IT is a hidden gem. Staff are extremely friendly. The room is small. The roof top bar is absolutely stunning.

I was expecting way more out if this hotel for the price of the room. The room was very small and underwhelming. The pool was very small as well but the deck and view was pretty terrific. Expansive views of Alfama and both lounge and tables were available but the chairs were not very comfortable.

This was my second time in Lisbon and I definitely wanted to stay at Memmo Alfama this time. The hotel lobby, lounge, rooms etc - very modern chic and stylish. I was mesmerized by the views from the rooftop terrace esp in morning having breakfast and sipping coffee and watching the city / residents In their daily routine. Evenings having a drink at sunsets and sound of church bells making it so memorable. Alfama rooms are spacious I guess. We switched to terrace room. Loved the view from there ( room 17) but was little smaller than Alfama. The staff was so helpful. They have car valet service at a reasonable rate. Their breakfast buffet was just perfect (including their made to order my special omelette). Location is unbeatable. You are right in center of everything and yet it’s so peaceful and quite especially the entry alley to the hotel. The manager Pedro is helpful, friendly and courteous and will make sure your stay is without any issues. Can’t wait to our next stay at this hotel :)! We stayed in Alfama room as well as Terrace room. My husband loved the Alfama room since they were bigger but I liked the Terrace room since I can walk into terrace/ lounge/ pool area and loved watching sunrise from our room :) Nevertheless the rooms are stylish, spotless ( very clean), and loves the comfortable beds!

The hotel staff are accommodating and the rooms are comfortable and well designed. Wish we could have longer!

We were in Lisbon only for 22 hours due to layover and we are so glad to stay there. The first night we ate at the restaurant and in the morning, they have such wonderful selections of breakfast- warm food upon request and buffet. All the staff are so kind, But... the most wonderful thing about this hotel is the view! It is so relaxing and the location is also really great. We love Portugal and from now on, this place is where we will stay in Lisbon for sure.

Our stay at Memmo Alfama was a highlight of our trip to Portugal. The location and views cannot be surpassed. The hotel staff went out of their way to help us. Not to mention one of the best breakfasts, which were included with the room. A better hotel than many which cost far more.

lovely design hotel, very quiet, in the busy Alfama district, very near the Se cathedral

This was an amazing find. It was in walking distance to all of the sites. Great shopping, restaurants and Fado nearby. Very well done hotel with spectacular rooftop pool and bar. Cozy rooms. Amazing shower. Very good breakfast included with attentive waiter. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Only suggestion would be to do your research before you get there. Adorable girl at the front suggested we go to Hard Rock Cafe. Oops. All other suggestions after that moment were ignored.

I have been working in the travel industry for over 12 yrs and this is the best hotel stay I have ever had. Period. The staff is warm, friendly and helpful. The rooms are bright, clean, modern and cozy. The lounge areas made me feel like I was in my own home. I do not like big box/chain hotels and always am looking for a unique, intimate experience. Memmo Alfama is that. I didn't want to leave. It's overall feel is laid back, warm, modern and sophisticated. I will recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Lisbon and I will forever stay there when I return. It was perfect.

We stayed here based largely on good online reviews. And we now agree with those reviews! It was was a very pleasant stay at this is a newly renovated / modern style property in an ancient part of Lisbon. The common area and bed rooms are extremely clean and functional. Our room was listed as "partial view" (or something like that) which meant you had to step up on a little step to see out the window. But it was worth the lower cost than a "full view" room because the common deck areas offer great views of the river and the city. Its perfect for morning coffee and evening drinks/snacks. There is also a small pool (too cold for our use this visit). All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Don't be put off by its dead-end road location. Very convenient to walk to the city or to pick up the electric tram. My only complaint (minor) was the volume and choice of music playing all day long in breakfast area and deck. I would recommend to the hotel staff to perhaps turn volume down lower during early morning hours. I did not give it 5* only because many people interpret that to mean a glamorous/ritzy hotel. But make no mistake, this is a really great straightforward hotel that meets or exceeds all basic needs.

I was a little concerned to find it located down a little alley but then realised it was quiet spot in the otherwise busy area of Alfama. We were warmly greeted upon arrival by Andre who took us to our room and introduced us to everything we might need at the hotel. We had a Superior River View room which had a fabulous view down to the river. Very comfortable, well designed, not huge but big enough and included a sitting area and desk. Loved the fact that I could shower and look through the glass across the room to the great view. There is a privacy curtain for those who need it. Heard some noise from room above but otherwise quiet. The rooftop bar/pool area is fabulous! Enjoyed some tapas and wine, with fantastic service from Gancalo (a.k.a. Speedy). Breakfast was included and was wonderful, in a relaxed lounge room type environment. Lovely European buffet of fruits, pastries, meats, cheeses, breads, cereals, yoghurt. Eggs any way could be ordered along with all varieties of coffees and teas. Another nice feature was the 'oven' a little library for some quite reading about Lisbon/Portugal before setting off for a day of exploring. The Castelo S. Jorge was a 5 minute walk from the hotel too! Chiado area was about 10 minutes walk and Bairro Alto about 15 mins so all in all a super location!
