Just checked in, Bathroom not clean to my standards, no face clothes, no safe, no queen bed as promised but a PANT PRESSER (how archaic) and hotel lobby having the unpleasant odor of cigarettes. On the up side, the front desk was helpful and pleasant. NOT looking forward to breakfast tomorrow. Downside, tired old lady hotel that's needs a make over. Yuck.

Although I only stayed one night the hotel supplied everything I needed. The rooms were clean, the staff very friendly and in spite of the fact that I arrived late, I was able to get a meal in the restaurant.

Stayed overnight with a friend, without doubt we had the largest hotel room ive ever been in. Fantastic hotel, staff excellent, service great, rooms comfortable, live music in bar was superb, delicious cocktails and canapes on a Friday evening, and a first class breakfast to end a wonderful experience. Could not find fault at all with the City Hotel, and highly recommend. We hope to come back sooner rather than later.

My sister and I had a fantastic break at City Hotel Derry, staying in one of the most beautiful bedrooms on Floor 7. The staff is wonderful and we experienced that special Irish warmth & friendly hospitality, and always with a genuine willingness to please. We loved the atmosphere at the bars and the music and it was really great to find that the hotel is also enjoyed by local people which was definitely a positive sign for us. Unlike many hotels around the globe, it was clear that the this hotel actually realises that we travelers have choices to make and in choosing this hotel we were treated as valuable guests and that is very refreshing. Will definitely return when next in beautiful Derry City.

Ive been here with family on 4 or 5 occasions in past few months. Every time i try the Guinness i have to give up after the first never tastes right, the head is poor and the glass remains much as i enjoy the hotel i would frequent it more often if the Guinness was better....

We stayed overnight at the City Hotel in Derry and would recommend it to any travellers. The room was spacious and comfortable. The amenities were adequate, clean and comfortable. The Hotel is situated along the Foyle River and close to the Peace Bridge which are both worth a look. The staff were very helpful even to the extent as to offer directions to help us on our next stage of our holiday. We felt the price was competitive and well worth the money spent. We ate in the bar area and found the meal very enjoyable. We would recommend this Hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for work and it was really nice. The hotel restaurant was really nice and I had a lovely meal. There were also some nice treats in the room which were complimentary as I had an upgraded room. Great views of the river from where I was and there was a good wifi in the good. Really good breakfast selection so overall a great stay

I recently held my Daughter's First Communion dinner here. The staff were a credit to the hotel both in the event planning and service on the day. Food was lovely and the event itself went to plan perfectly.

Firstly, great location & a great easter weekend getaway deal - great value & right next to everything worth seeing. Beautiful decor & a lovely late bar too - so overall was good. Would have given very good, but: Few things stopped it - 1st, I asked for bruschetta & specified no onions (due to intolerance, plus it's not a dish that uses onions)- anyway, there was onions under the tomatoes which I promptly left- by the damage was done, I was ill for about 3 days after. 2nd, the best sheets were all crushed as if made up in a hurry without changing them on our arrival (that's a hygiene worry). 3rd, staff after checking in not helpful or friendly at all (except the night bar man). small issues but the difference between excellent & average.

Booked an overnight stay during the Jazz festival. The hotel was packed all the time and the staff were very helpful and pleasant even though they were working under very difficult circumstances. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and I will go back.
