Incredible stay with the most welcoming staff. The gardens at the Orchid are among the most amazing I've ever seen, thousands of different species. Great food at the hotel restaurant as-well! Breakfast was also fantastic. Only regret is that I didn't stay longer!

We stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful night at the Fiji Orchid they ground were beautiful and we enjoyed the Orchids and flora. The lodge where Raymonds restaurant was stunning with excellent jazz playing and delicious food was served by very attentive wait staff. The homemade bread was excellent with sun-dried tomato dip as a complementary entree whilst we waited for lobster to arrive served with champagne just lovely. We were close to the airport and the staff provided breakfast in our burre as it was so early and a free transfer to the airport. One day we had the pool to ourselves it was fabulous we would recommend it all.

We stayed at the Fiji Orchid for two nights on our way to Nukubati Island (owned by the same hotel owners) and loved it. Very nice rooms, staff, amazing food at Raymond's Restaurant. Lots of different trips can be organised by their team which we did including the Mud Pools and Garden of the Sleeping Giant.

We were apprehensive when we went to The Fiji Orchid, we had read review that made the place sound terrible – but what a complete load or rubbish, I have no idea what her issue was but it is a complete load of gobbledygook. Let me make this clear we do not know the owners, we were not on a junket and we paid full price for our rooms and it was awesome. From the moment you arrived the staff were attentive and welcoming, the check in experience was great and when we were led through the tropical gardens to our villa we were "wow this is great' Inside they were clean and cleverly put together and everything from tea and coffee to extra soap was perfect - AnnaW48 – (the reviewer) who wrote such a terrible review - I am not sure what your agenda is but that type of misreporting is malicious - To the staff at The Fiji Orchid thanks for a great stay the food was excellent, the peaceful location great – will 100% be back!!!

Travelling back from an island holiday stay, we booked the Fiji Orchid for two nights to prepare ourselves for the return home to reality. Close to the airport the rate includes free shuttle transfer. Lovely welcoming staff, unique "Bure" rooms with the comfiest bed we think we have ever slept in! Rooms and rest of the property were really clean & the food at Raymond's Restaurant was delicious. They also make very generous cocktails :)

Grossly overpriced for a dirty and weird experience in a shabby hotel. UNWELCOMING AND CONFUSING ARRIVAL: Upon check in the staff seemed surprised and almost irritated I was there. They offered little or no information about the hotel and forgot to give me a key for my room. SHABBY AND DIRTY: Entire place was dilapidated and uncared for. Pool was shabby, dirty and gross with male staff chilling out on loungers by pool, made me feel uncomfortable as a lone female guest. No additional information in room about resort, ammenities or how to use the aircon etc in room or what is included in room rate. Room and bed was clean on surface but opening any cupboards or looking under bed revealed grubby and uncared for state. Bathroom toiletries were half empty and used. Canvas roof of bure was stained and grubby. Good wifi- but not available in public areas. WATER ISSUES: No running water in afternoon I arrived (not hotel’s fault as supplies were running low across area) and they had provided a tub for washing in. But was reassured it would be back on in the evening- it was, but no clarity of information WHEN water would work resulting in no shower for me in the morning- even if they said they didn’t know would have been better than implying once it came back on it would be on again permanently- as this led to my ending up without a shower in the evening or morning! NO EVENING ATMOSPHERE/POOR SERVICE: Bar area deserted (by guests and staff!) in evening- no one to order drinks from before dinner. When staff arrived dinner served directly no water/bread/drinks offered beforehand- almost as if they just wanted me to leave quickly. Miserable atmosphere, silent and almost creepy- music eventually put on. NOISY AREA AT NIGHT: Conversely, when I went back to bure to sleep night was noisy with airplanes overhead, due to proximity over airport, loud main road and regular call to prayer. All fine but not clear from any of the reviews. AIRPORT DAY BEATS DAY HERE! Breakfast more welcoming and friendly but by then I was well and truly on edge and did not want to spend a minute more there- checked out early as spending day at airport preferable to spending a lonely and creepy day there!

What a beautiful hotel and a great way to fold into island time! We stayed (2 couples) 2 nights before joining a cruise and we loved the rooms ( so open and airy). Since there are only 6 bungalows you are treated like guests from start to finish. The food was excellent and the pool and gardens are beautiful. Raymond Burr would be proud to see this now. Ledge was a great waiter and he really adds a personal touch. Internet worked best of all the places we stayed. Only negative was we had some laundry done and they brought it back to the room wet and laid it over the chairs so we had to hang it up over night to dry. We were torn between staying here and on Denarau Island and wow did we make the right decision.

While planning our 11 night Fiji Holiday we started at Coral Coast, then an Island and to be back in time for flight need a night near Nadi airport. I had seen info about the Garden of the Sleeping Giant. This garden was developed by Raymond Burr. If like me, you enjoyed him as Perry Mason and Ironside before colour TV . He loved his orchids and he bequeathed the garden to the Fiji Government when he died. My web searches on this led me to The Fiji Orchid as it was owned by Raymond as his private house. It looked amazing and because you are reading my review I guess you are now at the same point that I was...…. Here is my review! I had booked 10 months prior to the holiday through Jetstar and I must say that the price I paid was a lot less than the current rate so maybe give them a call direct or send them a facebook message to negotiate a deal. So, when in Fiji before we went to an Island I messaged The Fiji Orchid through Facebook page as transport from the airport is included. Prompt replies and arrangements were made for their driver to pick us up and would meet inside the terminal at a specified office which was easy to find. They would have picked us up from Port Denarau for an extra charge but we did not need this. Our driver was there right on time. Upon arrival we were greeted with orchids pinned to our tops and the boys took our luggage to our Bure. The lovely La checked us in and made dinner arrangements for us. She then escorted us to our Bure and told us about everything we may need to know. We had some bubbly with us and requested some ice. La got us a huge icebucket full of ice straight away. Now the Bure is gorgeous as you can see from the photos. A very comfortable King bed with pillowtop mattress. Cold air conditioning which can be adjusted. Good sized fridge. Very nice bathroom with great water pressure from rainman showerhead. No TV seems standard in Fiji but free Wifi is good for netflix and spotify downloads. There is a Mosquito net over the bed but its more for show as we did not encounter any mozzies or other bugs inside or outside. Two golf umbrellas are in the room in case of rain for your walk to the restaurant. There is only 6 Bures in this resort. It's Adults Only and non-smoking. There was only 1 other solo traveller staying here. The manicured gardens are full, lush and tropical. With the bure being fully glassed around the sides it was "like waking up in a terrarium" my wife said.. The pool area is very nice with quality sun lounges and cantilever umbrellas. The pool itself is clean and has a lovely rock and fountain feature. The pool would once have been magnificent but the pool surface is getting a little old and worn.. The attached spa was not working and is unappealing. The walk to Raymond's Restaurant is a raised footpath through the gardens followed by a steepish staircase. La met us there in role of bar tender and waiter. It has very nice décor with large lounges and a well stocked bar area. There are cane settings for dining surrounded by orchids. Apparently the young chef has won awards and the food was delicious. I had the grilled Lobster tail and my wife the fish. We finished with the Fiji Orchid Pie and icecream. All meals are around the same price. Total cost dinner for two was under $100AUD. We met the resort manager Mitimiti at dinner. After dinner we returned to our Bure and met a security guard who patrols the resort. Our bed was turned down, The curtains around the glass windows were closed and the mosquito net was opened. The bed was very comfortable and the rain on the canvas roof made for a pleasant nights sleep. Breakfast is included in the price and included a choice of pancakes, 2 eggs cooked how you like or omelettes. Then a choice of a side of bacon, chipolata, mushrooms, baked beans, spaghetti, etc .. You can purchase more if you like. Coffee and tea included and we were also given a seasonal fruit selection to begin. Homemade bread toasted must be tried with the guava jam. We were waited on by Tim, a very bright and happy young man. Checkout is 11am but we had a booking in Nadi 1030. We had arranged for our complimentary transfer to the airport at 9.45. A young fellow collected our luggage just prior to this and we checked out. Mitimiti happily drove us just a little past the airport to our booking. Do yourself a favour and stay here if you need a night near Nadi airport. It's about 15 mins away.

From a genuinely warm welcome, first class food and service, this unique hotel was a delight for lunch. Their young, award winning chef produces food which ticks all the boxes. If I had to stay in the Nadi area again, I would definitely return. As a potential venue for events, this is somewhere worth considering as a smaller hotel, the staff are able to give excellent service and tailor something individual. Whilst I was meeting people for lunch only, I didn't stay in the hotel, that said the bhures looked inviting and were set amidst well established, beautiful gardens I felt would be a most wonderful retreat from the madness of city life.

The grounds, the lodging, and the staff were wonderful. This place is just gorgeous. The food and the pool were lacking. The food was a 3/10 at best and the pool needs updating/repairs (it is a gorgeous set-up). Also, the drinks were overpriced and only the Pina Colada was drinkable. If the food, drinks, and pool are improved, this place would be a solid gem.
