be back which is a pity as food and service on other occasions was great. Whether the message was passed on or not I dont know but based on this visit wont be back for quite some time if at all.
Everything about our stay was excellent from the food, room, entertainment and especially the staff - Gareth, Deaghlan, Graine, Keelin and John. Nothing was a problem for all the staff at Da Vinci's. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
I booked a room directly with the hotel for a group trip with friends. I normally book with a third part company such as tripsdviser where cancellations are possible. The website indicates that there is a nominal cancellation charge and implies cancelling is OK if done before the day ( I gave plenty of notice). Unfortunately they kept the full cost of the room and refused to refund me. They eventually indicated that a credit on future booking would be forthcoming but I would not want to stay in such a mean hotel with such sharp practices. Beware you should try other hotels or if you must book do not book direct
Stayed for one night. The hotel is just a 15 minute walk to the centre of Derry. 2 minutes walk to the river. The hotel facilities were very good and our room had two double beds. Reasonably fast free Wifi. All staff were helpful. We had a bar meal and the food was wonderful. Very fresh and extremely tasty. An excellent hotel which I highly recommend.
Just checked in and the staff were so helpful as we had an issue last time we stayed but they couldn't be nicer here and even upgraded us .good is great ,we just had a snack bug lovely .will def be back .the accommodation manager Amanda was so helpful .highly recommend
Stayed in Da Vinci's on Wed 22nd March. It was excellent on all fronts. Great location, modern rooms, superb food. Couldn't rate Da Vinci's highly enough. Even though the hotel was busy the service levels were exceptional. We had breakfast the next morning and again it was faultless. Without doubt, the next time I return to Derry I will stay in Da Vinci's.
We had my husband's surprise birthday party in the Style bar and it was a great success. A small group of us had dinner in the restaurant before, and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and gave great choice and value for money. Despite the fact that the restaurant was very busy, the service was friendly, efficient and professional. We will visit the restaurant again for sure. As for the party, all the staff we encountered were really helpful and enthusiastic in helping to keep the secret. We couldn't have asked for more, thank you!
I've been in for dinner quite a few times and I am always left impressed by the fantastic customer service and great food. On my last visit I had the delicious Daube of Beef and the dauphinoise potatoes! Whilst the food never disappoints, it's the staff which are a real highlight for me- they are incredibly friendly and nothing is ever a problem. Many thanks to Aoife who was our waitress for the night. She is a credit to DaVinci's Hotel! Keep up the great work DV!
