Stayed for 4 nights with my family, which includes a 4 & 7 year old. I chose it because it wasn’t so far to go after a 24 hr travelling journey from Canada, it has a nice beach and the price was fair for what we needed. It indeed was an easy taxi ride and quick boat ride, a greeting that was warm and brought tears to my eyes (don’t want to give away the sweet surprise), and they immediately warmly took our kids by the hand and led them to hugs and cookies. We arrived really early in the day, so they gave us a temporary room to freshen up in and nap if we needed, even though they didn’t have to, but that was so appreciated. When we got our room, it was clean, lovely hot water, comfortable beds, perfect a/c, fridge, just what we needed, simple and nice. They loved the children and always had a smile for them. Had a massage which was inexpensive, clean and professional. The beach was clean, being tidied often from litter than washes over from the city across the water, the boat service as needed was convenient into town, the pool was all we needed, the restaurant was good. The best part? Their singing. Especially Toki (Setoki?) sitting beside me in the restaurant and pulling out his guitar and singing me the most beautiful Fijian song. That made my year. Thank you. Overall, I would do the same, especially after a long flight from Canada before heading elsewhere into Fiji.
I visited Belo Bula Resort on Bekana Island for a day trip, you catch a small boat from Lautoka.Went over to Bar and Restaurant for the day, great views from the lsland, the food was great and beers cold. The staff make you feel welcome also very friendly. Will return when I return to fiji
Have just spent 6 nights here and loved it. The room was great …we were a little way away from the restaurant and landing dock so little traffic and noise. We had our own sun chairs and hammock so had a lovely relaxed time. The restaurant was good.. the whole fish was amazing. The staff are fabulous they really are friendly and helpful. Could not have asked for more. There is nobody coming around promoting activities each hour as in other resorts but there is great snorkeling and canoes and paddle boards when and if you want them. There are day trippers but they did not disturb us. The family who own the resort were there and they were fantastic so friendly and inclusive. We loved our stay and would go back....it is a beautiful island close to mainland ( we went to the movies one night and out to dinner another and went shopping... all a free 10 minute boat ride away) . Great spot!
Stayed 2 nights at their Beach Bure and enjoyed everything about the place. Free use of snorkeling, paddle boarding and kayaking gears. Boat transfers from Lautoka City takes only 3 minutes to which I may add is also free. Food is simple and delicious. Clean and quiet with friendly staff readily available. It's no 5 star resort but it's the the best value for your money. Will definately visit again.
Awesome day visit, weather perfect warm sunny bright blue skies. Lovely small island resort laid back and total relaxation. Belo Vula definitely have genuine service staffs been day visitors we were cared equally. Delightfully yummy food (pizza, green salad chicken & chips), they honoured our food preference without hesitation. Atmosphere, food and staffs contributed to our satisfactory experience. Vinaka Vakalevu.
We spent two nights in a beachfront bure at Belo Vula and really enjoyed ourselves. The island is tiny and super relaxing. This place isn't flash (definitely not one of the super resort type places) but the accommodation is spacious and comfortable and free use of kayaks/paddle boards, trips to the mainland are appreciated. The best thing about the experience is the local staff. They're super friendly and they make the stay a real pleasure. Excellent value and a great getaway!
We loved staying here... .. a small island with friendly staff and a relaxed vibe. Only a 5 min private boat ride from Lautoka. ($15 for day trippers). We initially were put into one of the rooms slightly behind the beachfront (by a few metres) and asked if we could move to a beachfront Bure. This wasn’t a problem for staff and we discovered that these rooms are larger with extra single beds. They are air conditioned (and also have ceiling fans). There are coffee/tea making facilities and a fridge. We had some of our own food which was great for snacks and lunches. There is a wee dining area also in the room or dine on the porch overlooking the sea. Rooms are kept very clean by a great team of smiling girls. Breakfast is complimentary and enough to keep you going- toast, cereal, fruit, fresh baking and juice/tea/coffee. We absolutely love the meals we had especially the Kokoda (raw fish) which you have to try and the huge pizzas- the medium feeds 2 or 3 people. Bartenders were really friendly as were all staff. We went on a sunset cruise with the owner which was a lot of fun- swimming off the boat, watching the sunset and viewing the ghost ship. Snorkelling was ok especially as the island is offshore from a town. A lot of dead coral and some rubbish but you do get to see a variety of fish life. Best area is between the jetty and lighthouse. Flippers are good as there is a bit of a current. You can’t walk around the island due to mangroves but can kayak around if you can cope with the current. There is nothing else on the island. One thing we thought the resort could work on was controlling the number of day visitors as seats are taken from outside rooms and the pool gets very full. We were ok with swimming in the pool at night when they had gone as we love to snorkel. The beach outside the rooms is safe for children... shallow for quite a way out. A few more hammocks would be great- recommend ‘chair in the air’ fiji made hammocks and swing...Devine. You can go to Lautoka by boat any time and it is a 5 min walk into the market where fresh fruit is plentiful. There are also lots of curry houses for a meal or takeaway. If you have a price through a booking agent, check with the resort first as they will generally better or match this price. These sites take a % of the profit so best to give the resort the opportunity first. This is not a perfect Denerau resort but is more authentic... and you really know you are in fiji. Thank you everyone at Belo Vula for making our stay so enjoyable.
We stayed for five nights in January 2019. It is an amazing place to stay. The bures (accommodation rooms) are really spacious, with good bathrooms, fridges, AC, fans etc, and kept really clean by the staff. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff are all helpful, friendly and good at what they do. We had an issue with a shower, we let the staff know and it was fixed immediately. And everything was always done with a big Fijian smile. The place is on a private island (it is the only place on the island), but only a 5 minute boat ride (free if you stay, $15 for day visitors) from Lautoka (a town with big market, shops etc) on the mainland and then 20 min drive to Nadi airport, so easy to get to. For the more energetic, there are kayaks (new and in good condition), SUPs (less well maintained e.g. no fins), life jackets, and lots of snorkels and fins - all free if you stay and a small change if you visit for the day. The snorkeling is better than I expected. There is lots to see very close to shore, so you don't need to be a strong swimmer to appreciate it. The coral is growing and there are lots of fish to see. The restaurant is fine; the food is pretty good and reasonably priced. The pizzas are huge (the smallest, a medium, easily feeds two adults). The resort is cheaper than the bigger resorts at Denarau. It is not flash (which I like), but has everything you need to a really relaxing stay in a beautiful place. I really recommend Belo Vula.
My cousins and I went for a day trip to Bekana Island and were very happy with everything. The food at Belo Vula was great, the pizza's are very tasty and filling. Beers are nice and chilled. I'd like to make a special mention of Joe (Joeli) who was the bartender and gave us the best service with a smile we could ask for. There were a lot of people on the island that day but our food and drinks didn't take too long to arrive. The staff are also very friendly and informative. What a great day we all had. The tiny huts are a very relaxing place. The place is great and is total value for money.
Very, very comfortable resort. All staff were so ready to make my stay as smooth and easy as possible. So accommodating. My beach-front room was superior. The restaurant food was very good. The wifi was only accessible from the bar/lounge/restaurant area but it was strong and free. A free boat-trip to and from the main island was always available — always. A special thank you to Remy (welcoming and registering) and Wah (in the office) - for their professional handling of all requests. And also to Joelle, who was so much fun. (sorry, the spelling of all names is probably not correct). The owner was present on occasion and, on his own accord, took the time to talk with me. This was a perfect place to spend the last couple of days of my Fijian trip!
