Built in 1932, this inviting 2 bedroom 1 bath home has been recently renovated. The kitchen is fully equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and stove.

Steve is an absolutely wonderful host. The house is certainly cute, but it is older. My sister and I were visiting family close by so we didn’t spend much time at the Mermaid House…basically just a nice, comfortable place to sleep. Didn’t use the kitchen at all and Steve was immediately on a small issue we had with the bathroom sink. Great location in a Mt. Dora neighborhood close to downtown.

Perfect house for a girl's weekend! Very well appointed and comfortable with plenty of seating throughout. The kitchen was clean and had everything we needed for cooking in house. Great location in a quiet neighborhood only a short distance from downtown Mt Dora. Need to make a trip to this house an annual event!

This place was awesome! Very clean, well maintained and the location was fantastic. Walking into town was easy and the neighbors were friendly, even to us out of towners. Our two little dogs loved it and clean up in the yard was easy. It was great having a little fenced in back yard to let them out in. We checked the fence to make sure they couldn't get it, and no problem, even for our little dogs- no escapes! Lets put it this way, We loved it! Definitely recommend this place!

over all we give it 3 stars. It was about a half mile from town. Nice to have it pet friendly. A/C worked great. Kitchen was adequate too. Nice TV. We had a hard time sleeping, the beds need a foam topper of some kind. They are hard! Bath room had a sad little shower head, minimal bath towels and wash clothes. Hardly any soap! The foam containers had watered down soap, basically no soap. One sample size tiny bar in the shower, and i mean tiny. We had to go out and buy soap. Scant little shampoo, only one! So bring your own. Sorry to not be more positive- for the price i dont think we would repeat this stay. The back patio was too dirty to use.

Girls week

Sweet little place with everything necessary that you could possibly need and super clean. We loved the little special touches thoughout. It is located nicely with walking distance to town and about a 15 minute walk. We walked back and forth a couple times a day, nice walk. We sat out on the front porch every morning and it was quiet, all you heard were the birds chirping. There is a nice area out back for lounging and in addition a firepit. Super quiet at night also. Mt. Dora is a special town with many boutiques, galleries, shops & restaurants. We also took the boat ride down the canal with Rusty Anchor, its always a must see for me in Mt. Dora and love sharing it with others. Tavares is only about 10 minutes away with a wonderful roof top lounge, bi-planes flying over the water and several waterfront restaurants. Its a great area for exploring. I am familiar with the area but my friend from North Carolina had never been and absolutely loved it! Favorite restaurants while there were Pisces Rising (great mojitos for 5 during happy hour!), Goblin Market and The Yardery. I would highly recommend The Mermaid Cottage, it won't dissapoint!

This house is absolutely adorable! We loved our time there and would absolutely book again. The owner was incredibly responsive with all questions and even mailed back a dress that was accidents left. Could not recommend this property more!
