Looked after from the time we arrived. Very friendly staff from Mr Falkhin at the front desk through to the beach bar. Happy to help where ever they can. Good facilities and right on the beach. Thanks for making our first visit to Langkawi a special and memorable one.
Rooms are spacious. Swimming pool is big enough. Nice long beach where one can always go and relax watching parasailing and ski jets. Beach is not crowded. If one can pay more, can get better view from room. Good breakfast and house keeping. I was there with my family, 7 pax, for 3 days 2 nights.
Great hotel with friendly staff and lovely facilities. We had an awesome stay here and would come back. The tours offered at the desk at the hotel are not good. We got sold an overpriced tour which turned out to be about 200 Chinese tourists on a bus to go snorkeling all at the same time. Really bad. Not what we were told at all. This reflects quite poorly on the hotel, and I feel they should think more carefully about who they are letting sell tours under their roof. The hotel didn’t quite understand this when I asked them, and thought that since we were happy with the rest of the place we were happy with them too (tour group a diff company). If the tour agency is selling in your hotel, they are part of your hotel whether you like it or not! Get rid of them! They just cost you two extra stars!
I had a wonderful holiday here with 7 of us in my family. Summarizing my experience in bullets: - Extra friendly staff with an attitude for great service. I give a perfect score for this. - Check in and Check out were smooth and quick - It is along the beach side and very convenient to access it - Swimming pools were nice and clean - Nice breakfast with a considerable spread of dishes - Good ambience and vibe - Taxi stand just in front of the resort Cons - Rooms and infrastructure getting rusty and need some upgrade soon or later. It is not that bad either. - Quite bit of mosquito if you forget to close the window. This is not a problem of the resort but the premises. Mosquito repellent is provided in room. - Serving time at LaVilla restaurant (the one which serves lunch and dinner) was bit slow. It could be faster though. I would recommend the place now, but over the time in a year or two it will require an infrastructure upgrade.
We travelled to Langkawi as a family of eight adults and two 1.5 year old twin boys for a 9 day stay. On arrival earlier than the check in time of 2pm we were greeted with cool face washers and iced tea - a warm welcome after an overnight flight. Although early for check in, only 2 of the rooms were ready and while our luggage was carefully taken care of by staff, the two other rooms were made available to us with little time to wait. We were allocated 4 rooms nearby each other, one overlooking the beach, one overlooking the pool and two garden view rooms. The rooms were clean, air conditioned and comfortable. Housekeeping came daily replenishing any items needed, we once asked for an extra roll of toilet paper and then daily were given an extra roll with every housekeeping clean. The hotel is in a convenient location (about 15 mins or so from airport, with beachfront and local attractions in near proximity). The facilities were excellent, large pool area with a swim up bar, deeper pool cordoned off and a baby pool. There is then another infinity pool and bar and restaurant overlooking the beach. The beach has lounges, umbrellas and tables to relax with a tiki bar. Each night there is a sunset dinner on the beach with a different theme - Malay, Seafood, Bbq etc and you dine at tables in the sand, with drinks at the tiki bar and watch the sunset over the waterfront. Some nights had fire throwing entertainment and traditional Malay dancers performing. We didnt add breakfast in our booking through a third party however we ate there on days we hadn't made other plans. Breakfast was cheap and if buying two consecutive days a further discount was applied. We were pleased with the many options available. We had also ordered room service after an afternoon spa package we had at nearby Alun Alun Spa, too relaxed to venture out for dinner and had many options to choose from the menu - both Asian and Western. Words cannot express our gratitude towards the hotel and bar staff - they were so accommodating to us, and were smitten with the babies. Exceptional customer service shown and friendships made with a few in particular who treated us like extended family. Local knowledge was shared and recommendations for activities we were interested in doing - night markets, catamaran day trip, island hopping tour, and a fishing trip. There is also a contact on site to book any attractions on the island at competitive prices - we enjoyed the jet ski rides on the beachfront of the hotel. Prices are set (and cheap) for taxis on the island and staff will call upon drivers waiting out the front of the hotel to take you wherever you wish to go, and there are taxi stands all over Langkawi to get you back. We were so impressed by the warm and friendly hospitality shown and truly value the friendships made. The humble nature of everyone we met blew us away and we left feeling homesick for the home we made away from home. I would highly recommend this resort for your next holiday and will definitely return again. Thank you Holiday Villa Beach Resort for our truly magical experience.
A relaxed place. The main pool is ok but for an extra RM 25 you can use the infinity pool which is lovely. The happy hour specials are great and the breakfast is varied. It’s a bit far from the main beach but still has restaurants nearby.
Here with 2 children aged 6 and 8. Excellent service throughout our stay. Friendly staff. They very happy to give us a 5pm check out on our last day. Beautiful part of the beach away from the busyness of the main part of the beach but also easy to get up to the centre of the action. The pool has some shade but probably not enough. Good variety for breakfast and all good (but not 5 star) quality. Food in the beach cafe was only ok but with so many other good food options nearby it wasn't a problem. Decor is quite dated but certainly not shabby. Very clean rooms and hotel grounds. All round a great family stay. I would recommend highly.
We have just got back from our 2 week holiday around South East Asia, Langkawi was one of our stops. We stayed in a deluxe room which overlooked the pool, the room had everything we needed, spacious, AC, Shower and most importantly...clean! We didn't spend a great deal of time in the hotel as explored the island but when we did we were certainly impressed! Breakfast was good, loads of choice! The La Villa Beach club and beach bar were fantastic, well worth the 50MYR (£3.50ish) to use which included towels and a beer! Shidi, the manager of La Villa couldn't have been any more welcoming and made our stay that extra bit special! All staff at the hotel were helpful and willing to go the extra mile! Food was fantastic, plenty of evening entertainment as well. Beach BBQ well worth it on a gorgeous beach which overlooks the sunset! Overall, we were very happy with our stay, will recommend and hopefully be back again in the not so distant future!
Firstly the location is fantastic. Pantai Tengah is a beautiful stretch of beach - one of the nicest I've ever seen with perfect water to swim in. It's very quiet and peaceful, with no people disrupting you when you are sunbathing, trying to sell you bracelets or sunglasses. There is an excellent beach bar too. A few negatives though... the swimming area in the sea (marked by buoys) is too small - it should be twice the size. Also the peace and quiet is broken when all of the jet-skis come in from the jet-ski island tours. I understand that it is a popular thing to do for tourists but there were about 15 of them whizzing along in front of the beach as the sun was going down, meaning what should have been a lovely spectacle was sound-tracked by the drones of their engines. But overall my stay was very enjoyable and the positives far outweighed the negatives. Langkawi has beautiful beaches, lots of interesting days trips and things to do. My room was excellent and spotlessly clean, the breakfasts were good and I've never stayed at a hotel where all of the staff are so friendly. Literally everyone who worked there would say "good morning" with a big smile as I walked past. Being made to feel welcome is the main thing I look for when I stay at a hotel and Holiday Villa excelled in this department - so much so, I asked to speak to the Manager when I checked out to congratulate him on his excellent staff. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I came back to Langkawi.
I really like the beach here — it’s one of the nicer beaches in Langkawi. The hotel is a bit old though. My room’s air-conditioning is cranky and leaks water every now and then. Housekeeping missed out of a few things like bath gel and shampoo during my 4-day stay. The bed is a little harder than preferred so if you’re into soft beds, you might find this a setback. Overall, still a pleasant stay as the hotel is maintained properly. The landscaping is good and the property is clean.
