Enjoyed a delicious lunch followed by flamenco dancing as part of an included excursion from our Douro river cruise. Lots of wine, help yourself salads and cold meats plus hot Spanish omelette and paella. The paella was gorgeous with tasty chicken, tender squid, mussels and peppers in perfectly flavoured rice. We had a sunny, private dining room with imposing decor on the seventh floor and were encouraged onto the roof to view the panorama of the city. After free time in the city we returned to the hotel foyer, a cool haven after 36c, where drinks were reasonably priced.
Very traditional Spanish style with lots of marble and shiny mirrors. Maintained in pristine condition. Helpful English speaking staff. Our spacious room did not have a view (as expected from a town centre location). Firm but comfortable beds. Good position in walking distance from town centre facilities
Spent one night here as stop off on way to Southern Spain, was very impressed with the family room we were given, Room 201 on second floor. View of the park at the front of the building. Very spacious room, well decorated with repro mock Georgian furniture. Nice beds with clean bedding, spare pillows too. Would definitely recommend. Wifi and safe, plus lots of nice bathroom goodies included. No outside noise, none from the nearby lifts either. Good aircon too. Lots of marble, mirrors and gold bling in the bathroom, touch of opulence! We even managed to get our camper van into their underground parking.
This hotel is a 10 minute walk to the Plaza Mayor which is great for people watching and dining. We found the bed on the hard side but the top was spacious as was the bathroom. The included breakfast was good. The rooftop views are impressive.
Comfortable and large room decorated in older style furnishings. No coffee or tea in the room. There is a market around the corner and it is just a short walk into the old town. The smallest soap I have seen!
This was part of a tour and was in a good place. It was only 10 or so minutes into the centre of Salamanca and there are plenty of food places around and certainly some historic buildings. The hotel is a good size and the rooms also a good size. Bed was comfortable. Only had an issue with temperature control. Did go looking for a drink after dinner but the bar that looked open had no one looking after it. Breakfast was good.
Stayed for 2 nights. Room was ok - reasonable size but nothing special. Bathroom good with complicated shower! Air conditioning binary - i.e. On or Off with no other control so we ended up feeling cod during the night. Breakfast was ok - good spread of food but patchy service as things run out and the staff rarely seem to check. Pool on roof is small and felt cold but probably because it was so hot in the sun. Pool area tired - crappy creaking decking panels and a single umbrella - it is 35C in the shade! As a complete oddity, you have to put a deposit (10eur) to get a towel! Staff at reception good and standout performances from the concierges who having said that the car park was tight both parked and returned our car - excellent!
Even it didn't really feel like 5 star hotel, I really enjoyed staying there. The hotel; staff was really helpful and polite. The room very big and the bathroom just excellent. No complains for the sleeping quality. Superb WiFi. The only thing which was weird - that there was no access to the roof terrace. Honestly this was really strange, because this hotel has a wonderful terrace with breathtaking views, however once I tried to access it, I've been told by the restaurant staff that I can't go there... A little bit disappointing
Compared to other luxury hotels we have stayed at this one just didn't measure up. Our room was very cold and the temperature impossible to regulate, shower controls were difficult to access, bed had only one pillow per occupant and there was only one small trash can in the bathroom. In room coffee pots were not available and breakfast was not available until 7:30 AM.
We were on a day trip to Salamanca and lunch was at the Hotel Alameda. The buffet was superb with a fine choice of hot and cold dishes served in a large spacious dining room and well attended by professional staff. As usual, we ate more than was necessary but that was not surprising given the choice and excellent presentation
