Had a great stay at the Westin Langkawi. Everything you would expect from the westin brand. Great service and large rooms About 30 mins drive from the airport. Recommend you hire a car. Very easy to drive around

Located near the eagle square and the jetty point on the south east part of Langkawi, this resort has a very picturesque view of the bay and a nice private beach. It is a 25 min drive from the airport. We traveled as a couple and stayed in the partial sea view room in the main resort building. There are one bedroom villas with private pools as well, which are more expensive. But if you are really looking for luxury, I would highly recommend that. The partial sea view room was quite spacious and had a balcony opening to a view of the garden and the sea. The surroundings are very quiet and relaxing. Cleanliness & service - The property is a little old. However, it is quite well maintained and clean. To top it all, the service was excellent. The staff were all very polite and efficient and spoke English. Breakfast - Nice extensive spread consisting of local and continental options. Connectivity - One can easily get a grab at any time to go to sightseeing spots like the sky cab/sky bridge or to shopping spots like the cenang beach etc. Food - This is perhaps the only thing that did not impress me much. I would say it was average at best. Try visiting the local restaurants instead. Would recommend everyone to try out the 'Breeze' bar and lounge in the evening as the cocktails there are pretty amazing and cheap at the same time! They also have live music in the bar on some days.

We spent 3 nights in the Westin, in one of their superior rooms, which was a decent size with a large shower room. Whilst we were unpacking a monkey tried to open the window! There was a monkey warning sticker on the window. We loved the resort, the pools, the friendly staff, the comfy bed and the great food. The only issue we had was trying to get some more milk for coffee in our room. The first time we asked it didn't arrive, the 2nd time more coffee arrived, eventually we received a full litre of milk, which lasted for the rest of our stay. If we ever come back to Langkawi, we will stay at the Westin again.

Enjoy the view very much. Unfortunately we cant swim at the sea. Really relaxing place to stay. Should offer the buggy trip around the hotel will impress your guests The staff is not good in attending guest. New staff i guess. But its ok

On arrival, reception area looked fabulous and we were given a warm welcome, drinks, cold flannels by lovely staff. Checked in at a comfortable table with seating and told our two interconnecting rooms had been upgraded - not convinced that we were actually given an upgrade though as the hotels own website says they were the same size as we’d originally booked (very confusing but we didn’t query it). We were escorted to our room which seemed a long walk from everything but once you’d gotten your head around the hotel layout, it really wasn’t (rooms 1212 and 1214). Having left the lovely reception, the walk to our rooms led us via tired corridors with stained carpets - not what you’d expect from a 5star resort. Rooms were spacious and light with everything you could need. Our kids (17 and 12) had twin double beds which they were thrilled with, whilst we had a king size. Rooms were nicely decorated and bathrooms were ok. We booked superior patio rooms but ended up with superior garden view (as I said, not sure what this all about or how we ‘benefited’??). View was of garden and side of the restaurant area in the distance. Couldn’t see pools or ocean but that was ok. Was rather surprised at poor state of patio furniture which was plastic rattan and all frayed!! This caught our clothing and was rather uncomfortable without a towel over it. Not five star!!! Breakfast was included in our stay - this was ok except the people at the egg station can’t cook poached eggs (fried per taste are hit and miss too) 😂😂. Limited cereals available, variety of cooked food (obviously no pork products), fruits, Malaysian breakfast, bread and pastries....no oat porridge??? Staff around the hotel always greet you and are very friendly. Pools all looked nice - most visually attractive being the rock pool. Sadly, all three pools are in need of some repair which although minor would make such a difference. Plastic rattan sunbeds were found to be frayed and looked rather worse for wear. Again, not crucial but not five star. Pool area sun beds were equipped with staff buttons to call for drinks etc. Response times were very slow and orders not always correct. On one occasion I actually went to Tides to chase up our order and was told I needed to find one of the staff outside as he (guy behind the bar blowing up balloons??), couldn’t help me - all I wanted was a jug of milk for my coffee! Pool snacks were excellent and plentiful! Calamari to die for and we also had a lovely selection of small bites - chicken and beef satay, bbq Chicken tenders and fries - delicious but agonisingly slow to arrive. Really delicious though. Ate at hotel international buffet once - not blown away by it, though it was ok. No atmosphere and nights here do end early. Enjoyed room service on our last day - this was delicious and very speedy. We ordered simple burger and fries to set us up for the journey ahead. My daughter had her 12th birthday whilst we were at the Westin and the hotel left her a cake a day early and with the wrong name but it was very generous of them all the same. Realising their mistake, a second cake was send the next day with her right name on it 😂👍 We had an issue with an item of clothing (nightwear) missing from our room - I’m certain this was gathered up accidentally when the beds were changed. We didn’t make a huge fuss but did report it and were very upset to return early to our room one night to find two women searching our room for it (drawers, wardrobes and possibly my beach bag but can’t be certain of the last bit). We complained to management about this who did ask to meet us to apologise but we had little time left of our holiday to waste on pointless conversations that wouldn’t have changed how upset we were by it. Entertainment in the bar seems to be three lovely ladies (6 nights out of 7), who can really sing well and know a huge catalogue of songs. They really are good and lovely ladies but it’s a little samey....... In all, hotel could do with some housekeeping, replacing some furniture on patios, carpets and rugs, additional entertainment would be great and of course - egg station training 😂😂😂 We spent most of our days and several of our nights at the Westin’s sister hotel, the St Regis - now that IS 5 star!!!! (It is higher in price but worth it in our opinion and if we’d realised the difference, we’d have booked there instead). No comparison - see my separate review. Location was ok although we didn’t venture out of the hotel (and it’s sister hotel) very often, having spent three very busy days in KL. We did have a lovely time here (mainly thanks to St Regis) but would be delighted to see some simple improvements made at The Westin Langkawi 😎

The location of this resort is quite remote so if you want to see anything of Langkawi it won't be walkable (something I like on holiday). The communal areas of the hotel are lovely - very well designed, airy, lots of seating available but I found once you started walking to your room down identical bland corridors I found this area quite soulless and corporate...the two don't quite marry and that's why I've dropped the rating to 3. Breakfast is a buffet and to be honest there is so much choice that it was quite overwhelming (for me at least) but it means you can easily fill up here and not require lunch. There are a number of pools - one for children (very shallow), a deeper one for adults and a sort of play area one for everyone with boulders and waterfalls. There are plenty of sunbeds and towels available. The hotel is on a hill and the beach is at the bottom of the hill - there are plenty of sunbeds available here too and towels can be obtained from the watersport hut. We ate at the Tide restaurant a couple of times and the food and service was excellent. Special thanks to Harold who was so attentive, helpful and smiley :) There are very good facilities for sport - tennis court, squash court, table tennis table, pool table, air conditioned gym. We played squash whilst we were there and if you hadn't brought your gym gear with you, you could rent them which I thought was a great idea. Squash raquets and balls were free...daft idea to play in that humidity though...good workout but quite short lol

Everything awesome !! Amazing Staff were friendly all the times, breakfast is briliant. especially villa!! the rooms were luxurious. the beds really comfy and pillows excellent. and spacious private swimming pool. Thanks all .

This is one of an amazing hotel in the world Everything is perfect Price is expensive i hope they make it low Everything taste good Choose room garden view It's looking to garden and ocean 3 warm Swimming pool I enjoy 3 day's there

Spent a lovely 5 nights in Langkawi. The hotel resort is fairly large and spread out. The view from our room was lovely across the gardens and pools out to the sea. The room is well equipped with a mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom amenities are just ok...great powerful hairdryer (ladies will understand). Bathrobes were comical....sizing was hilarious....one of them was very small and when we called and asked for a larger size the replacement would just about fit a child however we did get there in the end. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, great selection to cater for all tastes...European/American, Malaysian etc etc. Good juicing and smoothie bar. Breakfast is a busy time and as we were there over Easter there were lots of families, so if traveling without kids would recommend an early breakfast. There’s a lovely stretch of private beach well equipped with loungers with a welcome breeze coming in off the sea. The pools are lovely, the rock pool, larger pool with a swim up bar and a more shallow pool. My only disappointment was that kids seemed to take over in all pools. Whilst I recognise this is a family resort it would be good to have a time of the day when at least one of the pools is an adults only. Other resorts manage it! We liked the sun downer happy hours towards the end of the day in the pool...however attention seeking screaming kids didn’t quite go with the G&T’s but that was more of the parents fault than the hotels. We ate a couple of nights in Breezes and the food was very good. Staff were on hand to make recommendations. Live music provided a back drop most nights of the week. The staff throughout the hotel from our arrival through to our departure were delightful and very attentive. They are a great team and a special thanks goes out to Nor for helping us in our onward travel arrangements. All in all a great stay and would recommend.

Beautifully located...by the beach in lush quite surroundings with views the are breathtaking.....if the fact when you arrive there the silence...fresh air and lack of pollution doesnt take your breath away....you enter this tranquil and well maintained hotel to be greated by super helpful staff and refreshments. Clean spacious and modern the rooms are stunning clean and impeccable!you could easily just spend the whole time in the hotel without even exploring the rest of the island....clear golden sands and blue seas... perfect get away if you're looking for a complete escape from daily life....the pool area is wonderful and clean with ice cold drinks being constantly provided....the variety of food was amazing and whenever i visit the far east im amazed how fresh and different it taste. The staff are more than helpful to suggest trips and organise cars the spa facilities ate highly recommended you will simply feel like you're somewhere else! Anyone visiting langkawi MUST stay here i dont think any of the other resorts would even come close!
