Room was very nicely appointed and the hotel was very clean. About a 10 minute walk to downtown and 15 minutes to the main museum. The included breakfast was top notch. I would definitely stay here again
This hotel is in a very convenient location close to the Marques de Pombal and with Lisbon’s city centre about 2 km away. The hop on hop off buses main point is only 1-2 minutes walk. The hotel has a newew and older section, it is completely non-smoking with free Wifi. Bed is comfortable, flat screen TV, piped music, safe etc. Rooms are serviced daily however they do not provide you with any free water . Also if you are tea drinker like me, take your own regular tea bags as they only provide you with one per day! The dUk restaurant in the hotel serves some great dishes and reasonably priced. Breakfast was good and the staff overall courteous and pleasant.
The Turim Av. Liberdade was a pleasant hotel but had a few features that were frustrating. Firstly the rooms were very small. Two of us could not pass one another at the foot of the beds and there was hardly space for two bags. The hotel has two sides and we therefore had to take two lifts or use the stairs to go up one floor from the entrance and then walk to the other end of the building to get a lift to the room. The lifts were very small and when busy, like after breakfast, it could take a very long time. We were disappointed in the café so only ate there once. We could not find any English language channels on the television. The location is excellent and I found the staff very pleasant, There was an extensive breakfast which was excellent. Avenida Liberdade is a beautiful avenue and it is a very pleasant walk down to the river and the oldest area of the city. There is also a metro stop quite close.
The hotel is 20 minutes walk from downtown , but there is a metro stop very close by for those that don't want to walk. Very nice place to stay , luxurious modern rooms, very friendly staff , and the car parks around the hotel made it very convenient. The hotel restaurant was very good as well and wouldn't mind staying there again.
We were looking forward to our stay in Lisbon, unfortunately we were very disappointed with this hotel. The rooms were very small, we travelled around Portugal and of all the hotels we stayed in, this Had the smallest rooms. The bathroom walls were all glass and the bathroom was tiny, no where even to hang your towel. The towels were threadbare, the sheet was ripped and thin, and there was a plastic sheet over the mattress which you could feel through the thin sheet. It was great having an electric jug, but we were only given 2 teabags over the three days we were there. On the positive side, we found the breakfast good and the staff were quite friendly, especially the staff in the restaurant at the back. We will not stay in this hotel again and would not recommend it.
I booked using booking.com in a rush as rooms were scarce the week I was staying in Lisbon. I booked a non-refundable rate and did it quickly without reading reviews on different sites. After doing so I read many poor reviews, several saying that the staff do not speak English, I regretted making the booking, but couldn't cancel. When I arrived the receptionist was very nice and did speak English very well. I asked about the availability of a double bed and without hesitation he said " I will have my colleagues put the beds together and make a double" they immediately did. I started to relax and doubt the poor reviews. That was short lived. That night I watched some TV and slept early, I put the breakfast request on the door, I expected by breakfast between 7:30-8, at 8:05 it hadn't arrived, I opened the door and the paper was still hanging there, I called room service and reception each more than 4 times before I was answered and told that it would take 30 min to bring me continental breakfast. When I asked that they hurry, I was told "this isn't our fault" as if it was mine. When it came it was some orange drink that had separated, coffee (enough for 1 cup only), meats and cheese and some good breads. No water. There was also no water in the room. When I came back after my meeting the TV channels had nearly all stopped working, all of the English channels were unavailable. During my stay I asked 5 times for this to be looked at, it was never fixed. I tried to have dinner in the tiny restaurant ( it was raining so I didn't want to leave the hotel) it was full, no room service menu in the room, reception said I had to call and ask what they have. I ordered Pizza and a glass of wine, it arrived uncovered on a tray and cold, again, no water which is usually standard with room service. It had a strong smell, I called many times to ask someone to take it, no answer. I put it in the hall, in the morning when I let, it was still there.I again put the breakfast request on their door and again no one collected it. I again had to call many times, when reception finally answered me I was told I shouldn't be calling room service, they have "a problem" as if I should know that. When my breakfast arrived they orange drink wasn't included, no problem as it looked dreadful, but still I didn't say I don't want it, no utensils for the bread and jam, the jam is kiwi which is a unique choice, I do not like kiwis, but others might. The shower gel soap and shampoo are poor quality as are the towels and bedding.Bed is rock hard. No chairs on the balcony, no milk or artificial sweetener with the in room coffee/tea. When they replaced coffee cups they never replaced spoons It was just a very poor experience and not worth over 200 euro per night. At check our I was not asked if everything was alright. It seems they know very well all is bad.
Spent 6 days here in the heart of Lisbon, easy walking to old part of town and also to main sites. Best part of stay was our new found friendship with bartender, Duarte who gave us extensive lessons in gin, tonic and our new favorite, white port. Duarte, or Dwight, was the most gracious host when we returned from our sightseeing every afternoon and when we came in later for a night cap.
Great location, nice rooms, good beds, friendly service and reasonable priced. Everything on walking distance and taxis just in front of the hotel. Good wifi and comfortable lounge! !There are several hotels in Lisbon from the same brand!
Definitely more a place for business travellers. The rooms are fairly small. It was quite tight for the two of us. Nonetheless, rooms were clean and the bathroom was quite spaceous. The website is a bit missleading as it says there are a spa and a pool - but there aren't. The walk to the city center takes about 20 minutes so you are away from the busy pedistrian streets. However, the windows are not very tight. You can hear the street noise all night long... Breakfast is decent and has a fairly big selection but you can get a great breakfast in the city for a lot less.
