Our room overlooked Bled Lake. It was bright, airy and incredibly clean. All the staff were amazingly courteous, attentive and professional. We were made to feel special. This is a wonderful Hotel. Our 3 night break included sumptuous breakfasts and evening meals. The location was perfect , very close to all the main Bled Attractions. We had a fantastic time. Our thanks to all the staff who made this great place even greater!
Hotel Astoria is in a great location and a short walk to Lake Bled & Bled’s shopping and dining areas. The Hotel states online they “are in the magical setting of Lake Bled”, leading readers to believe that they are located on the Lake which they are not, it’s a 10 min walk to the Lake with a handful of rooms being able to see the Lake. The hotel is modern & the staff very professional . It has a modern wellness spa that contains 4 types of Saunas. We all went in and had different treatments and loved it. Our check in was quick and they brought our bags to our rooms while we went for a walk around the Lake. Bled has many great shops, cafes, restaurants & even a casino. Included in your room price is an amazing deluxe freshly made breakfast, the pasty chef will make you want to stay more nights. All items are cut, baked and placed out within mins of the serving area going low on each item. Rooms cost between 100 and 150 euros per night & include breakfast for each room guest. I stayed in Room 124 which had a separate room and hide a bed with a sliding door and two single beds inside the bed area where the bathroom is located. The Hotel has free Wifi, and free parking for guests. Their website states that it is a 3 star hotel but we all gave it a 4 ½ * for sure.
Great hotel in the centre of Bled. Stayed half board basis. Brilliant breakfast and different and great choice dinners every evening. Rooms very clean and cleaned daily. We upgraded to suite which is well worth it. Separate living area and mini bar. No atmosphere in bar at night which is the only down side but plenty of bars in Bled. Bus stop 1 minute walk to main bus stop, very close. 40 minutes bus journey to Vogel ski area.
If you are thinking about a short break to Bled then look no further than the Hotel Astoria... Fantastic location, 5 minutes to the lake itself and in the better part of Bled which is near the Bus station and two of the nicest restaurants (Rustika - Pizzeria and Babji Zob - Slovenian) and possibly the nicest Pub (Gostilna Planincu) with its funky array of vehicle number plates scattering the walls and ceiling. The Hotel is clean, welcoming and the breakfast is plentiful. The only disappointment was the lack of atmosphere in the evening but didn't really matter to me as there were many bars in the vicinity.
Firstly this hotel is just excellent for what it is: Its a great base for skiing, 30 seconds from the lake, close to a supermarket, opposite the bus stop (which gets you anywhere you need to go), it has an amazing spa and the food was great. On top of all this, the service was incredible. Beyond a 5 star service. The staff helped me propose to my girlfriend by giving us fortune cookies and then upgraded our room! That's for making it so amazing!
For a 3 star hotel this was well up to standard , very clean .nice rooms .we upgraded to the front with balcony has good views although it’s not right on the lake you can still see it . They serve a buffet style breakfast and dinner, plenty of choice . The down sides .... The odd thing was you can’t get tap water (which was very good ) with your meals you had to pay 3euros for a small bottle ?? I’m really not sure why ?we both drink a lot of water so this worked out expensive after 4 nights for just water !! The prosecco was in very small measures and we had to send it back twice as it was warm !! That and the wine was expensive There is no tea and coffee facilities in the room and no water and no hair shampoo and conditioner for an upgraded room was somewhat poor There is a large bar /meeting area downstairs not very comfortable or inviting especially after dinner if you want a drink and relax we had to ask for someone to attend the bar this happen every time someone came in. So a lot of people just walked right out !! Loosing them a lot of business !! The area outside used for smokers had blankets and was much more inviting but it was very very cold with snow ! In the summer :-) A lot of small changes would make this a place I would recommend but without them I wouldn’t sorry :-(
Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean and staff very good and helpful. We had a lovely, good sized room with a balcony overlooking the castle and the church. The buffet style breakfasts and dinners were very good with lots to choose from and the hot dishes were always very hot which is sometimes not the case with buffet food! We loved the jacuzzi area of the spa which is surrounded by glass, relaxing in a jacuzzi seeing snow outside & the moon shining above the glass roof was a delight! The hotel is in a good location, just a few minutes walk from the lake & shops and boat to the island in the lake. Only criticism is the lack of atmosphere/ambience and lack of stock in the bar area. We had checked the drinks menu online beforehand which looked very good & were hoping to maybe have a cocktail before dinner some evenings and maybe a local fruit brandy perhaps afterwards but sadly we could not have either & were told we could only have what was on the shelf which was an extremely limited selection. We did use the bar area each night though as it was extremely cold during our stay and after being out all day just wanted to stay in the warm! Quite a lot of our party did brave the cold again though in order to be able to get what they wanted. Screen off the area with the large round tables to make it a slightly smaller space, a bit of background music perhaps and a larger selection of drinks is all that is needed to make this a nice place for people to relax after dinner and also get more trade! One very good point about it though is that the drinks that are available are extremely reasonable especially as in hotels they are often just the reverse!
We used the hotel as our base whilst visiting Bled & it is in a superb location directly opposite the bus station & within easy walk of everywhere. The lake is a beautiful walk with a good path all the way around and the castle is a must visit. The food at the hotel is buffet style but an wide and varied selection and as much as you want to eat. The health spa is well fitted with a variety of saunas - however as Bled is the ‘home’ of ‘Well Being’ you are expected to is the facilities in the nude? You can get free entry to the spa if you hang the sign on the door to not have maid service - although this is not advertised. Very clean throughout & helpful staff.
From start to finish we had a great experience here, mainly thanks to Robert who was excellent. Tidy rooms, "can do" staff and lovely food at breakfast/ dinner. Greatly recommend BUT not much life after about 8pm but suited us.
Stayed in September for the 2nd time. We were given a room on the top floor with an amazing view of the lake. We went with parents who enjoyed it too. The room was lovely & kept clean. The food was really good with a good selection for breakfast & dinner. Would definitely return to Bled & stay at the Astoria.
