We had a great stay. The rooms were very clean, the breakfast was above average, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here again.

This is my second stay at Comfort Suites in Lancaster, and it was just as good as my first time. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean and neat. There's an indoor pool, gym and breakfast is complementary. I've been visting Lancater for the past 19 years, and there are very few places that will stay at becasue most of the hotels are dirty and old. Will definitely recommend this hotel.

hotel was our home base for a great trip to Sight and Sound prerformance and some quiet sightseeing.

My mother and I made a two day, one night trip to tour the Amish Country. I am very picky and spent a great deal of time reading reviews to chose a good hotel. The area hotels are mostly 2 or 3 stars, which concerned me especially since this one was rated as a 2 or 2 1/2 star hotel. The picture of the bathroom was what sold me because bathroom cleanliness is major concern for me. This place is clean! Fresh towels, clean tub, comfy bedding, easy to control thermostat, no bedbugs. I checked all the places they say to check. We even took the headboards off the wall to check behind there. No bedbugs! I say this only because of how much the media speaks of bedbugs. The location, once you find it, is perfect for getting to downtown Lancaster, Bird-In-Hand, and Intercourse. I was worried about noisy children, but the overall atmosphere was calm and quiet and wasn't conducive to a lot of commotion. Maybe, because there isn't a pool?? There was however a noisy dog that barked over and over early in the morning. The front desk thought it might have been a dog from the farm behind the hotel. I checked. There really is a farm right behind the hotel. If I stay here again, I'll ask for a room closer to the street. If you aren't really into the "country" Amish look, this is the place for you. The decor is modern and simple. We had a double queen with a very comfortable sitting area. There's a microwave, refrigerator, safe, and big screen tv. We didn't try the free breakfast, but it smelled yummy. When booking, I was a little concerned that the hotel did not have a restaurant for lunch and dinner, but after seeing so many choices nearby, it wasn't a problem. It wasn't that the service was poor or the concierge had bad attitudes. They were teens who were probably were hired for summer employment. They were just so nonchalant. There was no effort to be hospitable. Not even a smile, "let us know if you need anything", "thanks for choosing us", "drive safely", etc. To remedy this problem, I suggest that management take note and give more attention to training young staff on how to make guests feel welcome. Some guests might be discouraged to return due to this flaw in service. That said, I would still would stay here again because of it's cleanliness. I hope the details I provided are helpful in making your decision.

Excellent accomodations

The man who checked us in upon our arrival was absolutely wonderful. He was thoughtful and helpful, infact he was TOP NOTCH. The rooms were both clean and inviting. My only comment is that there were two girls working at the front desk that evening and we found them to be short and a bit rude. We had 3 seperate conversations with the one employee, and I don't feel that she had an once of positive customer service in her. Everyone else in the hotel (including housekeeping) was so very nice. It was a great room and a great rate, and that one front desk staff person was the reason I gave the hotel a 4 star instead of five star rating.

When we arrived in our room, it was dark, turned on the hall way light and proceeded to walk in. I fell over the black coffee table in front of the sofa sticking out into the hallway, rolled off and banged against the chair at the desk. Here are my concerns/questions: Why is a black table placed sticking out if the entrance way of a room? Why isn't there sufficient lighting when a customer walks in? Why when your husband goes down to the front desk to report my accident, nothing is done, no accident forms to fill out, no follow-up from the hotel management. I received a deep gash in my right leg, along with swelling and bruising on my left wrist, left knee and long scratches on my right calf. I can't imagine how severe my injures would of been if I was wearing a dress or shorts, I was wearing jeans.

Had clean rooms and very nice morning breakfast. The location was good also.
