The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa5.0 out of 5.0

Loved every minute of our stay at the Westin Lankawi. Tucked away in the eastern side of the island, it was about 40minutes from the main beach and activity but that didn't bother us. The Westin has its own private beach and is about 5-10minute walk from a basic shopping mall and scooter hire. Taxis are also pretty cheap to sightsee. There are plenty of beach activities to do at the hotel as well as great gym facilities and exercise activities and the main buffet dining is pretty affordable if you are not game to try the local dining. Rooms are beautiful and the staff at the Westin Lankawi are so lovely and each person we came across really went above and beyond to make our stay special. Special thanks to Saiffol, Benjamin and Wenzel. We visited outside of school holidays and so it was fairly nice and quiet for couples but for families there is also a kids club and there are multiple great pools and decent separate ones for kiddies.
We are staying in the Westin Langkawi, what a fantastic place. Upon check-in we was asked if you wanted to Upgrade our room as the superior room we had booked didn't have a balcony just a window and the room would be very small, we decided to wait to see what the rooms was like before we made a decision- the rooms are lovely and airy and over look the gardens over the back of the hotel, clean towels and bedding every day. The hotel is outstanding and the staff can't do enough for you. The pool area is split into 3, the rock pool, kids pool and infinity pool with a swim up bar, lots of sun beds available through the day and pool towels are available. Breakfast - there is something for everyone from Curries with all the trimmings to a normal western breakfast, there are specialist coffee and hot chocolate but just ask the waiter. Evening meal - we ate in the Buffet just once but again this was outstanding with so much choices including chocolate fountains. We have caught Uber Taxi's all over in the island, the most but has cost has been £4 to Cenang Beach, local taxis are approx 3 times as much so it's worth down loading the app. The ferry port is a 10 min walk away, where we have done a day trip to Koh Lipe, the cost was approx £38 per person on a return ferry, I would advise you pack a overnight bag and stay over, the beaches are pure white sand and it has a hippy feel to it. We hired a driver for the day and went to the cable cars, sky bridge and water falls, again a great trip and the cost for the driver was £40. We have also walked down to the Harbour and watched the sunset, the food and drinks are reasonably priced. Great resort and beautiful island
We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed private beach front pool villa facility with reasonable level of privacy, however be careful if provided room is 5001 just in front of beach sports desk where there is no privacy at all... We requested to change to 5006 and it was great. Great hospitality of staff, good room layout, especially private pool with back door accessing directly to the beach. Improvement area is pest control for insects, replacing old exteriors including door, table, beach bed cushion which were very old & dirty, cleaning inside edge of pool where only customer could see from inside, consistent daily changes of bath linen, soap, etc. Anyway, overall, we really enjoyed the vacation at this villa.
First time in Langkawi. I was in awe. the place is beautiful. Westin is tucked away between the mountains with nice pools, restaurants and beachfront. The hotel caters for all sorts of travel, business, leisure, family, multicultural. i will definitely visit the site when give the change
We have travelled all over the world in different hotels but the Westin at Langkawi was the best place ever I would highly recommend the Westin to anyone Everyone was friendly and there service was fantastic They would do anything for you There food was 100% restaurant quality and a different menu every night Benjamin in the restaurant has the best food and service We have posted all over Facebook about how great the Westin is We will 100% be back Thank you
We were at Westin, Langkawi for a Few nights during October 2017 - great location close to Kuah with restaurants, shopping and necessities close by. The hotel provides really beautiful views of the sea and the pregnant maiden island across. It was a great experience to chill at the beach, order in drinks and food and take leisurely strolls across the large well maintained property. The spa is truly heavenly and it was healing and calming to just be there. The room was well sized and welcomed us with dark chocolate, raspberries and fruits! All requests were promptly addressed by the staff with a smile. Their intern Faiz showed us around and was a pleasure to talk to, great service! We did need to ask for bath salts and some supplies in to room to be replenished as they weren’t done automatically during room cleaning. We didn’t have sufficient vegetarian friendly food options but other eateries at Kuah were close enough so it didn’t cause a problem. Overall a great relaxing experience. P.S. our breakfast on the balcony suffered a monkey attack so beware, don’t leave food unattended outside of the room! :p
We stayed here as part of a wedding party and stayed for 4 nights. The staff were impeccable and did an excellent job from the front desk manager to the servers at the restaurants. On check in, they provided us with cold towels and refreshments. Being an SPG member we were upgraded to the ocean view which was absolutely lovely. The daily breakfast has a large variety and even has free flow of brut to make mimosas etc. Breakfast runs until 11:30am which was great for those wanting a lie in and a big breakfast in the morning ensured no lunch was needed. There is a small recreation center which has the gym, pool table etc for some fun. Close to the Hotel is the Pier where you could get some local food, and the Yatch Club which also had a restaurant downstairs. The wedding was held at the Heavenly Spa on the beach which was lovely. Only downside was that the dinner reception at the Ballroom left much to be desired. The food was not hot and certainly not up to Westin standards. Bread rolls and butter were served with the soup course but no cutlery for the butter. Guests were left to spread butter on the bread with chopsticks.
Stayed October 2017 for 8 nights. Collection at the airport by Hotel staff was faultless. Arriving at Hotel and check-in was quick and speedy. Booked deluxe sea view room, and that's what we got, in a fashion. The view was mainly of the gardens with very slight sea views, but still good. Room spacious enough, as always with hotels there are never any drawers to put things, but we overcame that. Bathroom was a little tired compared to other Westin Hotels but functional. Always plenty of towels and toiletries daily. The rug in the room was very dirty so just wondered why its there but didn't dwell on that too much. Balcony furniture being the rattan style was very tatty and could do with replacing but again functional and didn't stop us sitting out most days. Breakfast variety was excellent, although my husband wasn't impressed with the cook doing the eggs in a morning, more training on poached and fried I think. (haha) seriously there was plenty to eat in a morning that's for sure, even bucks fizz if you wanted it. There was just too much to actually itemise to be honest. There are 3 pools, one being a kids pool although most days the adults used it as the small people of the world preferred the adults pool, the 3rd being a rock pool. Sunbeds were of good quality with plenty of shade. Towels, sun block and noodles provided at towel cabana. Pool bar was a favourite of ours, the staff were really superb each day we were there, very polite, kind and extremely helpful and made a point of knowing your names, They really do get 5 stars. Breeze Bar just off the lobby offered good service, drinks and food. Again staff very helpful and pleasant always. Whilst there we experienced the bar quite busy at times as 2 conferences were being held in the hotel. Tides Restaurant was our favourite, the food quality was excellent. Service was slightly hit and miss at times with the basics but didn't really stop us going. Some warning also would have been good when the restaurant was closed for private functions and not left till the end of the day to inform guest. We booked trips out to the cable car and water fall with a hotel driver, very good and definitely recommend doing this. We also booked a boat trip to the mangroves and eagle watching. Both were excellent. You can walk down the street to a couple of bars and small shops which were ok, although we didn't use them often. I would like to say that maybe a change up of food menus at the bars and restaurants once or twice a week would be good. Over all we had a great stay and will visit again. I can't express how friendly the staff were at all times.
The resort itself is in a quiet location and set out really well. Views are spectacular from almost any part of the hotel. We found Uber the best way to get around, it’s so incredibly cheap. Pools are great but we were disappointed that there wasn’t an “adults only” pool. There is a perfectly good pool suitable for kids that no adult would use, so why not the other way around? We didn't think it was acceptable having children using the pool with the swim up bar in it? And smoking around the pool? A big no no these days, so why is it OK here? Most of the staff are helpful and friendly. The breakfasts are outstanding, so much choice. Tide restaurant is a lovely dining experience too. The service was particularly slow in the Breeze Bar where the waiting staff are too busy talking to each other and very forgetful. The spa is relaxing and away from the hustle and bustle but nothing exceptional. The rooms were the most disappointing aspect of this resort. Although bright and spacious, with comfortable beds as you’d expect from the Westin, they are however really tired. Our room had a number of issues with it and being regular Westin customers knew it wasn’t up to their high standards. We were moved to a better room but Westin should take note, this resort is tired and needs some attention!
The Westin customer service team is friendly, helpful and very attentive to the needs of the guests. We were impressed by the services provided from the moment we stepped into the hotel right until we checked out. The reception briefed us clearly on our privileges so that we do not miss out on any of our entitlements, kept us shaded during rainy days with buggy rides to our cars and complimentary umbrellas provided, ensure our rooms are kept clean and took the extra mile to set up our room for more privacy so that our stay is more comfortable . Truly a warm and enjoyable stay that supersedes our expectations!
