Bayview Hotel Langkawi4.0 out of 5.0

This was my second time at Bayview Hotel Langkawi. We were on a short family trip. The breakfast has improved leaps and bounds. There's a better variety and quality of food. My room was very spacious with a fabulous view of the sea. The staff were very friendly and approachable. We had a smooth check-in and check-out. One thing to note, everyone, is that when we stayed at Bayview in June 2017, it was during the Muslim fasting month. This means that most of the shops and eateries nearest to Bayview were closed. However, one may choose to walk to this fantastic "pasar Ramadhan" in Kuah, whereby one is spoilt for choice when it comes to delectable Malay food. The renovations were still on-going at the hotel. Should be completed near end of 2017.
This place is nice one to stay but far away from active beach cetang Panai which if 22 km from hotel. Food is ok. No nice restaurant nearby. Had tough time for food by staying here and need to travel a lot for catching common tourist places except eagle statue
This hotel had been situated in the city outskirts & a bit far away from all those sight seeing spots. We made our choice by looking at its physical appearance in the picture. Checkin policy had been a tedious one & time consuming. The rooms were huge in size plus clean & tidy. The breakfast provided had been good with Fine choices. The hospitality of the staffs could be improved a lot. The restaurant employees doesn’t know the term boiling of Rice with carrot ( for baby food). We struggled a lot to make them understand but still doesn’t get our desired thing. Overall it was a good stay!!
I like how spacious the room is, as well as the view from the hotel room. Luckily we booked the bay view room not hill view room :) Bed is super huge, can sleep 3-4 person :') Buffet is ok, I like their variety of choices.
Hotel ia located in the city center, easy to go around. Duty free shops were just around the corner. Night market is every wednesday and saturday and just few minute walk. The staffs were very friendly, polite and helpful. Check in was fast. The room was spacious, clean but outdated with dirty carpet and many spot on them. It seems the renovation will be progressed soon and this is a good idea. Bed was extra big and comfy. The bathroom was clean, however the bathroom we had, was leaking on the bathroom floor and water could not be drained. Braekfast was ok with many variety of food.
Perhaps this hotel is not meant for holidaying families. It is far away from the beach and other attractions. While the staff did to be hospitable, the interiors of the hotel are quite run down. Breakfast was a disappointment. All in all this hotel may be good as a transit in Kuah, given the generally attractive price.
My review is a little late but here goes. Overall, for the price we paid, this place was quiet OK. Even though the place is quite old and in need of an upgrade, they are quite clean actually until it rains and that is where the musky smell reviews you've been seeing around. I guess the carpet are old then and I'm sure they're older now if they're still not changed then it may be worse. The staffs are friendly and accommodating, I love the breakfast especially, very Asian if you are like me, you'll enjoy the nasi lemak especially was very good, and they hadit everyday served with main dish like rending today, and with another main meat/chicken/fish dish tomorrow. what I love most is the location. At night just across is where the shops are (shout out to Corelle dinner ware and other kitchenware party aunties) and where the heart of night markets were, roads are filled with street food and other stuff, cash only. thou you'll need to drive up a little if you intend to go the beach areas and main tourist attractions. we rented a car at great bargain at the airport and driving around the island, it is pretty easy. you cannot get lost. even if the road you turned into is not shown in the map, it'll somehow end up in the main road eventually. Free parking was available however their pool didn't look that nice so I skipped. The area around the hotel is very well lighted, a good crowd and clear hence I feel quite safe while we were there.
Nice hotel with great views...The hotel staff is very helpfull and friendly assising in inquirs...The room keeper doing a great job.Very easy acess to the beach...just walking distance....the breakfast buffet can be improve on the selection ..especially on the vegetarian choices...overall everthing was good
For the price of RM300 plus for a night i expected more on this hotel. Everything is old and dull . Breakfast is horrible . Most of the furniture and deco needed to be refurbished. Staff was friendly. Room service was great tho. Fast and delicious. Did not know why breakfast buffet are lame . Walking distance to duty free shops nearby . But far from beach. I suggest you guys to rent a car instead of uber if ur in a group. Go to cenang beach , lots of water sports activity and dinner spot (mainly seafood restaurant) . If you have time drive to the Cliff seafood restaurant located on other side of Pantai Cenang. They hv great seafood there compare to Pantai Cenang but the price are slightly expensive than Pantai Cenang area. Go to Cba(bar/restaurant) for great live band located at Meritus Pelangi Resort. If you are staying more than 5-7 days, u may take a ferry to Koh Lipe island(thailand) , it's about 2 hours journey , but it is so worth it, trust me, the water are crystal clear! Need to spent a night or 2 for if u are planning on island hopping at Koh Lipe. Ferry ticket price are Rm210 per person return. I took the one from Tropical Charters (please bring along ur passport to Koh Lipe). This is a lame ferry , more for backpackers so dont expect a 5 star ferry . I would recommend to stay else where cheaper if you are planning to go to Koh Lipe. Bayview will be suitable more for duty free shoppers . Please take time to go to Nasi Dagang Pak Malau for breakfast, overlooking the paddy field. Come as early as 8am . If you come at 10 then goodluck on starving hahaha! Try and find Laksa Ikan Sekoq nearby airport. It's one of the best local dish in town. For non malaysian , it's a must try. Enjoy langkawi guys! ✌🏼
